View Full Version : Things you hate about WWE DVD's

Two things for me.

1. The non-documentary format, where they will talk for a minute or two, then go to a match, then talk for a few minutes after that, then go to a match again. Basically what they did on the Macho Man DVD set. I hate that with a passion.

2. The ridiculous editing of superstars theme music. An example would be from the Wrestlemania anthology box set, Wrestlemania 6 in particular, they didn't use Demolition's original theme music at all, or Dusty Rhode's "American Dream" song, they just replaced it with some god awful generic music that you would get from a music keyboard or something, all that complete with a very dull Howard Finkel voice over on the ring announcing.

I hate DVD documentaries that are half kayfabe and half shoot. If they're going to kayfabe, do it all kayfabe. If it's a shoot, keep it a shoot.

Pretty much agree with CWK. I like when they have the long documentary, then have matches as extras, not a few minutes of talking, followed by a match over and over.

Same with editing. I can understand blurring the WWF logo, as annoying as it is, but the music etc is really annoying.

Only thing I hate is the constant editing/attempted but so often failed, blurring of the scratch WWF logo...

Commercial breaks during matches that aired on TV. I paid to see full matches, so I expect to see them in their entirety.

I agree with all that's been said, but this pisses me off the most.

The 'Don't try this at home' clip that you can't skip at the start

And yeah the music thing is annoying. The documentary first then matches after format is always much better too.

Commercial breaks. The camera was still rolling, so why not just cut out the commentary and show the match?

And the editing... I can stand the blur and censors with WWF, but when you show footage from the attitude era or a time where WWE had some more balls it kinda sucks. I want to hear the word ass. I want to hear Lita say she's a slut. I want to hear Vince McMahon say he likes cock. Just go balls out, make DVDs tv14, and enjoy it.

Yeah I hate not being able to skip through that, and it gets worse.... If you get some of the newer releases, Army National Guard has an ad on the WWE DVD's now and you can't skip through that either, so now you have to watch both the Army National Guard ad, and the WWE "Don't Try This at Home" ad.

Very upsetting.

"Don't pretend wrestle, but do go into a warzone with guns and bombs and shit."

Mixed messages?

All I hate is that I own so much wrestling stuff that the WWE hasn't come out with a DVD that I haven't owned the majority of the matches already. It used to be I would buy like 2 or 3 DVD's a year but I haven't bought a new WWE DVD in a year and a half.

That's more my fault than anything else.

All the edits and stuff are minor annoyances but I'm get the DVD's to just watch matches so I doen't bug me too much.

Somethings mentioned already like the music changes, and the "dont try this at home" ad. But also the fact there arent even as many extras anymore. You would figure all the internet stuff they do for ppvs, would be put on dvds, but they usually arent. Plus, since the cameras are rollling anyways, I wish they would put the pre-ppv dark match on the ppv dvds.
