That aren't just all about hiding and shooting and blowing stuff up. I kind of miss games like Sim Ant, and Theme Hospital where they are more open ended instead of just shooting everything in sight.

I miss games like the old Mario Bros. games, I mean there are still platform games available but it's just doesn't feel the same, not to me at least.

I will say the new Super Mario game looks awesome, but not awesome enough to buy a Wii just for that though.

I kinda just want a wii for the wii sports, wii fit, and big brain acedemy.

I remember the days of Sim City. I would build massive cities and then destroy them with tornadoes, earthquakes, etc and then rebuild them

Exactly, I think that is why the Civ series does so well, because it is just open ended and endless game play, and no one else does that.

I remember back when I played the Sim games there was an abundance of them b/c that is what everyone was into. I guess times have changed and the game market will only put out what the general interests are and I guess open ended games are not it. sucks really

If you want hospital building and fake ant farms, you're fucked, but there's plenty of "just fun" games on the market.

Also, get internet so you can check out XBLA.

You still get a lot of the City Building sort of games now but they're mostly restricted to PC and more often then not just not very good.

I understand a game has just came out called Tropico 3 on the 360 and the PC which is supposed to be quite good and fun and might be something you're after. It's focused on running a Carribbean Island during the Cold War, like I said might be something you're after.

They also just released something called Cities XL, which boasts a sort of Massively Multiplayer feature for city building. There's a Single Player mode for it which you just build up your city and as mentioned the Online features. From what I understand though it's apparently quite bland for Single Player but it is just open ended building a city.

If you have one the DS does have a great version of Sim City on it, along with Theme Park and now Populus. Theme Park looks pretty much exactly the same as the classic one so that might be up your alley.

That said I would fucking love to see Theme Hospital released again.

What KK said.

Also, you do know there is a civilization game for 360 right?

I was addicted to rollercoaster tycoon 2 for a while.

RCT 1 and 2 were two of my favorite games. Played them for fucking hours.

Same with Sim City 3k and The Sims.

It seems to me that when these games made the leap to "next gen" graphics they lost a lot of their charm and depth. I don't know what it is, but Sim City 4, RCT 3 (not played it though I can tell it dropped off) and Sims 2 just weren't as fun as the originals.

Yeah, xbox live arcade is your best bet as well as the indy game section. Tons of really creative and original games at cheap prices.

Gears of War can be frustrating at times.

I bought it and a few other games for cheap off ebay when I bought my Xbox, but I have only beaten the first mission (twice: once coop, once solo). It's an ok game I guess, but I mainly bought it for the local multiplayer and my brother and I beat the first boss and never really went back.

It wasn't bad with my brother because he had the sense to try and dodge the boss, as opposed to the computer guy that kept dieing whenever the monster charged because he just stood there. Took me over an hour to beat that thing because the cpu kept dieing a few seconds into the battle or else the monster wouldn't charge and knock down the walls. Not looking forward to going through that frustration over and over again to beat the whole thing. But I do need to beat some of the games I bought at that time and just trade them in for something I may actually play.

Left 4 Dead was the same way. Got it for multiplayer, beat the first campaign and never went back. Never really got into it.

I love L4D. I don't really know what is what about GoW that turned me away. I'm not saying it's a bad game but I just never got into it so of course I never got GoW 2

Don't get me wrong, I love me some violent games, but I just want some games like my cat idea. Well without it being a game for little girls. Like a game that is all ages that anyone can enjoy. Not unlike the lego series.

I'm thinking it would be more fun of a game if you were collecting workman's comp, and you wanted to go out and have a good time without being caught "not injured."
