Yea, gotta agree with this. The sponsor's point that most of the imagery and symbols predate Nazi Germany is true, but they're still sensitive to use due to the fact that they will always now be associated with Nazism. Sorta like the swastika. It's been a Hindu and Jain religious symbol for thousands of years but is pretty much forever tainted in the West due to it's relationship with Nazism.

They do depict alot of german military references on their clothing, and that is going to cause a degree of offence. And the fact is, they aren't refering to the nature of the style of the Nazis, which is quite renound, but to simbolic designs which are references to the violence of the nazis. The Iron cross I see no issue with, but they do have a skull in a german military helmet on one shirt.... That sort of thing wouldn't wash on any other TV show at that time of night.
That being said, if this was Afliction or Ed Hardy written on the front, and not a german name, would it be a similar situation?
Who knows.

Yeah.
It "sucks" because I really do enjoy the designs, icons and style of Nazi Germany.
But that shit went out the window long ago never to be seen again.
