WWE taped this week's edition of ECW on SyFy at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. Below are live spoilers of the event:

Dark Match:
* Tyler Reks b. The Hurricane via pinfall.

ECW On SyFy: (Airing Tonight)
* ECW opens with Champion Christian in the ring talking about the Homecoming Tournament. CM Punk and Luke Gallows come out to the ring and Punk tells them he's going to win the tournament, title, and the fans. Christian goes on to tell Punk that he's going to be squashed by Mark Henry and he won't be facing him at Royal Rumble for the tittle.

* Shelton Benjamin b. Chavo Guerrero via pinfall.
- Shelton will now advance in the ECW Homecoming tournament.

* Zack Ryder comes out with Rosa Mendes. Zack says that he stopped the heart of ECW last week and 2010 will be the year of Ryder.

*Ezekiel Jackson b. Vladimir Kozlov

* Tony Atlas is backstage reminding Mark Henry of their past. He offers to be in his corner during his match tonight. Henry denies his request and leaves Atlas there laughing.

* CM Punk b. Mark Henry
- Punk got the win after Luke Gallows interfered.

Kane - decent shot.
Matt Hardy - might get shoved here as "payback" for Jeff going back to TNA.
Vance "Don't call me Lance Hoyt" Archer - could be a surprise winner.
Shelton Benjamin - outside chance.
Evan Bourne - not likely.
Ezekiel Jackson - depends on if they're ready to push him or not.
C.M. Punk - only if they're switching him and Christian to lead up to Edge's Smackdown return.
Mark Henry - odds on favorite in my book. The belt WAS made for him, after all.

If they're so eager to "reformat" ECW, I'm surprised they didn't put Sheamus in it. Let him win and combine the ECW belt with his belt... Then we could get rid of the stupid bling belt.

Still waiting to see if there's gonna be a double turn with Zeke and Vlad by Regal shifting alliances. I can see Zeke becoming a Lashley-esque babyface a lot easier.

Mark Henry debuted on Raw. Surely now he is visiting.

CM Punk seems like the one with the most tension towards Christian right now. It would be logical to have him win the ECW Homecoming, and then go on to face Christian at the Royal Rumble. Punk could win the title, and then destroy it, claiming that ECW represents a culture of addiction, and he wants to destroy it once and for all. It'd be a massive heel rub for him to be the man who destroys the "ECW Title" as we know it.

Looking at the guys in the Battle Royal, I don't think a guy from ECW's current roster will win it. Shelton Benjamin and Yoshi Tatsu have had their shots. Vance Archer is still pretty new to the WWE, and while the WWE shows little regard for the ECW Title, I can't see them putting him over Christian just yet. He'd have the best chance out of the ECW guys, though, in my opinion.

So that leaves Kane, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne or CM Punk. Of those guys, I think Kane has got the least chance of winning. He's been in the Royal Rumble for like the past decade or something; I don't see that changing. He's also got a program with Dolph Ziggler going on. Plus, he's technically a face, and while Hardy & Bourne are also faces; they are more comparable to Christian. It's harder to have a "buddy-buddy feud" with the monster, Kane. I see Kane either eliminating Vance Archer, or being eliminated by him.

Evan Bourne could win, as he and Christian would have a fun match. It'd be a great way to showcase Bourne, which is something I've felt like the WWE have really wanted to do. They moved him to RAW, and they let him hit the Shooting Star Press on Sheamus just to show the move off. But, I dunno, he seems like the weakest choice out of the three guys left. Matt Hardy could win. He's got so little left to do on SmackDown!, and a feud with Christian would be...interesting. And CM Punk has already been discussed.

Smart money is on CM Punk, but I'd personally like to see Matt Hardy win it. Punk could be awesome as a slimy heel in the Rumble.

Also, Ezekiel Jackson should have definitely been the guy to turn face. Vladimir Kozlov & William Regal just seem like a natural fit, and Jackson would just make the better bad-ass babyface.

As far as jacked up monsters go, I prefer Butterlips to Sheamus.

Not a bad show, I thought. I didn't have high expectations for Punk/Henry, but they did well enough with what they had to work with. Also happy they ended up taking Chavo out of that match and putting him in a singles match with Benjamin.

I took a piss break during the Jackson/Kozlov match, but enjoyed the rest. I'm actually curious as to who will actually win the battle royal. I'm hoping the CM Punk is NOT a candidate and is only their for "star power". I think Benjamin or Hardy winning the match, and possibly the title at the Rumble, would be a step in the right direction.

Christian / Punk is the best idea. Punk should NOT be in the MITB again this year for obvious reasons. Punk deserves a title match even if it is just the ECW title. Those 2 could easily steal the undercard if given time.

Their match will probably be advertised and then be left off the card so Kid Rock can perform for 25 minutes and Santino Marella can win a Diva battle royal.

Why the hell did they make Koslov the face? This is wrong on many many levels. Last time i watched Jackson was getting a decent face reaction.

CM Punk was absolute gold in the Henry match. I think he'll win the Homecoming thing and then lose to christian and start feuding with Rey leading up to a Mania match

From now on, I'd just like to see ALL the wrestling forum mods, not just getting after Juan here, ALL, to PLEASE, if you see a set of ECW spoilers in it's own thread and a ECW Discussion thread pops up a bit later on future Tuesdays, can we please just leave them separate before, during, and after the show has aired for the week?
