Once the code is punched in and you have the license, you should have no problems.
Cool, that's a relief.

Looks like Warner Bros backed off a bit on the Online Pass for Catwoman since now they struck a deal with Gamestop only that allows both new and used copies access to the Catwoman content. The code would be printed on the receipt of the game.
All other places that sell or rent used copies of the games do not get the same deal.

This might be the first time in almost a decade that I've been itching to buy a video game. And I'm hating myself because I'm in Europe and I left my fucking 360 at home for my fucking brother to use.
I guess it'll be that much better when I finally do get to play it...

I'm with the article: WTF's the logic? The idea of these passes is to combat used game sales, and they're taking the largest threat and striking a deal with them?
Mr. C

Crap, I thought the code for Catwoman was like an add-on similar to Joker as a playable character in Arkham Asylum. Like, you can download her as a playable character and her missions once you enter in the code. Why would they require you to be connected to the web to actually play as Catwoman?
I won't be bothered to hook my PS3 up to my computer just to be her. You don't even need to complete her missions to beat the game anyway. I might would reconsider though, if they'd give us alternate skins, like TAS Catwoman.
EDIT: NEVERMIND!

But if WB are taking a cut or striking a deal that gets them money from the used game market anyway, don't they win regardless?

Assuming that's the case. So far, it looks like it's a non-monetary deal.

I highly doubt it's non monetary. Gamestop had to shill out some cash for that deal.

Epilogue: Got it, played it for about 3 hours before I have to go to bed. It is pure bliss. I love this game so much I want to lobby Congress to change the legal definition of marriage so I can make this game my bride.
Probably put my pre-order in today.
For the record, I hate all of you who are getting to play this game right now when I have to wait until fucking FEBRUARY to really sit down and play.
No, I love you all. Enjoy Arkham City. Be good to her.

Supposedly some people are having problems trying to activate the Catwoman code meant to be only for new copies with the solution by Warner Bros being a huge mess.
One of their readers contacted customer service and was asked to provide the following:
A dated proof of purchase (receipt, invoice) showing the purchase of a NEW copy of the game (not a rented or used copy, nor a copy purchased from eBay)
Your gamertag for Xbox Live, or your profile for the PSN
Your email address
A scan or digital picture of the package and game disc(s)
A scan or digital picture of the code sheet (both sides).
Even after giving WB all the info they needed, they only guarantee it means your complaint case gets processed a bit faster in the line and no guarantees of a code coming any time soon.

Yeah I'm pretty hooked as well. Love the fact they're cramming in so many villains as well. Noticed one flaw with the game so far though.
It seems like the game can give you access to the mission where you need to get through Zsazz's hideout and save his hostages before you're actually able to complete it. Since I was able to get it without having the ice thing to freeze bits of water, which it looks like is essential to get through that section.
Nowhere Man
10-24-2011, 03:37 AM
Nah, I was able to get through that part without the ice blast either. I just did it as a big jumping puzzle, which I'm pretty sure is how you're supposed to do it.
Just got it today. Got Arkham Asylum GOTY with it as a double pack from Walmart (came free, guessing it may have been the pre-order bonus). Have AA as it is, but it's scratched and stutters in places, so free game is free.
Probably gonna be sucked in. Can't wait.
Completed this last night. Absolutely incredible game. I'm just going around finishing up the side missions and riddler stuff. I'll be doing new game + when I finish.
Freeze was easily the best boss. The little cameos were awesome too.
I agree. Freeze was pretty awesome.

Damn, I'm like 6% in the game. Looking for Penguin/Freeze in the museum or whatever. Either I screw around too much or play too little, but yeah it is great game.
Well, there are two % numbers. One for main story and one for total completion, which is what you're looking at.
Game is amazing. Took me a bit to find my proper groove, but it's amazing. About the same place as drone in the story. I definitely will be screwing around a lot, there's just so much to do.
I think the best thing about this game is that it naturally expands from the original. They haven't changed the winning formula too much, just expanded on it.
On another note, for such a simple thing, I love the smoke bombs. Awesome to just drop one, swoop down, take someone out and disappear again.
Yeah, it definitely works. I am getting a little bit of "been there done that", but it's not a huge deal because the gameplay is pretty much perfect, and the story is awesome. There are very few games that make me want to do everything from collecting trophies to all the side missions, and this just makes me want to keep playing and playing.
If and when they do a third, I think they need to go all-out and do Gotham as a whole. Might need to wait for next gen, but it'd be more than worth it.
Step 3 should be going GTA-style with Batmobile/Batcycle. Would be fucking immense.

I finally have all the Riddler trophies.
Now for the true bane of my existence. Those shitty combat challenges.
I was wondering if there are more interview tapes that were in the first one? They were one of my favorite aspects of Asylum. I did find one, but it seemed to be a main part of the story.
It was Strange talking about Batman's parents in an alley and it set up a cut scene.

As you complete lines of riddles in the Riddler grid, you unlock things. One of the things you can unlock are interview tapes. There are quite a few of them, and they're all great.

I too just finished this off. Got less than a dozen Riddler trophies, and save the prisoners and I should be set. Then grind through the miserable challenge maps.
Really wasn't the big boss fight/ending I was expecting. Clayface being Joker's double caught me off guard. But I kinda knew Ra's Al Ghul was pulling Strange's strings. Unless they're gonna do a big League of Assassins vs. Order of Purity thing with Batman having to choose a side to save Gotham like Azrael said, don't really know how they're gonna pull off a third game.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that Batman: Arkham City has shipped more than 4.6 million units worldwide since its release last week. That's more than double what its predecessor, Batman: Arkham Asylum, sold in the same time period after its release in 2009.
Right now, Warner Bros. says Arkham City is the highest reviewed PS3 and Xbox 360 game of 2011 on Metacritic with average scores of 96 and 95, respectively.
"The true test for any game is what the players think and we have been thrilled by their reaction to Batman: Arkham City ,” said Sefton Hill, game director at Rocksteady Studios. “The team at Rocksteady put every ounce of effort into making the best Batman experience we possibly could, so we are overwhelmed by the incredible feedback from the community.”
The president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Martin Tremblay, says the success of Arkham City further establishes the Batman brand as a marquee franchise for the growing business, which is looking to build on that success in 2012. Warner Bros. has already made an agreement with CD Projekt to bring The Witcher 2 to the Xbox 360 and an anonymous source recently told the L.A. Times that the company is working on a new Lego Batman game, a Hobbit game to coincide with the feature film's release, and another game featuring an unidentified DC Comics superhero.
The PC version of Arkham City will be available on November 15.

On a side note, the pronunciation of Ra's Al Ghul. The only place I'd heard it spoken before was Batman Begins.

For real. I was reading through the Batman boards on IGN and saw where one guy was whining about how he almost got 1,000,000 in the Joker's Carnival. How's that possible!?

I felt the same way, thankfully I've completed all of them.
All you have to do is keep spamming the cape, and then do the beat down move. Obviously if someone runs up to you, just reverse their attack. Whenever you get a combo of 5, do the takedown where you disarm one of the bad guys. Also, keep an eye out for the guys that throw boxes or whatever, if you see one, toss a batarang their way.
Once you get into the flow of it, it's easy.

Warner Bros and Rocksteady Studios haven't officially confirmed nor have a solution to a potentially nasty problem affecting Xbox 360 versions where the game automatically erases or corrupts save files.
It appears the problem only starts to occur around the 6 hour played or 80% completion mark and could be related to the Catwoman DLC as the source of the problem.

It is a little harder. More enemies who take more hits to KO. The flashing warning sign before enemies attack has also been removed so it makes combat that bit harder. It's not really a problem until fighting the Joker.

Also there's a cheat code to play as the other skins without beating the game first.
All you have to do is reach the menu screen after you have selected your save slot, then enter: Left, Left, Down, Down, Left, Left, Right, Up, Up, Down.
That might just give me some motivation to finish the rest of the side missions.

If you already own Arkham City, you can buy Harley Quinn’s Revenge from PSN on May 29th and XBL on May 30th. Would be better if it was for free.
I won't spoil anything, but to get past steam you have to get a certain item first.
Ok so I was confused. The steam part led to a dead end. I literally played for an hour before I figured out how to hit two stop buttons at the same time.
The part I'm talking about has electricity on the ground.
I'm at the first boss now ( Giant one armed clown with hammer and friends ).
According to my game, I'm only 2% in, but I've played about 3 hours. Guess I'm slow.
Any of you with PS3, get the platinum trophy or currently working on it for this game?
Anyone played Harley's Revenge yet? Played and completed it yesterday. Ties up the story nicely, but is also a rumour killer for the sequel.
