One of the big arguments against my saying that fighters like Pat Barry should be paid decently by the UFC was the big money sponsorships...

Reason why I'm stating this?

Up until recently, they had banned Affliction. I understand in part due to Affliction having its own promotion, but it was also one of the bigger sponsors for the sport.

Other banned sponsors that I'm aware of are:
Full Tilt Poker
Ultimate Bet Poker (IIRC)

Seriously, whenever the person in MMA I'm always bitch about gets a wild hair up his ass, he bans certain sponsors. Who gets hurt the most by the banning of sponsors? The fighters.

Let the Flaming of the 'Kai begin.

There are plenty of banned sponsors and Dana doesn't ban sponsors on the basis of a wild hair. There is a fee that sponsors have to pay to the UFC in order for them to be official sponsors, if they don't pay (Stitch's One More Round for example); than fighters can't wear that brand into the octagon. Has nothing to do with a wild hair, has everything to do with business.

By the way, not flaming you, just saying. You seem in such a rush to villlanize Dana White that you ignore the fact that it's a business for the UFC as well, not just the fighters. AND Dana White, while he is the face of the company has a lot less to do with sponsor bans than say the Fertitas.

Fair enough.

It's still fucked up, though.
