Am I the only one looking forward to that match? I am still yet to see their match on SmackDown!, but I really love both guys. Morrison is just fantastic, and McIntyre just has some quality about him that makes me want to see him succeed.
Regardless of the outcome, I will be happy. Morrison makes a tremendous IC Champion; but there are only a few guys who can dethrone him, and I think Drew McIntyre is one.
Personally, I hope that Morrison hands McIntyre his first pinfall loss since he's returned, and that causes Drew to become obsessed with Morrison and winning the IC Title.

Their match on Smackdown was the highlight of the show (just like most of Morrison's matches on Friday nights).
I was kind of shocked that McIntyre went over him in such a clean fashion, barring the slam into the exposed steel ring support. If McIntyre goes over at TLC it will really establish him as a force, but if he doens't he might get lost in the fray or something. I have enough faith in the Smackdown writing team that they will know what to do.

Morrison is great but i only think he got the tittle due to rey's suspension.. IMO i bet a rey vs drew mac feud coulda went down...what this all means...Drew McIntrye to be new IC champ.

Their match on SmackDown! was fantastic, and McIntyre really dominated. They have good chemistry, so it's nice to hear the title will be on the line. The booking for the I.C. title has been great up to this point, and putting the belt on Drew would be a good move, IMO.
Either way, it should be a decent match at worst.

Maybe Morrison got the title due to Rey's suspension, but he has really shown how he deserves it.
If he loses to McIntyre at TLC, maybe they will pull a Kofi Kingston with him and get him involved in a main event push. Or maybe he could feud with CM Punk and his new "cult" stable. I can't see Morrisson going down from here; while it really solidifies McIntyre as a genuine persona.

i agree with el bobbo. it's seems as if morrison is "over groomed" and he derserves to be put in the main event spotlight already. hell even r-truth is already looking to head in that direction, so why not morrison?

Hopefully R-Truth gets swept under the table after his feud with Punk, and they set up an "epic" feud between Morrison and Punk. Have Punk regale the audience with his straight-edge stuff then have Morrison come out trippin' on Peyote just like the lizard king himself.
So many possibilities...

Morrison Punk could be THE feud of the next decade. Hopefully they take their time with it, because it's gonna be special.

But it will never be as special as DX v Jerishow week in and week out...

The upside to taking the title off Morrison, as you have said, is that it will allow him to move on to bigger and better things. And truthfully, I think Morrison could be one of those "wild cards" in the Royal Rumble that the WWE could hype up as a potential winner. He'd look more like a threat without the anchor of the IC Title, in my opinion.
Morrison could definitely be one of those "Shawn Michaels" type guys who hangs in the Rumble for a long time. Could definitely see him making the final four. I could also easily see Morrison starting off the match with The Miz. :y:

I like the idea of pushing the new guys which WWE has always done a great job at through the years and 2009 is definitely a testament to that, look how many young guys are getting the ball and given the chance to run with it. I would like to see Swagger get pushed as well as some of the others, which in due time I feel he will. He was used pretty well this year anyway so I can't really say anything bad. WWE for the most part has a pretty good roster.
However, I don't see how we get DX vs. Jerishow week in and week out since they only technically started feuded the night after Survivor Series and only got physically involved with each other this week. Yes, they did have a match when Ben Roethlesberger hosted. Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho are three of my favorites on the roster and I am a big fan of Big Show as well.

I hope Morrison loses only to have him be bumped up to main event status where he belongs..

Nobody does atm, that's why they're trying to build him

I have a better idea, let's change the name of TLC to "throwing rookies against the wall to see who sticks." I like this whole "pushing new guys" initiative, but I'm not in with being beaten in the skull with it.

Unless they plan on pushing Morrison to the main event scene which I highly doubt atm I can't see McIntyre going over no matter how high a pedestal they've put him on. It looked like before Rey was suspended it was gonna happen but it's as if they've put him back on the backburner as if they'd had something else planned. Besides they rarely put the IC Championship on big guys like him they just get thrust to the top or there stuck in midcard hell like Kane.

Exactly. The dude is new, and this is the WWE trying to get us to care.
On the topic of the the WWE trying to create new stars: I can't help but be a little suspicious of the guys the WWE are trying to shove down our throats. Specifically Sheamus. I do like Sheamus enough -- he has a good physique and has pretty good psychology for a brawler. But essentially, part of me feels that the WWE might be pushing him so that when he fails they have more reason to stick to the old guns.
I feel that is partially why we have had the same guys on top for years. After Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock left, there were only a few "Attitude era" stars left. The more the young guys fail, the stronger the precedent for the older guys to cling on to their spots. Instead of pushing the young talent that makes perfect sense (John Morrison, Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler and even MVP, although you can't really consider him "young"), the WWE seems to be going out their with some bizarre choices.

I wish they had ways to push rookies on Raw and Smackdown that didn't involve titles. This is a little soon.

Their mini feud in ECW was the best thing going for a while. Excited to see this restart in the upper midcard/main event on a "real" (by their reckoning, anyway) WWE show.

I was glad to see this happen. It was an important step which will help serve as the catalyst for McIntyre to become a WWE or World Heavyweight Champion down the road.

The booking of the IC Title has been great lately. The title hasn't just been thrown on anybody with a pulse. I hope that they allow this to really boost McIntyre's resume. And this doesn't really hurt Morrison, who had a fantastic run with the title, and is now freed from having a "secondary" belt on him, so he can say "look guys, I'm going to try and be World Heavyweight Champion now."
I can't remember who said it (for some reason, I think it might have been the Supreme Olajuwon), but in the WrestleMania card prediction, someone suggested Batista vs. John Morrison for WrestleMania. I think that would be fantastic. :y:
