The Right After Wrestling show on Sirius radio sent out the following announcement, regarding their interview with Hulk Hogan, and his claims as far as his TNA debut goes…
HOGAN SAYS THAT TNA IMPACT RATINGS WILL “TRIPLE” ON JANUARY 4
When interviewed by Arda Ocal and Corey Erdman of the “Right After Wrestling” program on SIRIUS 98, Hulk Hogan predicted that Nielson ratings would triple to a 3.0 on his debut appearance on TNA Impact on Monday January 4. Hogan went on to list names such as AJ Styles and Matt Morgan as guys with “something there” and that he will look to mold and “bring to life”.
The full interview will air on “Right After Wrestling” on Monday night December 14 at 11pm EST on SIRIUS Channel 98, Hardcore Sports Radio.

What would you want him to say? That ratings will probably be lackluster and that it will take time for TNA to be able to actually compete with WWE? He's putting TNA over. He even went on the UFC show last Saturday and put TNA over and "declared war" on WWE. He'd look like a bigger clown if he was going around saying "Well I hope Vince and company don't cream us and we're actually able to draw something higher than a 1.0."

No chance of TNA getting a 3.0..... Spike can't even get a 3.0 for a free UFC card

I was going to say when you triple 0 you still end up with 0 but I guess they were actually getting a 1 in the ratings.
Maybe he should have also said that the PPV buy rates will quintuple since they were barely pulling 20,000 buys.

Saying TNA will draw a 3.0 is like saying Raw will draw a 9.6 (were he to appear on their show) so hes being fuckin ridiculous

I think he doesn't understand ratings. You know, he thinks a 3.0 means 3 people are watching.

I think he might be able to get a 2.0 maybe a 2.5 but not a 3.0 it's just too hard to get RAW fans off of watching. Unless, they are old or Brand new and exclusive Hogan fans
Let me put it this way: TNA couldn't pull off a better rating when they went against RAW in the normal timeslot.
I'm not saying they won't go up, but I seriously doubt anything over a 1.8.

Well...one of two things will happen here. Either we will all be eating our own crap, or Hogan will. I have to say that is quite a prediction on his part. And just so everyone knows, everyone I know who is NOT much of a fan but is aware of the business might take an interest in his debut, simply because they recognize him.

TNA has the possibility of going to a 1.5-2.0 but Hogan is crazy since TNA would be going up against WWE and the BCS bowl week. I think its the Fiesta Bowl that might be on that night.

well if they add both of the showings ratings together, I'm sure they'll get a 3.0.
you know you are going to watch one of them. Everyone here just about.

Yeah I'm probably going to flip back and forth between the Boise State-TCU game, Raw, and TNA during the whole night. Probably more on the Boise-TCU and Raw for most of the night.

You guys have it all wrong, he said triple. 0.7 x 3 = 2.1.

and if you do some convoluted math where you add both ratings together, it probably will beat RAW.

What's sad is that the keyword here is "probably".

What would you want him to say?
How about "things will take off" or "a new age of TNA will begin?" That way if ratings go up by .01 he can claim to have been right. When he says "ratings will triple," his only hope of being right is that enough Hogan marks and train-wreck-gawkers will tune in to triple the ratings on that one day.
Of course knowing Hogan he's probably had a house full of hundreds of thousands of Nielsen-wired TV's set to turn on the show that night, so...

I'd be willing to bet he features primarily in the first hour to prove he draws, whereas the last 2 will be when Raw is on, and their ratings will plunge.

TNA would be crazy not to give the viewers an AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe rematch on the show, and that would help highlight TNA to new fans.
TNA would be hard pressed to pull a 3.0 with someone like Austin or Rock showing up in the company, let alone Hogan, who has far less star power these days.
The man is smoking crack.

I'm guessing they'll pull somewhere in the range of maybe 1.2-1.6 if they're lucky when they go against Raw on 1/4/10.

the word on the WWE Buzz is they are trying to get Austin to guest host RAW on that night since Rock isn't available till a later date....does at least go to say that WWE is serving notice in a subtle way that they are paying attention to Hogan in TNA if indeed they are trying to get a big name like Austin to host RAW
