Chris Jericho came out for a promo and said there have been eight TLC matches. He said DX hasn't been in one. He said he's been in two. He added that he's a winner and DX are losers. Jericho called out Teddy Long for not respecting him. Long came out and booked a non-title match between Jericho and Undertaker for later in the show.

The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Tyme. Tyson Kidd interrupted Shad's attempted pin. Kidd threw JTG out of the ring. David Hart Smith hit his Saito suplex on shad for the win.

There was a backstage promo with John Morrison asking Teddy Long for an opponent on tonight's show. Vickie Guerrero and Eric Escobar interrupted. Vickie wanted Escobar to have a title shot. Long agreed to book the match. He said it was Escobar's only shot at the Intercontinental Title.

CM Punk came to the ring. He said he will still try to help people change their lives. He introduced Luke Gallos, who is better known as Festus. He blamed his previous condition on years of drug abuse. Punk claimed he helped him out of his previous mental state to where he is now. Punk pulled a copy of Jeff Hardy's new DVD out of a brown bag. He said Hardy ruined all his fan's lives. He said he was like a prophet and noted that the last chapter of the DVD featured his final match in WWE.

Matt Hardy interrupted Punk. He called Jeff a free spirit who has his flaws. They continued to bicker and it set up a match between the two.

Matt Hardy defeated CM Punk by DQ. Gallos (a/k/a Festus) pulled Hardy from the rope. He slingshotted Hardy, punched him, and then Punk kicked him. Punk also hit Hardy with a running knee. Festus pulled Hardy from the ground and slammed him to the mat.

Backstage, Josh Matthews asked Mickie James what her feelings are regarding Michelle McCool and Layla's attacks on her over the last couple weeks. Mickie said she's not leaving. She said she worked hard and won't leave Smackdown because juvenile pranks don't bother her.

Batista defeated Kane via countout in a No. 1 contender's match. Batista hit Kane's leg with a chair outside the ring, causing Kane to be counted out. Great match. Lot of Nearfalls. Batista worked on Kane's leg. Kane kicked out a spear and Batista kicked out of a clothesline before the finish.

John Morrison defeated Eric Escobar to retain the Intercontinental Title. Morrison won with Starship Pain. Quick match. Afterward, Vickie screamed at Escobar and said they were finished. She left the ring to a bunch of boos.

Backstage, Eric Escobar met up with Vickie Guerrero. He told her that she's disgusting and broke up with her. She was steaming.

Undertaker defeated Chris Jericho by DQ in a non-title match. Batista joined Matt Striker and Todd Grisham on commentary for the match. Taker was going for the Tombstone when Batista hit the ring and took out his leg. Batista hit Taker repeatedly with chairshots.

Batista flexed while standing over Taker. Batista and Jericho punched Taker. C.M. Punk ran in and it became a three-on-one. Kane finally came out and cleaned house. Taker chokeslammed Batista. Taker then chokeslammed Punk while Kane chokeslammed Jericho at the same time. Taker posed with belt and Kane.

So Festus was finally indeed repackaged. Interesting.

At least they're finally doing something with Festus. Interested to see how he looks.

I'm glad they changed his name. It's hard to take a guy named "Festus" seriously. Luke Gallos is definitely a step up. Gallos is young, quite talented for his size, and will get a lot of heat being aligned with Punk. I wish that they would call up Kaval to be part of Punk's forces, though.

The situation with Eric Escobar is interesting. I hope they're not pulling the plug on him already. I know he's not exactly popular around these parts, but I was quite impressed with Escobar's ring work against Jimmy Wang Yang on Superstars recently. He also frequently has good showings in FCW. Hopefully this leads to a face turn for Escobar. Calling Vickie disgusting might get people to care about him. A feud with Mike Knox could be intriguing.

Sounds awesome. Glad to see Festus working again.

Yeah, Festus' heel turn should be quite intriguing to see. I am a little disturbed to see 2 DQ's and a countout as finishes. Maybe setting up for some sort of "Chairs match" or something for the TLC PPV, where chairs (and preferably chairs only) would be legal for use as weapons in his match v. 'Taker.

<font color=goldenrod>Just got home, seems like a show I wouldn't be too thrilled by if I watched on TV, but being there live automatically makes it an awesome experience.

For the record, Festus/Luke Gallows looks hella different. When he first came out it took me a few minutes to realize who it was...he had a beard, was wearing a black tank top, camo pants, a skull cap, and when that came off he's now also fully bald.</font>

Well this ruins everything

If wrestling was actually cool there could be a good stable war. The straight edges vs. some stable of wild party animals.

Like imagine Punk's brainwashed army of straight edges vs. the cool DX from back in the day.

LOL but imagine that feud now. SQUASH. DX making lame jokes and ruining everything, acting like goofs. What's so disappointing is Michaels and H know how to perform and know how to add intensity, they just seemingly choose not to.

TBK, Jeff Hardy, and william Regal could have been perfect for that.

Ol Dirty Dastard

lol not really, only Jeff Hardy and a band of "misfits" or something would work. Casual fans know jackshit about TBK and Regal's troubles.

Though I wouldn't call TBK's weed habbit troubles, I'd call it the WWE sucking and blowing at the same time like they always do.

I'm willing to bet that Josh Matthews' first words in his Mickie James interview will be "Joining me backstage at this time..."

I hate that so much.

Apart from that, the rest has my interest so I will watch this week.

I liked Fetus when he was in a tag team with Jess since the 2 sides changing based on a ring bell was unique but him being repackaged as a lacky of Punk should be interesting in the long run. Might be good to have Punk form a stable to take up some time while he is away from the main event/title scene or until Batista-Undertaker feud is over

Gotta admit I'm very excited about this. Glad they repackaged Festus into Luke because the guy has talent, and we hasn't going anywhere with that name and that look.

Hopefully this does lead to a big movement on the SD brand and Punks army grows. Could the E be bringing in a new version of The Second City Saints?! Granted Luke isn't from Chi Town, but thats very easy to change.

Giving Batista a new bad-ass attitude just before he goes to Washington, D.C. was not exactly the smartest of moves. Putting Batista against The Undertaker will work. I hope they work out some way to do a "Chair Match" that is actually interesting. "Chairs Are Legal" just seems weak to me. In Table Match and Ladder Match there is a specific way to win.

I still want to see Drew McIntyre join up with CM Punk, for whatever reason. Punk, Luke Gallos, Drew McIntyre and Kaval. There is a stable I could get behind. Let them feud with R-Truth, Cryme Tyme & Slam Master J.

Hmm. Part of me would like to see Danielson debut solo, though. I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about the guy as a face in the WWE.

Mr. Nerfect
11-25-2009, 11:37 PM
Actually, no, I concede. Bryan Danielson in CM Punk's group would be great. He can talk about the problems his mentors, Shawn Michaels and William Regal had. Danielson can talk about how he spends every waking moment thinking about his craft, and being the best at it, so he doesn't have time to poison himself.

Danielson can feud with John Morrison, and either win the Intercontinental Title, or come really close. Eventually, CM Punk becomes a little threatened by Danielson (who would hopefully be having great matches all the time). Punk orders Gallos, Kaval and perhaps even McIntyre (if he's in the group) against Danielson. This can lead to a WrestleMania match between Bryan Danielson and CM Punk -- perhaps over the Intercontinental Championship. And, as I'm sure Matt Striker will remind us as he hopefully calls the match, the Intercontinental Title has headlined WrestleMania before, and these two men have restored it to a level where it is once again an attraction at WrestleMania.

I've only watched SD on and off for the past few years so I haven't noticed, but is it my imagination, or is Striker trying to play a heel commentator without actually being straight heel?

Mr. Nerfect

I saw the IC Title match. Was nothing great, but nothing too spectacular. I actually like Escobar enough. He just needs an interesting program. Well, any sort of program. Have Vickie Guerrero use her "consultant" powers to get Chavo Guerrero on SmackDown!, and put Guerrero & Escobar together as a tag team.

No, that seems to be what he is doing.

RatedGSuperstar

I think Striker may be trying to continue what J.R. was doing at times on SmackDown, which was just being the "smart" commentator. If a heel did something smart but bended the rules, he commended them for it. I remember J.R. being a supporter of C.M. Punk when the heel turn first started, talking about how smart Punk was to capitalize on opportunities and avoid risks unlike Jeff Hardy.

Striker's been less subtle about it, but I do like it. To me, matches are a lot more fun to watch when both announcers don't spend the entire time complaining about a heel's tactics.

It annoys me how Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole are apparently best buddies. There's no tension there, so they might as well be saying the same thing. King needs to be freshened up, badly. Either that, or he needs to be given time off, and someone else should work on RAW.

They aren't really allowed to have tension with one another. They have shit constantly being yelled into their ear and are pretty much told how to play their characters, from what I've been led to understand. If Jerry lawler was given freedom I bet you he'd be 100000000000000x more entertaining even if he just babbled about puppies for hours.

Not to mention Lawler doesn't even follow the product. Taken from the main page.

At television this past week, both Jesse Ventura and Jerry Lawler were given graphics on the announcers desk, or cheat sheets, to look at that have the photos of all the wrestlers in multiple person matches. In Lawler’s case, he never watches ECW nor Smackdown!. In the case of Ventura for the Breakthrough Battle Royal, he likely wouldn’t have known most of the wrestlers in the match, plus with both going live there was no chance to edit later.

heh, you should have seen the UK edition.

Straight from Unlimited title shots vs Kane to Taker vs Jericho. I thought it was strange the the IC title would main event, but it went after. Then that match ended, the backstage bit wasn't shown and the show ended with Batista coming out to do commentary on the Taker vs Jericho match.

This was after the Punk promo from when he introduced the new Festus ws cut, up until the point that Hardy came out criticising him for slating Jeff Hardy which we didn't even hear.

I'm downloading from now on.

Oh, I have no doubt that is how they are told to play their characters. I just don't see the point. I would be much more entertained by King-Cole if King constantly bitched about how second-rate his partner was. There might as well just be Michael Cole calling matches on RAW the way the WWE handles things.

Ugh, if this is true, then I would fire Jerry Lawler. The man was good in the day, but he's easily replaced now. The WWE has got plenty of people who can replace King. Maybe JBL is ready to be re-hired and do some color commentary alongside Cole again?

Just for the record, the non-Raw people to appear in matches this past Monday: Dolph Ziggler, Finlay, CM Punk, R-Truth, Michelle McCool, Layla, Mickie James, The Harts, Cryme Tyme. Not exactly a group that would call for visual cues to get names right...the only ones that haven't been featured on Raw or PPV's in the recent past are the Harts; even R-Truth was at Survivor Series the night before.

I would think that kind of thing is unacceptable. Even if you can't see the shows due to travel, you should at least have a vague idea of storylines on the other shows and a rudimentary knowledge of everyone on the main roster. No wonder Vince has to feed lines to them -- Lawler doesn't have a clue what he's looking at half the time these days.
