as much as i love it, there isn't much suspense in the fights anymore. i seem to be able to accurately predict the winner 95% of the time, most of the championships are sewn up by fighters who are a class above the other people in their weight class too.

i honestly think there is a place for more weird superfighters or whatever, you know like pride used to have with the big stupid giants out of nowhere like zuluzinho or whatever.

i heard that polish strongman guy might be fighting aleks emelianenko, which is silly because he'll get killed. but i'd love to see him fighting kimbo or some other low level heavyweight. perhaps they can bring a weightclass or two from the WEC into the UFC too to mix things up a bit.

Don't be surprised if 135lbs and 145lbs titles get added to the UFC in the next 12 months now especially with the new Versus deal.

And GSP will move to 185lbs in the next 12months too. I asked him myself in Manchester and he told me the minute his regular training weight is 200lbs (it's currently around 190lbs), he is moving to middleweight.

Yea, I think injuries are a big part of it as of late too though.

Why not add a womens division and do an ultimate figher for em?:shifty:

Three issues:

1. both of the top draws (Carano and Cyborg) are under contract to Strikeforce
2. Dana White thinks the only use for women in MMA are as ring girls, ala Arianny.
3. Of the women available, one of the best I want to say is Shayna Bazzler (IIRC), who is a Josh Barnett Protoge'. Barnett is a UFC pariah. They will only ever show one fight of his in UFC: The one where Rizzo knocked him out.

The UFC could at least put in the effort to build up names. They don't have to put them on main card for a while. Carano is a big draw but Dana probably doesn't want a girl to draw more than his prized male fighters.

Dana has changed his tune lately on women's MMA but his story now is that he doesnt have the time to put into making a women's division and theres not enough competitors.

He waited too long, not thinking it would be marketable. In essence, he handed the women's division to Strikeforce.

to be fair, if gina carano had a face like a bag of chisels nobody would give a shit about womens MMA.

and if she wasnt at all decent as a fighter, dana would still be saying they have no place in the sport

it isnt marketable. Theres one competitor that people would pay to see.

plus it's probably a shitload of bad publicity if it goes mainstream. think of all the shit that has been said about womens boxing. strikeforce is at least pretty under the radar.

This added nothing to the discussion at all, but I guess we should all be impressed by that info?
