Like a lot of shows on that list, specially #20
No Entourage though? One of my favorite shows. No Family Guy either?

Fair few of my faves on there. Good list.
Still don't rate The Wire as much.
Think The Sopranos deserved the top spot. That or LOST.

 @ #20
Family Guy started in 1999 so I guess technically doesn't count. (edit: nah Sopranos was '99 too, dunno)
Was gonna say Oz but that was from like 1997, damn.
Would have added:
Da Ali G Show
Peep Show
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

True, True, it was '99.
The West Wing at number 30. Fuck right off, easily top 3 shows ever.
El Vaquero de Infierno
11-16-2009, 08:05 AM
Battlestar galactica should have been in the top 10
Kane Knight
11-16-2009, 08:44 AM
LOL. Lost? Seriously? In the top ten?

Eastbound and Down is pretty good, if you're into Danny McBride kind of humour. Got into it last night.

Wow, out of that entier list I've only ever watched one thing. That being Futurama.
Though I've never really heard of Freaks And Geeks, Friday Night Lights, Firefly, Big Love, Tim And Eric Awesome Show Great Job!, Undeclared, The Venture Bros., Flight Of The Conchords, Eastbound & Down and Wonder Showzen. :-\
The rest, I've heard of before, but I've never watched them.

No matter how you look at it, it basically turned network TV upside down
But yeah, great list. Top 10 are spot on

I know it's only in it's second season, but i'd definitely add Sons of Anarchy. That show is amazing, and arguably the best drama on TV right now.
It's Always Sunny should definitely be on there too. Easily the funniest show on TV, and probably one of the best 5 sitcoms ever made.

LOL @ KK, even on ignore, he still manages to post like a right fuckin idiot. Where have you been for the last 6 years.
Would've included West Wing, Deadwood, Six Feet Under and The Shield higher than Lost personally, but it's all personal choice I guess.
The Wire and Sopranos being the top 2 is definitely not open to debate though.

Glad to see Venture Bros. getting the proper respect.
But where the fuck is Planet Earth, and why is it not number 1?

Six Feet Under and The Shield are on par with LOST imo, but Deadwood? come on.
Don't get me wrong, I really like Lost, but I think of the shows listed, it is the most flawed.
Just personal preference at the end of the day:-\

I would absolutely put West Wing in my top five. I don't see how you can put it behind shows that haven't concluded their run yet. Those shows could still have a terrible ending.

Kinda upset there was no 24

Nah West Wing can push Sopranos spot for sure.

Aye, I would think 24 would be placed somewhere on that list.

Geez I think this list is rather horrible tbh and explains why I don't watch as much tv as I used to. There's a few in there I'm sure they just put on there in hopes to help DVD sales since they only lasted all of a couple seasons. I know it's well past it's prime but the Simpsons should have been on there without a shadow of a doubt and it's ratings are probably still decent too.

Bit upset at no Scrubs and 24 but decent list. Agree with placing shows that haven't finished or barely lasted 3 years ahead of older shows since they never had the chance to have "down" years or potential to go downhill after a while.
Just noticed no South Park either since they counted shows that started in late 1990s in the list.

nice to see some love for East Bound and Down

Honestly, Jack Bauer would kill every motherfucker on that list.

I'm surprised that Scrubs didn't make it. I mean, How I Met Your Mother? At least Two-and-a-Half Men didn't make the list. Glad to see some cult favourites I've been searching out, like Wonder Showzen make the list. I think Dexter should have been placed higher.
The list started off perfectly, and then got progressively more random, I feel.

Scrubs is awesome
Skippord
11-17-2009, 06:03 PM
I only watch 4 of those shows
guess I fail television
Decent list, but as many have said, some glaring ommissions.
Scrubs, Oz, Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy. Can understand UK shows like Peep Show, Phoenix Nights, League of Gentlemen not being there though.
Hold up. Was The X-Files on there!?
Skippord

I don't think the Simpsons can count, XL

Nope.
List ended up being filled up by a lot of new shows (1-2 years and going on) or shows that barely lasted 3 seasons and ended up getting voted based on potential without the normal decline a series gets as it gets older.
I guess not as it started in 89.
Nope.

Woah.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the inclusion of shows like Arrested Development or even Veronica Mars. But at the expense of a seminal show like The X-Files!?

I would say they only are going by the strict 1999-2009 for criteria but then Buffy shouldn't count since that started in 1997 and it's on the list. Also #28 only started this year and ended up taking a spot on the list and only did 6 episodes so far.

I believe they are only counting shows that had their best seasons during the 00s
Indifferent Clox

or a majority of their seasons
Always sunny should be on there. I need to watch breaking bad, apparently. This is a great list. A few others that need to be on there (family guy for sure)

There are some amazing shows on this list, as good as some films. This is the first decade that has happened, IMO.

I hate people who say they "hate TV" and things like "TV rots your brain" and they "don't own a television."
There are a lot of incredible TV shows. You just have to pick and choose the right ones.
p.s. I am not saying you are a dickhead, but people who say things like that are pieces of shit.

i agree, but look at the 90s, i mean aside from a few key shows, it was utter shit on tv. Now there are a lot of shows that are great, not necessarily less bad, but def. more good.
this stems from the amount of channels increasing exponetnially and the fact that now most telivision channels have original programming, which allows for more ideas.
I wish this could happen to the radio.

I'm not saying that there aren't good tv shows out there, I just personally find it kind of difficult to become invested in a show when there are so many other things I could be doing that I would find more entertaining. Like, since the new season started, the only shows I've watched are Heroes and I'll have the late night talk shows on in the background when I get ready for bed. I guess saying I 'hate' tv was a poor choice of words, there's just very little I've seen that actually piques my interest.

Good list. Deadwood is too high but all the big ones are there
To whoever was mentioning it, to me at least, the X-Files typifies 90's television, not 00's. And most of its run was in the 90's anyhow.
Dunno about the rest of y'all.
