Here are some guesses as to what it may look like. http://www.businessinsider.com/xbox-720-ps4-designs-2009-12#will-the-playstation-4-be-encased-in-futuristic-clear-plastic-1

The 360, Ps3 & Wii have at least 5 more years. This generation (with the exception of Wii) is built to upgrade which is why the 360 is adding stuff to the dashboard and releasing Natal and the Ps3 is getting its wands (called Gem according to EA).
Every few years we get some site wondering how next gen consoles will look and it's always the same idea of shiney futuristic orbs or something.
Next gen consoles will look like like every gen before it. A plastic box coloured grey, white or black with a little light on the front.

Wii HD is supposed to happen in 2011 but I dont know whether thats a lame Sega 32x style add on or a whole new console.
What Would Kevin Do?

God, most of those look fucking stupid. The one looks like a goddamn Roomba. Not happening anytime soon anyway, but it's obviously the people who came up with that shit don't work in marketing.

I think it's an all new version of Wii, like they did with DS. They released DS - DS Lite - DSi - DSi XL.
Not a new console just an updated current one.

Yeah, I love when people project some new console and they go off the wall forgetting about marketing, design, and practicability.

One of those is totally just an ad for an iPhone related article of theirs: http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-holiday-gift-guide-2009-12#mophie-juice-pack-4
However, one of those is totally just that OnLive thing, which streams games over the internet, and has OnLive on the little box thing and LIVE on the ABXY buttons

5 years seems quite extreme.

There's a DSi XL now?
Actually, after just googling ti, it looks like an upgrade I might buy. But Wii HD is just a rumour, yes? And with a 2011 speculated release, that's in keeping with current generational changing of the guards, it seems quite likely it'll be more than just an update.
Then again, no speculation is more ridiculous than those next gen console predictions. Seriously, it's like every time a new system is supposed to come out, they try and Jetsonise the shit as much as possible.

I think it's a safe bet. That Reggie guy from Nintendo* said about 2 months ago that the Wii still has a lot of life in it. Plus Sony & Microsoft are not going to release things like Natal & "Gem" when they could hold it off until next gen unless next gen is still a few years away. MS even said launching Natal would be treated like launching a new console.
Actually, I think I've heard Nintendo and MS say that this gen will be a long one at some stage and I thought Sony had a "10 year plan" for the Ps3.
* I think it was Reggie. I can't check right now, I'm using the Wii to post right now.

I think XB360 will out the longest before being succeeded. Wii should get an HD upgrade in 2 or so years and PS3 will almost certainly do something once they come to their senses.
I have nothing to support this.

Of course he said that. He's not going to say the Wii has already peaked and there is not much left for it.

Yeah, Reggie isn't exactly going to tip his hand. I mean, he's just shot down the Wii HD again, hasn't he?
Developing Natal and (Gem) now actually makes sense in terms of future integration, especially if it's hardware a current owner can transfer to the new unit. These are all ridiculous bits of speculation.
