Pulled this off the Escapist (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95539-Tecmo-Koei-Mashing-Fist-of-the-North-Star-With-Dynasty-Warriors)site. Never really read or watched FotNS, but I tend to like the Warriors game, so I'll probably keep following it. With the Anime tie, thought it might have broader appeal. Hopefully, it doesn't suck like DW: Gundam.

DW: Gundam was so bad. Surely they knew what they were releasing.

They're making predictions that this will outsell bread so maybe they're on to something. I never really got into DW, myself.

The big problem with DW Gundam in my opinion was trying to put that much laser fire into a beat 'em up. Or, at least, without retooling things.

The Warriors games have had firearms before, and some people use them as primary weapons, but projectiles are pretty nerfed in the series, and it seemed like they did the same damn thing. A Mecha fighting game could be awesome, but they needed something different. Throw in a couple dashes of DMC or something like that.

The video play makes it look more like this fits better with the current DW/SW mechanics. That should fit better. I have always enjoyed the Koei "Warriors" titles because they're simplistic and fun and let you take on hordes of enemies. They just shouldn't have done it with the Gundam franchise.

ON THE UDDER HAND, DWG must have sold well enough to justify the sequel....So maybe we're just the minority.

I suppose we can't expect most people to be critical of certain games, considering off the wall sales for the silliest attempts at games.

Never got into the Warriors games, Dynasty, Samurai, or that mash-up they did a while back. Seemed to simplistic to me. Looks good now but I feel late to the party.

It is simplistic. I'd like a little mroe depth but I worry they'd fuck the shit out of it. I like the play, however.

I just want a good gundam game. There is a bettlefield style game for 360 but only in japan.

Fuckers.

DWG wasn't great, it did really well in Japan and got good scores there but most of the 'Warriors' titles do over there. It's mostly here in the West where they aren't really well recieved.

I did enjoy DWG for what it was, just a game to put in and blow up loads of giant robots with. It wasn't the worst game I've ever played and far from the best it just sort of sits there in the middle.

Just played the demo for this. Makes it look like a shitty fighting game based on the DW engine, rather than a DW title proper. Anime title, boss-style fighting, shitty mechanics. Kalyx would probably love it.

It's probably sold well in Japan because it's FotNS, but fuck that shit. I think I preferred DW:G to this.

And dat be saying sumfin.

You'll think the controls are "floaty."

Probably. Dunno how to describe it otherwise, but I think you know what I mean. Nothing you do feels like it has any impact and the controls are nowhere near as tight as other action games.
