Who do you think will win the 2010 Royal Rumble?

I am thinking something like this will happen:
Sheamus/Cena ends in a clusterfuck and the WWE Championship is held up and will be decided in the Royal Rumble (Ric Flair Style!) Then, in an epic hour performance...

Would mark like a bitch if Jericho or Christian won it, and you could make a strong case for either one.
If anyone "new" is winning it, it will be Kofi. Has to be.

Wouldn't that e a fucking awesome way to deut a guy? Have him start out at like number 24 or something, kind of a who is this guy kind of thing after he eliminates someone big like HBK. And then he goes all the way to win B/c Anything can happen in the WWE. He goes to nWo faces HBK. and at mania faces John Cena or Triple H for the world title. GOLD.

Jericho 10-1
Punk 15-1
Kofi 15-1
HHH 20-1
Orton 20-1
Edge 30-1
Cena 1-1
I'd actually like to see someone get a "fluke" win. Like, once all 29 guys are out, everyone is eliminated just before #30 makes their entrance, so they win by default.
Could work well for someone like DiBiase, and they focus entirely on the build to Mania, having everyone doubt him and eventually overcoming the odds (not Cena style, though).
Actually, this would be perfect for Edge if they could guarantee him being ready for Mania. Just don't have him wrestle until Mania.

I hate how the Rumble always goes to guys who are already established as huge main eventers/former champs these days.
I wish it would be used to elevate stars. I loved back when Shawn Michaels and Austin won the rumbles as a stepping stone to becoming main event stars at Wrestlemania, rather than have an existing title contender win the thing every year.
The last time they used the Rumble that way was 2005, when it came down to Cena and Batista and Bats won. That's how I like to see it used.

I like your idea. That would be awesome to see if that is how things transpire. Triple H can win this hypothetically and go to Mania as champ. HBK can become Number One Contendor at No Way Out and Bam we have a phenomenal main event for Wrestlemania where HBK wins his final title.

I can't help shake the feeling that John Cena will win. Even though I can't see him dropping the WWE Title to Sheamus. My guess is that Cena either loses the WWE Title at the Rumble (possibly to Triple H after The Game wins a Beat the Clock Challenge to become #1 Contender), and he then enters the Rumble anyway, and goes on to win...OVERCOMING THE ODDS!!!!
That's if the WWE plans to do Taker vs. Cena or Batista vs. Cena. It's the easiest way to explain a move to SmackDown! for Cena. Hell, part of me can even see Cena winning as WWE Champion, and them doing Cena versus one of those guys with both World Titles on the line (although not a unification match -- the winner will just appear on both shows until he loses one of the titles).
Kofi Kingston seems like the best dark horse pick. He's on a roll, and in some ways he is like a newer, more sober version of Jeff Hardy. They don't even need to give him the WrestleMania title shot. He can be screwed out of the shot by Randy Orton, or someone, and that can lead to his WrestleMania feud.
Part of me feels that you can't count out Chris Jericho, either. It feels like his reign with Big Show is about to come to an end, and I think that DX will use the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship as part of their story until they either break-up, or have a friendly rivalry develop for Mania (perhaps for the WWE Title). The SmackDown! main event seems a lot less clear than the RAW one, and if Edge is not going to be back for WrestleMania, and if Cena has something else going on for Mania, why not just do Taker vs. Jericho for the World Heavyweight Title? Easiest way to set that up is Jericho winning the Rumble, in my opinion.
If the WWE wants to go with a shock winner, though -- I would have Santino Marella take the thing. He plays dead on the outside, but comes in occasionally to dump a few guys when they aren't looking. Two guys are brawling near the ropes at the end, and Santino runs in and dumps them both out. You can then do a storyline where everyone wants the Mania title shot, because there is no way that Vince will let a joke like Santino headline WrestleMania.
It could even lead to a Vince McMahon vs. Santino Marella match at WrestleMania. Sure, it wouldn't be Austin vs. McMahon, but it could be bizarrely entertaining. Of course, the idea behind this would be to have Santino reveal that he has got some ability and brains to his name, and he could grow to be a top guy.

I'd like to see Edge win it to pretty much round of his resume. Or Jericho, as one of the most consistent performers in the company I feel he should have a much bigger accomplishment profile.

What reason do they need?! The Kofi - Orton feud has been the best thing on Raw since it started and they're pushing someone who derserves it up the card. Kofi pinning Orton at Survivor Series was one of the moments of the year for me.
I don't think Kofi will win the rumble though. The only thing i'm sure of is that it will be someone who's won it before. Probably one of DX. I'll be rooting for Punk on the night though obviously.

The following is the full list of WWE Royal Rumble Winners from 1988 and on: » 1988 Winner: Hacksaw Jim Duggan - first ever winner of event.
» 1989 Winner: Big John Studd (via eliminating Ted DiBiase).
» 1990 Winner: Hulk Hogan (via eliminating Mr. Perfect).
» 1991 Winner: Hulk Hogan (via eliminating Earthquake).
» 1992 Winner: Ric Flair (via eliminating Sid Justice).
» 1993 Winner: Yokozuna (via eliminating Randy Savage).
» 1994 Winner(s): Bret Hart/Lex Luger - both men eliminated each other at same time to become '94 co-winners.
» 1995 Winner: Shawn Michaels (via eliminating British Bulldog).
» 1996 Winner: Shawn Michaels (via eliminating Diesel).
» 1997 Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin (via eliminating Bret Hart).
(Note: Bret Hart originally eliminated Austin when officials were not looking but Austin rolled back in and continued the match to eliminate Hart)
» 1998 Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin (via eliminating The Rock).
» 1999 Winner: Vince McMahon (via eliminating Steve Austin).
» 2000 Winner: The Rock (via eliminating Big Show).
» 2001 Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin (via eliminating Kane).
» 2002 Winner: Triple H (via eliminating Kurt Angle).
» 2003 Winner: Brock Lesnar (via eliminating The Undertaker).
» 2004 Winner: Chris Benoit (via eliminating Big Show).
» 2005 Winner: Batista (via eliminating John Cena).
» 2006 Winner: Rey Mysterio (via eliminating Randy Orton).
» 2007 Winner: The Undertaker (via eliminating Shawn Michaels).
» 2008 Winner: John Cena (via eliminating Triple H).
Mysterio's title reign was booked very poorly.
Take Mysterio from 08/09 and make him Champion. Now that would be something worth watching.

I have been saying this for a while.
Kofi loses to Orton at TLC.
They have a rematch at Rumble, Kofi wins.
Kofi and Orton enter the Rumble, Kofi eliminates Orton and goes on to win the Rumble.
Orton then demands a match against Kofi for his title shot, ala v Rey in at NWO 2006, but loses this time, ending the feud between them and hopefully putting Kofi over as a legitmate #1 contender.
Mr. Nerfect
12-12-2009, 12:07 AM
The more I think about it, the more I think that Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton could extend their program to WrestleMania. I mean, between TLC and WrestleMania, there are only like two PPVs, and those have themes for the top stars (Rumble and Elimination Chamber).
At TLC, you could have Legacy run-in and beat-down Kofi Kingston causing the disqualification. Orton can then punt Kofi, or something, and he says that since he can't contend for the WWE Championship, he doesn't care about winning and losing. Basically he puts Kofi out of mind as being beneath his attention, and thinks it's over with the punt.
At the Rumble, Randy Orton has entered either to get around his ban on challenging for the WWE Title (which I suspect it will be), or so he can jump to SmackDown! and challenge for the World Heavyweight Title. Orton is in the ring when Kofi Kingston makes his return, and Kofi goes right after Orton and eliminates Randy, ruining his dreams of being World Champion again. Orton then grabs Kofi's arm, or something, and Ted DiBiase manages to dump him out, and then continues the match, perhaps even making it to the Final Four.
Kofi Kingston then qualifies for the WWE Title Elimination Chamber Match (or for a shot at the title come WrestleMania). On the way to the ring, however, he is attacked by Orton, which would make it the second year in a row something of the sort has happened to Kofi. To show his growth as a character, though, Kofi makes it into the Chamber match, eventually, and puts up a hell of a fight, but is obviously hurting, and he is eliminated fairly easily.
This simply leads to Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania in a No Holds Barred Match. Kofi can thwart Orton, Rhodes & DiBiase here, and come out the grand victor with a huge WrestleMania moment. You could perhaps sweeten things by having the stipulation that if Orton wins, he can once again challenge for the WWE Title.

I wouldn't bet on him, or anything, but if the WWE are really trying to create new stars, then something like this would be an instant "look out for this guy" push. Especially if Morrison jumps to RAW and challenges for the WWE Title, held by Shawn Michaels.
Even if Morrison faced The Undertaker, it could be an interesting program. Especially if Morrison goes right into his character, and becomes the beacon of revolutionary energy that will triumph over the darkness. I don't think they'd let Morrison end The Undertaker's streak, but Morrison has earned comparisons to Shawn Michaels, and given how good those two worked together, you could no doubt get an exciting match.
I still get the feeling that Morrison and The Miz might be #1 and #2, and that Morrison will get an epic run in the Rumble -- perhaps to third place, or something.

I still think Orton's most intriguing opponents right now are based in the mid-card. Namely Kofi Kingston and Ted DiBiase. They did have Orton defeat Kingston at TLC, so that might be the end of that; but even so, I could easily see them doing Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase with Cody Rhodes as the special guest ref.
