My friend lent me UFC 107, gotta say... WOW. I've never paid too much attention to MMA, I mean I watch fights on Youtube now and then but never been too hooked on it.

But now I've watched an entire event and am as addicted to it as wrestling. Some great fights, especially the BJ Penn VS Diego Sanchez. Also really enjoyed Paul Buentello VS Stefan Struve and Kenny Florian VS Clay Guida.

Anyways, my question, in between some of these fights there were some other fights kinda 'thrown in' that had no build up etc and pretty much started showing after the match had started. What's up with these fights?

They had the supposed 'main event' Penn VS Sanchez, and then after there was another of these smaller fights.

So yeah just hoping someone can clear that up for me.

(This is the first time I've ever been in the MMA forum)

Fights that took place before the main card, so when fights end early they have something to fill the extra time with.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.

Yeah, it's actually a really cool thing to do. That way if fights end quick, you're not like "Fuck, well, that was a waste of money." You're pretty much guaranteed a several hour ppv.

Kinda like the Mir fight (can't remember other guys name)... ended in about 1 minute.

Wouldn't it be crazy if every single fight ended in under a minute?:shifty:

ufc 76 which was labeled "knockout" ironically didnt have a single match get finished before time expired

take that back.... there was at least one submission victory, but still no KO in a ppv called Knockout... IRONY PEOPLE
