1 eddie-great worker, hillarious antics
2 kane-deserves sooooo much more than what he gets-biggest waste of talent ever
3 flair-flair cracks me up
4 benjamin-HUGE potential if they use him right and dont shove him down our throats
5 haas-great wrestler, huge star potential
6 christian-what a character
7 molly-she brought some symblance of dignity to the womens division
8 victoria-along with molly and jazz, brought some symblance of credibility to the womens division
9 batista-awsome physique, awesome powerhouse
10 orton-has some charisma, and is a descent character, but is WAY over-ratedIMO. not sure how he became the internet darling that he is.
11 jericho-always liked him for his antics moreso than his ring work. no one plays the cowardly smartass like jericho. biggest waste of talent ever.
12 hhh-can there be a main event without him. no. it sucks. he would probably be a descent character if it hadnt been shoved down our throats for the last four years.
13 benoit-a great technical wrestler, and does some exciting matches, but the man is boring. i personally dont think he is capable of carrying the company as the world champion, because he isnt entertaning enough. hey... ya know what would be different-a match that didnt end in the 'crossface'.
14 tejiri-has a unique style and i enjoy all his matches.
15 v1naaaaaah-i know that the talent is there. i enjoy his matches. i am not sure how the wwe can push him, though. but i DO know that the answer is NOT to have him have anything to do with that peace of human garbage, LITA.
16 cena-ya know, just when i started to like cena, wwe jumped the gun and turned him face. eventually that gimmicks gotta go. i dont think he will attain the world title with that gimmick. i hope he doesnt.
17 show-he's a fat piece of shit, but he's funny once in a while. at least he has character.
18 booker t-another internet darling who i just dont get. face or heel, his character annoys me.
19 rvd-HE SUCKS AND I F-UCKING HATE HIM. ive seen him sleepwalk through the same f'ucking match week in and week out for .....YEARS. its pitiful. i dont know why he's still on tv. people bitch about people who dont sell. this asshole dont sell his own offense. ever seen those elbows he throws. it looks like shit. his matches look like shit. f:uck'im.
20 hbk-he's still got it. needs an image overhaul. and a new theme music. 'boy toy' was alright for a young shawn micheals, but cmon. the guy's like forty.

I'll basically do a count down from 20 to 1, these aren't necessarly the best guys in the buisness, just my 20 most favorite guys in the buisness.

20. Shelton Benjiman
Three weeks ago and everyone on this forum thought that Charlie Haas was the meat and potatos of The Worlds Greatest Team, me included. However, this all changed the Samckdown before the draft when Shelton wrestled Charlie Haas in that gauntlet for a world title shot. Shelton proved himself that day, and since then he's only beated The Game twice. I love his deep arm drags, and his mic skills aren't too bad. I love the deep arm drags, the only thing that's missing is an established finisher, but it looks like they may be setting up the Stingers Splash as one of his staples. I can definitly see this kid moving on up soon.

19. Booker T
At first I thought Booker T was nothing more then a tag team wrestler. I was wrong. Next I didn't think he'd ever go farther then the WCW television championship. I was wrong. Then I didn't think he'd ever be the WCW world champion. I was wrong. Finally, I didn't think he could be the WWE champion. I may be wrong again. I was dissapointed with Bradshaw's main event push (though JBL is doing great) but I thought Booker T's B- Team gimmick might be pretty good for him. He was a stale face, now he's a fresh heel, Booker has range mic skils and wrestling skills. Now all I want is his finisher to go back to the Harlem Hangover.

18. Batista
This kid is the future. In every era of wrestling, there are frindge "hosses" that don't carry the company, but are there to pass the hot potato of the WWE title so that the big names can have something to strive for. Batista is one of those frindge hosses. While Cena, Orton, Benjiman, Guerrero, Benoit, & Jericho are carrying the WWE on there back Batista will always be there like a mini Big Show when all other feuds grow stale to throw a main event run to. Oddly enough Batista needs to get stronger, he can't even power bomb Mic Foley on his on, however that sit down power bomb looks devistating. Plus he just has that look.

17. Rey Mysterio
The single greatest cruiserweight wrestler that I've ever seen, and he only got number 17? Do I smell a size bias? No not at all, however you have to realize I rank these guys by all of there skills. Mysterio got to number 17 based on ring work alone because his mic skills are basically nothing. Also you have to realize that Mysterio is limited by what the WWE wants him to do. They will not allow him to use his whole array of skills during matches and he is still number 17. If you gave me the chice I'd always ask to see a Mysterio match, he's a friggin' acrobat. This is what cruiserweight wrestling is all about, he's the best in the WWE, and he's only at half capacity.

16. Chris Benoit
I really have nothing to say about Chris Benoit, he is simply the best techincal wrestler in the WWE right now. Quite like Mysterio Benoit is here soley based on his ring skils alone. However, Benoit's promos are getting better, what he needs to start doing is to gain a Arn Anderson type persona, being the wrestling genious as you will. He definitly deserves the world belt that he has, it's just hes never going to be amongst the great champions of all time if he doesn start to build a better rap on the mic. Sixteen may seem low to put the World Champ, but he's just not the character, that Triple H, Shawn Michaels, or Eddie Guerrero are, he's like really good vanilla ice cream, it's good, but you can'y help but want to put some hot fudge.

The Show Off

15. Kane
This man impresses the hell out of me. Just like Booker T he's always proving me wrong. When he first entered the WWE his monster gimmick was great. He was this scilent brooding character that would just have an evil way of walking, which was great, they couldn't have picked a better man to be the ying to Undertaker's yang. Then when he was with X-Pac and began to show emotion slowly but surely he played that character great. His walk and his mannorisims begain to have this scared child look to it. Then X-Pac turned on him, and Kane began to have this dejected mannor to himeself. Then whe he tagged up with RVD he began to "look" like he was having fun, finally for the first time. Now he took off his mask and he just looks angry at the world, plus he turned out to be a great mic worker. When the bell tolled at Royal Rumble 2004 and he yelled "I buried you alive" that was brillant. His unmasked angry gimmick is also great. Also he's a near 7 foot wrestler that can run around like some like Stone Cold, he's just a class act.

14. Shawn Michaels
For any other wrestler being number 14 on the list of best active wrestlers would be great, for Michales number 14 is garbage. When all is said and done he'll be one of the top 10 greates of all time, and he can't even crack number 10 on the current roster? Why is he so low? Because he's not Shawn Michales anymore, in the ring? Yes. Out? No. Michaels' characters has been terrible ever since he came back. The thing that made HBK so great is that he was the most arrogant guy on the planet, not he has this man against the world gimmick which just sucks for him, sadly it's because he's born again. He needs to play the heel in the worst way, he needs that edge back, then the Show Stoppa will be back for real.

13. John Cena
Rapper gimmicks have been done before, and they've sucked. Based on that idea alone John Cena deserves a hell of a lot of credit, he took a proven gimmick failure and made it a winner. Cena is over like crazy, he's not the Rock or Austin, but he's solid. People claim that he over sells, but over selling is better then under selling. In the ring his kid is above average, on the mic he is well above average. His character is just about the best in the WWE right now. The brilliant thing is, he could stop rapping, which is the essence of his gimmick, and stilll be over as hell. If it weren't for a guy named Orton, this kid would be the biggest up and commer the WWE has to offer.

12. Ric Flair
He's a jet flyin' limosuene ridin' kiss stealin' wheelin' dealin' son of a gun that takes all the girls to space mountain. And you may not like it but you will learn to love it caus it's the best thing going today. Diamonds are forever and so is the Nature Boy! WHOOOO!!! Well, he's not going to be around forever, but whenever a person takes a hard knive edge chop to the chest the crowds will WHOO as respect to the 16 time world champion. Is he anything like the guy that wrestled Ricky Steamboat for 60 minutes? No. All I know is at Wrestlemania he carried a match that had 4 other wrestlers 3 of which are half his age, if that doesn't tell you all you need to know about the staying power of Flair then you don't know wrestling.

11. Triple H
On TV and off, it's all about The Game. He managed to be a heel inside the arena and outside the arena. He is probably the most hated person in wrestling I've ever seen. People will say that he is hated for all the wrong reasons, I say bullshit. Anything that gets you to watch is a good thing. And for a solid two years people on this forum and other forums have tuned in to WWE programing to see if Triple H will finally drop the title, you just love to hate him, but the key word is love. His promos work on two levels, it pisses off marks and smarks alike. Triple H has a multi fassited character that works always on two levels, and that alone makes him great. Not to mention that his matches are always intriguing if no other reason then the smarks saying "He's not going to drop the title tonightm he's such an asshole.... Or will he drop the title? Nah... Or maybe...

10. Edge
I cannot explain why I think so higly of Edge, but I'll try. He's not the greatest on the mic, and he's not the greatest in the ring. He's average. However, he has this X- factor that you can't touch, mold or manipulate. He just has this natral charisma, I don't mean when he talks you want to listen. It's more of a fact that when you see him you want to cheer. He has a look, a way of carrying himself that makes you want to like him. Also he is a big match competitor, when it comes to PPV's he always steps it up a lot higher which is the mark of a great wrestler. When Edge's push continues I think he could be over like Sting used to be. Cause if you remember Sting wasn't the best wrestler or mic worker, people just wanted to cheer him.

9. Matt Hardy
I have a confession. I thought, along with an ass load of marks, that Jeff Hardy was going to be the man to come out of the Hardy Boys and make it huge. I know I sound stupid having thought that. It might be that all of those flashy moves and high risk behavor blinded me from how bad Jeff was, it might have been that Jeff is better but just didn't care enought to work as hard as Matt, or it might just be because I didn't like Matt Hardy. I don't like Matt Hardy, but I love Matt Hardy Version 1. Next to Christian, Jericho, Cena and Orton, Matt Hardy has the best character in the WWE, and he's a better wrestler then Orton and Cena. If they push him the WWE will be pleasently surprised with Version 1.

8. Eddie Guerrero
If you look two post earlier of what I said about Booker T, I believe this to be true of Eddie, ten fold. Eddie I belive is the surprise of the wrestling world. He was over with out a push, and he became the top draw in the WWE over night. This guy can go in the ring, and he could tear apart a microphone. Eddie is too hot to handle too cold to hold as they say. If you realized I'm speak in cliche' there is a reason, it's because there is no way of quantifying how much Eddie Gurerro has come as a pleasent surprise to me. The guy rocks plain and simple. You all can fill in the rest because everyone knows that Latio Heat is the man.

7. Randy Orton
The Legend Killer is a man that can walk out of the curtian and get booed like crazy without opening his mouth. He's smug, arrogant, talented, handsome, and he's got three other guys watching his back, what else do you need in a heel. Orton, when everything will all be said and done, will be up there with Ric Flair, The Rock and Hulk Hogan as the greatest characters to ever grace a ring. Sure he botches the RKO, and sure a lot of his promos sound like Ric Flair's left overs, but he's young. He has only basically one year of WWE in ring experience, and he is still hated by fans, and is putting on pretty entertaining matches. He's a year away from putting on five star matches, (maybe less if he's willing to hurt himself agains Mic Foley at Backlash) and he's just a split away from Evolution away from being the biggest heel in the WWE.

6. The Undertaker
'Taker has been catching a lot of shit recently for his "Dead Cowboy" gimmick, but the fact still remains. People pay to see the dead man. I'm not going to spend this space aruing why his new look is cool, and I'm not going to go on about how he's still a good in ring performer. I'm just going to leave him at number six, and you can debate it on your own. I think he's great, and I can't be detered from that.

The Show Off
04-10-2004, 11:03 PM
5. Mick Foley
Sure, he never could wrestler. Sure, he can't wrestler really now. But Mic know's what sells in wrestling, and that's your character. Mick Foley's promo's are number one ever bar none. Whether it be the classic Cane Dewey promo, or it is the most recent "Barbie" promo that he pulled on Raw this week, Mick will always give you a nice ear full. The thing that Mick does that no one else in wrestling is that he finds a true part of himself that truely believes what he is saying, and that's why he is so scary good. He doesn't treat the fans like idiots when he goes out there he appeals to a smarter part of yourself when he cuts a promo not the classic "I'm going to kick you ass" cookie cutter promo. Mick will do something unheard of for all other wrestlers in his promo's, he'll mention that he's scared, which makes what he say all the more real.

4. Rob Van Dam
Mr. Thrusday Night is much better then what he shows to us ever night. I'll admit that his matches seem somewhat lazy, but there is a reason for that. RVD shouldn't be wrestling 10 minute tag matches to start a PPV, he should be wrestling 30 minutes classics that headline. All the WWE has to do is watch his match against Stone Cold and Kurt Angle and they'll see. Rob Van Dam also needs a change, he need to get a lot more arrogant as a character. Basically what he need to start saying is that no one is as exciting as RVD. Just watch how he was in ECW and use him that way, if the WWE did, RVD would be the face of the organization in 2 months no doubt.

3. Kurt Angle
Imagine this wrestler. The technical ability of Bret Hart, combined with the high flying abilty of Shawn Michaels combined with the mic intensity of Ric Flair combined with the humor of Mic Foley... That sound like one hell of a wrestler doesn't it? Yeah well that wrestler is your American hero Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle combines everything that makes a perfect wrestler and he gets the cloesest to it. The only reason he is number three on my list is because I'm more skewed to liking promo ability. However, if you asked me who was the Alpha Type wrestler it'd be Kurt Angle.

2. Chris Jericho
I could go on and on about why I like Chris Jericho, but I won't. I'll just simply say this... Chris Jericho is like Shawn Michaels used to be but better. And that's all I have to say.

1. Christian
Just like Jericho I could go on and on about Christian but I won't. All I will sai is just this... Christian is like Chris Jericho used to be... but better. Enoght Said.
