I am watching for Mousasi

Jura
11-07-2009, 09:40 PM
First time I saw Mousasi was the last event. He had like no expression at all and I was like wtf is up with this guy? Then he destroyed his opponent and I was like damnnnnnn.

Boy almost got knocked out before the fight started.

Vastardikai
11-07-2009, 10:07 PM
Mayhem is fun. Would have been funny if the Dancer HAD knocked him out, though.

Vastardikai
11-07-2009, 10:27 PM
Mayhem and Shields is a fun war.

HOLY FUCK HOW DID SHIELDS SURVIVE?

CSL
11-07-2009, 10:29 PM
Holy shit @ the end of that round

Innovator
11-07-2009, 10:40 PM
5 more seconds and Mayhem had him

Vastardikai
11-07-2009, 10:45 PM
I just want to say, if Shields EVER faces Hendo, he'd get murdered.

A. Hendo is gonna be held down like Mayhem was.
B. Hendo has more power on the ground.

Also, WOW for the mixed reaction for Rogers...

in his HOMETOWN no less.

Good round 1 for Rogers. Bloodied Fedor with a Jab.

Gas tank is gonna be an issue.

What Would Kevin Do?

Damn!

Vastardikai
11-07-2009, 11:13 PM
That right hand was nasty.

Bret did get a VERY good job. He held his own against the best Heavyweight fighter in the world.

The Mask
11-07-2009, 11:14 PM
yeah that was stopped a bit fast. his head didn't bounce off the ground or anything. he did look to be up shit creek though so dunno.

Meh. Was hoping Brett Rogers would win. Fedor doesn't mean anything to me if he never fights in UFC. :-\

I mean, I know he's great but it'd be like Dan Marino being called the greatest quarterback of all time if he spent his entire career in the USFL or CFL and never played in the NFL.

What Would Kevin Do?
11-07-2009, 11:19 PM
I agree. I don't think Fedor will ever have a lock on the "best ever" tag if he never fights in the UFC.

ALso, I want to see a rematch... I wanted to see Rogers win that too. I think he could comeback and do some damage. With that said, that fight was definitely over. Fedor wasn't going to let up.

That was a fucking slick right hand. Got to say though, I'd fancy Randy over Fedor if it happened.

New sig for this occasion. Credit to Neo_Pop over at Ninjashoes, who I guess made the gif.

I don't think so. Randy doesn't have the chin to deal with that power.

I mean his wrestling could maybe take over.... but at some point in 3 rounds or 5 rounds, they are going to be standing, esp. with Fedor's nast Sambo he's not staying on the ground for long and Fedor can open Randy up standing.

Not sure how far Dana's head was up his ass when he was offering Fedor Brock and a bunch of money a few months ago

The Mask
11-08-2009, 01:15 AM
if randy beat fedor i would buy a rather large expensive hat and eat the fucker.

Ol Dirty Dastard
11-08-2009, 01:20 AM
Yeah it's not Dana's fault anymore... it's up to Fedor to come to the ufc... but he just did himself a big favour putting on a show like that. Not his best performance but it was such a war that he looked like a badass... and that makes him a draw as far as I'm concerned.

Fucking hell, if you're talking the punch in this guy's sig. then there's no way that could have went on. Do you want to see someone actually die?

11-08-2009, 02:19 AM
From the sound of things Bret Rogers just made even more of a name for himself, despite the loss. I was at work, so I missed the fight but I'll watch it on MMA core when it's up.

Fedor looked very beatable yesterday

Ol Dirty Dastard
11-08-2009, 12:39 PM
I hate how people are like "Fedor looked beatable". Have you seen him fight? He always gets in and then out of trouble. It's because he is always aggressive and looking for the finish.

Coleman almost choked him out and then Fedor armbarred him. Randleman suplexed him into the next stratusphere, Fedor reversed and kimura'd him. Mark Hunt almost kimura'd Fedor, Fedor beat him. Arlovski was bashing Fedor around, Fedor knocked him the fuck out with one punch. Fujita put him on dream street and cut him bad, Fedor almost popped his head off.

At the end of the day, Fedor wins these fights. As long as he is fighting in the heavyweight division he is at risk of getting beat because he's fighting guys way bigger than him, the phenomenal thing is he finds a way to win every time. He snatches victory from defeat and always keeps cool.

If you don't see that, you don't know what you're talking about.

Ol Dirty Dastard
11-08-2009, 12:41 PM
Oh and he also looked beatable against Hong Man Choi, because he is a fucking goliath.

All it takes is once punch.

I don't know why but Savior just aggrivated the shit out of me.

Jura
11-08-2009, 01:47 PM
There there big guy.

Once the fight starts I think it's just a matter of when and how Fedor beats you. Rogers almost lost to a kimura and then an armbar and finally got destroyed by a right hand. Being lucky and powerful isn't enough. You also have to be really aware and smart.

He won't always be able to come back though. He's not going to be the man forever.

When did he get the nickname "The last Emperor?" That's horrible.

Vastardikai
11-08-2009, 05:21 PM
It seemed like, as the fight went on, Rogers seemed to have the life sucked out of him.

Definitely. But the point is, he always looks beatable, but he hasn't gotten beat. It's just the way he fights. Every fighter looks beatable. No1 is indestructable. What do people want from the guy?

i think silva is about as untouchable as fedor circa 2005 lately. he just doesn't have the record fedor does.

Ol Dirty Dastard
11-09-2009, 12:03 PM
It's not like he hasn't had lackluster fights tho.

I will also stop calling Savior a n00b once he ceases making n00blike comments.

Fabien Barthez
11-09-2009, 04:50 PM
Difference is, Fedor is starting to seem more falliable whereas Silva seems less, especially at this point. I don't think the 'Silva lost once, over 5 years ago' argument really holds any water. He has probably done about 10,000 hours of training and improvment over that time.

Ol Dirty Dastard
11-09-2009, 06:22 PM
Fedor has always seemed falliable though. Sometimes he comes in and mows guys down, sometimes it takes him a round or two to ko or submit the guy. It's how he's always been. He cuts easily and he's small for a heavyweight, 2 easy roads to a tko stoppage.

And did you guys watch Silva vs. Cote and Silva vs. Leites?

Reavant
11-09-2009, 06:46 PM
yea even when fedor was in his "prime" (if he still isnt) he went throught fights where he looked like he got in trouble. He didnt look like he was anywhere near as bad in this fight as he has in others.

He looked like he was a bit vulnerable against the cage and had he had an opponent that could take advantage of that better then he could have been abused a lot more, but im sure he will learn from that and it will no longer be a problem.

Vastardikai
11-09-2009, 06:55 PM
^

There's nothing that Rogers did to him that hadn't been done worst by Fujita, Cro Cop, or Hong Man Choi.

Honestly, the cage saved Brett from getting arm barred.

The Mask
11-09-2009, 07:30 PM
seem more fallible is one of those things though. he's always had moments but until it actually happens and he gets knocked out or beat then i'm not going to believe it.

I am sorry for offending you Newstead. I didn't know this was serious business.

Ol Dirty Dastard
11-09-2009, 08:28 PM
It is most serious. No time for n00bs and n00b comments.

Most of those fans were either Rogers fans or unaware of Fedor since they were chanting USA! a couple of times. I think if they didn't know, now they know and within a year people will be more familiar with Fedor.
