I'm going to be honest, I think that the rumors that we will hear for the next 2 weeks as to who will be on Raw, who will be on TNA, and the matches are going to be really interesting.
People want it to be Bret Hart or The Rock that hosts Raw on 1/4. I think they are going the wrong route. Unless McMahon reached out to him, and he said no, Stone Cold Steve Austin would be the much better choice. Austin and Hogan are considered to be the big stars of the 90's because of what Hogan did (or ruined) in WCW and because of how Austin was the focal point of the Attitude era.

Ill definently be watching TNA that night. My living room will have WWE and ROH recording and Ill be in the back room watching TNA.
I think the only way they could really get me to turn over to watch Raw is if Bret Hart was on it. I dont really care for The Rock or Stone Cold so neither of them have the ability to draw me in.
I know not many people agree with me but I find TNA more enjoyable right now anyways.

Austin comes and goes so him being there is nothing special. Bret Hart being on Raw is event that hasn't happened in 10 plus years and something most people thought would never happen.

TNA will put on a better show, but WWE will get higher ratings
but i think many will tune in to TNA just to see what happens i.e how the set looks, what hogan is doing there etc etc

i'll be watching TNA as well. For some reason Bret doesn't get my attention. especially after not seeing him wrestle ever besides youtube, i never saw anything in wwe because vince was always hating on him. i'm not watchin because Hogan the wrestler but because of hogan the backstage guy. i want to see what he's gonna do.

I also want to see the NWO together and see what way they are headed. If TNA gets a squared ring than I will not even change it to RAW at all.
oh yea RAW sucked yesterday

Well let's be realistic for a minute. First of all, Hogan could not have ruined WCW because he hadn't been there for several months when they were sold. Everything leading up to that had almost nothing to do with him. It is conveniently forgotten though that he was there the whole time that WCW was winning the ratings war, so you do the math. Also, only among actual wrestling fans will Bret Hart make a difference. I actually think that a lot of viewership for the old WCW were not true wrestling fans because they all quit watching after things got stale, and judging by the number WWE has, they quit watching wrestling all together, myself included for a time. They watched because it was entertaining to them, much like people might watch CIS or American Idol. If Hogan and Bischoff make TNA have a very entertaining show that isn't all slapstick like that Raw was last night, they could eventually have a winner. The ratings for the 1/4 show will only show people's intial interest. It's what happens after that will show whether or not people found it to be a better show. Given all the popularity of reality shows and TV contests, Bischoff may actually be able to take the same approach as last time(make it more real) and be relatively successful.

The only place this is a war is on the internet. WWE would outdraw them even if TNA had Hulk and Bret show up.

Unfortunately, I gotta agree with the Damndest.
Outside of the web..judging from the opinions of friends and family members, no one really knows what TNA is. WWE has such a big advantage over TNA. They have been around longer and have the reputation. I am excited to see how TNA handles Hogan but I don't think the January 4th clash will be world changing or any of that crap.

TNA will get a cruel reality check on January 4th.

I am going old school. i.e. hitting that "last channel" button on my remote all night
I'm going new school. RAW on the TV and TNA stream. :shifty:
Chat that night's gonna be epic.
Unless it's Bret or The Rock, I'll be watching Impact.

Just to see Hogan come out and cut a promo on Jeff Jarrett. They better come up with something to get people to keep the channel on.
They'll probably tease him having a match that night, and then cancel it so they can save it for a buyrate.

I like this idea. Would be the closest thing to Austin/Hogan we will ever have. :y:

A local newspaper in Johnstown, Pennsylvania recently conducted an interview with Jeff Jarrett to promote TNA’s live event in the city on January 14th. Visit OurTownOnline.biz to read the entire interview.
Jarrett spoke at length about how TNA Wrestling can compete with World Wrestling Entertainment. “They [WWE] are sports entertainment; we are professional wrestling,” Jarret said. “Our in-ring product takes priority over other facets of the business.” “The product that has drawn millions and millions of fans over the years, going back to the ’60s, is professional wrestling … (TNA) is fresh and modern, but it is in the essence of what has always been done.”
Jarrett knows what it takes to build a successful wrestling promotion and thinks TNA goes an extra step to make sure their fans are satisfied. “We recognize the fact that we’ve got to earn our fans one at a time,” Jarrett said. “I have been a part of wrestling my entire life, but I’ve never seen this kind of excitement generated by the backstage access, the autograph sessions, and the opportunities to get up close and personal with the TNA stars at the merchandise table.”
With TNA firing their “first shot” at WWE on January 4th with their first live 3-hour Monday night edition of TNA iMPACT!, Jarrett explains what’s ahead on TNA’s path to truly competing with WWE. “Things are getting bigger and better. With the addition of Hulk Hogan, skies are very blue for TNA. Are we going to come right out of the gate and beat them? Are we claiming that? Absolutely not,” he said. “But we’re in the game, and competition is good. We are very optimistic that by the end of 2010, it’ll be a different game.”
I don't need to wait 13 days because I already have Face/Off on DVD.

I was torn, but the last two weeks' worth of RAW made things a whole lot easier. I'll be watching Spike.
