With respect, Richards, although awesome isn't strong enough to carry a whole promotion that would want to make an impact, which I would assume it would. Based on Gabe being involved.

There's always the option for this being a Dragongate cross promotion thing, which could have potential, but honestly, I can't see this getting more popular that ROH was/is, they will need more 'names'

Some sort of points system where wrestlers accumulate points based on winning matches, being on TV and so on. I haven't decided what the ultimate goal of the points system would be..title shots? money?

This would be nothing like the AWA's Team Challenge Series...there will be no raw turkey on a pole matches.

EVOLVE Divisions

There are three divisions for EVOLVE competitors. They are:

1) Official Singles Division: These wrestlers will concentrate on singles matches. All bouts between official wrestlers will count towards their record. Competitors become "official" either by invitation from the EVOLVE board of directors or by winning a qualifying match (see #3).

2) Official Tag Team Division: Tag teams become "official" either by invitation from the EVOLVE board of directors or by winning a qualifying match. An official team must register as a regular tag team. There will be no makeshift or random tag teams in EVOLVE. A trio can register as a tag team and select two competitors for a match. The trio can also compete in six man tag team matches. All matches between official teams will count towards their record. This means that both regular and six man tag team matches can count towards records. Note: Substitutions can be made in the event of injury to prevent wrestlers from having to rush back early from injury.

3) Qualifying Match: This can be any type of bout, including, but not limited to multi-man matches such as four-ways or various types of tag team bouts. A qualifying match will include competitors trying to earn their way into one of the official divisions. The results of this match will not count towards records.

EVOLVE has sent out five invitations to compete in one of the official divisions. They have gone to Bobb

Long road from home..........
I still remember the smell of my teams tracksuit, the dark red color of the mat that covered Othello High School. I remember my grandpa that morning telling me being a Richards means working harder than everyone else for what you want and by leading by example, so really the outcome didnt matter as long as left everything I had out there on the mat.
I remember the tingle that went up my spine as my name was called to wrestle, I remember Coach Garza handing me my ear gaurds. I remember looking at my grandpa and he gave his famous nod.
The whistle sounded.....soon thereafter I lost.
I was crushed, I wanted to quit.
Then something happened, I remember sitting on our porch on our farm talking with my grandpa about how I wanted to quit.
He asked me how my dinner tasted I was eating, how I like going fishing in our boat, how I liked my new school clothes. "Great", I said to everyone.
" If me and your Grandmother had quit everytime things got tough on this farm we wouldnt have any of this, nor would you have a roof over your head or food to eat, or clothes to wear".
Thats the first time I remember feeling that fire to outwork everyone, to lead by example, to not talk but to act.
I was 10 years old then, and after 16 years of wrestling that fire is still burning.

Fast forward 16 years, 2 amature state titles, cauliflowered ears, and a passion not only to be the best but the uphold my families creed: Seek out the best and outwork them.

This is how Ive Evolved.

This year many have said Ive more great matches then anyone, vs. KENTA, vs. Danielson, vs. SHINGO, vs. Omega, vs. Strong, ect.
Even WWE has come knocking.
But noone understands why, its not for attention I do this, its not for money, its not for notoriety. Its for my beliefes, my morals, my creed.
I am a man who belives hard work must be rewarded and laziness must be punished. Ive simply walked away from places before who I feel have not shared this moral with me.

Evolve is my oppurtunity to not seek out big paydays, not to seek out mainstream notoriety, or to even gain attention.
Evolve is my place to seek out the best, outwork them, and beat them. So I ask Evolve- Send me the best wrestlers on the planet, the hardest hitters, the most skilled fliers, the most technical mat wrestlers and test me. I live for this, I live for competition, I live for doing what Ive done for 16 years with pride, integrity, and heart: wrestling.

Send me the best so I may look up and know my grandpa is still looking down on me wrestling the same way he did when I was 10 years old, so I can still make him proud by following my families creed : outwork everyone and lead by example.

It looks like Tyler Black is a definite. Apparently at the ROH show on Saturday he had "Evolve" written on one of his boots.

This sounds really interesting. The Fight Club vibe, and the general cult atmosphere. The way they have a clear mission statement, and they've got everything sorted out the gate. Three divisions, official records and such. It's all got structure to it. I'd love to see Paul London and Brian Kendrick get involved, either as a tag team or as singles guys.

They'll probably be a lot of cross-promotion with Dragon Gate USA, FIP and the other promotions Gabe has got good ties with. I'd love to see them send out "invitations" to WWE and TNA talent, if just to try and get noticed.

I am suddenly way more excited...

A series of mysterious videos have been sent to the EVOLVE office. The third one surfaced today. They are simply labeled on www.Youtube.com/evolvewrestling as "Uknown." Each one gives a progressive series of clues on a wrestler that is believed to be coming to EVOLVE 1 on January 16th in Rahway, NJ. Here are direct links to the videos:

Everyone is being very tight lipped on supplying any information other than what is provided in the videos. We have learned that the final video will surface on the day after Christmas. Who or what will it reveal? We'll find out on December 26th.

Getting Personal

The EVOLVEwrestling.com Roster section is almost complete as most of the wrestlers have profiles. The unique format of these roster pages offer a clue to the personal characters that will be heavily featured in EVOLVE.

The stories don't end in the ring. EVOLVE will feature the true personalities of its wrestlers. You won't hear rehearsed promos or scripted lines in EVOLVE. This is about real people who all share the common passion of competing in the squared circle. However, all these men share in common is their pride of pro wrestling. As you can see by reading these roster pages everyone has very different backgrounds and stories.

The roster pages start by offering some "Quick Facts" about each wrestler. This is to give you just the basics. Any athlete reading this will probably find the "Training Philosophy" and "Athletic Background" answers particularly interesting. The intimate details come out in the "Getting Personal" section.

We sent this questionnaire to every member on the Official Rosters. There were no instructions or guidance. We wanted to see what we got back. We were surprised and even shocked at some of the answers, ranging from funny to deadly serious. The stories of these lives developed right before our eyes. Some talked about battling loss, like the death of a parent. Others discussed living with an injury. A few mentioned raising a child. There were even some shocking revelations like in Silas Young's profile.

Suddenly, these private individuals started becoming very real and personal. Their battles, their good and bad times as well as their glories and defeats will be a focal point of EVOLVE. Someone is bound to have a story you can related to and draw inspiration from. We are currently working on a unique way to document these individuals. Stay tuned....

When I see Flip Kendrick and Louis Lydon's names together, I just want to see them matched up against Brian Kendrick & Paul London. Book it, Gabe!

I'm also loving how this is feeling like Fight Club mixed with real personal drama. I've always wanted to see wrestlers treated as people, and not as over-the-top characters. Not that an over-the-top character in EVOLVE (obviously hiding something) couldn't eventually work.

I'm way more excited about this project than I was Dragon Gate USA.

Reading those "Getting Personal" sections is really interesting. I've never seen him work, but I already want to be a fan of Johnny Gargano. He seems like a really cool, funny, hard-working guy. Same goes for Bobby Fish (he's spent a fair bit of time wrestling in Japan, so I'm keen to see him in action).

I really hope EVOLVE gets guys like London, Kendrick and Brent Albright in.

It looks like Paul Heyman will be at the first Evolve show too.

A man who has evolved wrestling by leading a revolution is coming to "EVOLVE 1: Richards vs. Ibushi" on January 16th in Rahway, NJ. He is highly respected by both the wrestlers and his peers. He wants to be there when the new revolution known as EVOLVE begins. Who is he? What will he do on January 16th? Keep checking back everyday for more clues.

Considering there's a picture of a torch being passed on the main evolve page (Gabe worked for Heyman in ECW), plus the E on the center of the page switches to the old ECW E when you hover over it, I'm saying it's obviously Heyman.

I think it'd be a huge feather in Evolve's cap if Heyman endorses them.

I don't know any specifics, I've just heard the didn't agree/get along well. It really came out in the horrible booking of Jacobs once they took over though. Jacobs went from being a "threat" to a joke.

When I get some ambition I'll post the results I've read from tonights show. Apparently Davey vs. Kota was good (shocking, I know), Chris Hero is going to be in Evolve, and it looks like Jimmy Jacobs is going to feud with Tommy Dreamer, which could either be amazing, or just bad.
