you know, I wish Jimmy would tell us how he REALLY feels. :p

Seriously, I was listening to this and I think I pulled something from laughing so hard. Cornette has a way with words.

Corny is great.

Why he is not booking for any of these companies, is because he's honest.

There is simply no place for that in the wrestling world, much like any other major business. Cornette has more of an idea of how to book cards and have a successful show than anyone else out there. I'd love to see Heyman and Cornette booking together.

There were times I couldnt breathe while he was talking.

His take on what TNA pulled was spot on,I wish hed have given his thoughts on orton/kofi as thats the only real reason to watch RAW wrestling wise.He really made me think wrestling has become a three ring circus and not in the good way it used to be.
I loved his emphasis on promoting the young talent more rather than parading a bunch of washed up fat old guys that can barely make it to the ring without blowing out their pacemakers I really hope someone from either promotion hears this podcast.

LOL at Sean Waltman looks 50 cause of who hes with.

Loved his shameless plug of ROH in the middle of bashing the competition.

Jim Cornette working with a more modern wrestling mind, could produce a great product. If they could get along, Heyman and Cornette would be great. OVW under both of those guys was great for different reasons. Gabe Sapolsky is another great booker out there. Well, he's a guy who knows how to cater good wrestling to people, and create a positive aura around his feuds.

Best mind in the business by far

So the best mind in the business can't understand the need to have a Bret/Shawn segment on that show?

But thats just it its not wrestling its a sketch show a bad sketch show .The attitude era put emphasis on promos and out of ring activity and that was coo. Nowdays backstage activity overshadows in ring action to a great degree.

one word drove the point home for me in Cornettes rant hornswoggle

Youre right I do try to keep his bitterness in mind and I often wonder how much his bitterness effects his POV

TNA is awful.

What is Cornette's problem with Bret Hart?

Is it just me or is his major gripe against monday night TNA? And then WWE he just said it was more of the same, but I haven't watched WWE inforever? How can he claim it is more of the same if he doesn't know what it has been lately?

Before I read any posts or I listen to the Audio I know Jim Cornette probably hated Monday night.

I bet he puts over AJ Styles and Matt Morgan.

Did Cornette has booking powers when he was with TNA? or was he just a figure head.

Also he buries Sheamus because Sheamus works out with HHH.

Some of it is just Cornette bitching because he would have booked it differently. Jeff Hardy showing up in the first fifteen minutes was a great move. He's a guy no one would have expected to see on TNA and then all of the sudden he's at the top of a cage. You need to stay tuned to see why and how. Yes, he was in the main event in the WWE. Obviously he will meet up with Hogan or A.J. or Angle at some point. This was one night. There is no need to blow that load right away.

I agree with theddy. Jeff made it feel like anything is possible and is a good TNA grab, plus he has been in TNA before. Make sence. But on a night with Flair, Hogan, the Nasty Boys, the Kliq, VAl Venis, and everyone else showing up, who cares?

I don't think he had a problem with which part of the show Hardy appeared in, it was just how shitty it was. I mean, sure, it may have given the show that 'Wow, anything can happen here' factor, which I'm sure they were looking for but how they did it was completely underwhelming. Have him come out to start the show, cut a small promo or something, would have made a much better 'Impact!' (haw haw) than wheeling him out after that clusterfuck opener which probably blew half the crowds load in the first 10 minutes of the show

Why was he making fun of The Miz? For trying to be a good actor? Cheap shot. Cornette should settle the fuck down before he has a coronary.

If I never hear Jeff Hardy speak again I will die a happy man.

But yes, I do think the cage match was a clusterfuck. Couldn't tell if Homicide was supposed to make it out and fight Jeff at the top or what.

The Steel Asylum is one of the most poorly thought out gimmick matches ever. It looks to be damned hard to get to the hole in the top and everyone else just standing around looking.

Perhaps for being a third rate David Spade.

Well, assuming he's no stranger to the internet, he might know the goings on. Or, "more of the same" could reference that Raw is an identical or similar situation to when he last watched? It's not even an uncommon nuance to the phrase.

It was done better on diffrent shows. Homicide just didn't know how to get out. Kaz and Jay Lethal were able to get out of it with ease.

That being said after watching the TNA replay tonight, I'd be glad never to see the steel asylum again.

What did The Miz do on Monday that would make someone think he was awful? Cornette said it was the first time he had watched Raw in a while, so I'm assuming that's the first he's seen of him. All he did was cut a promo and do some commentary.

Savio

Cornette is crazy yes last night raw was bad when you compare it to the late 90s but I thought it was pretty good and I usually hate Raw. Is cornette one to talk about bad booking? He came into TNA and put every title on Angle.

Savio
01-07-2010, 08:42 PM
And the way they marketed TNA was to people who haven't watched wrestling in the past 10 years so they gave what they marketed. What they should do now is have that older talent put over the younger talent and fade out while letting the younger talent take more of the spot light.

the Miz hasn't really changed much, and Monday Night was far from exceptional. In short, see above.

How the fuck are we going to revolt?

For the better part of 2009 I thought that tna could be better than the watered down WWE garbage if they just got their act together a little better.

The raw wrestling talent is already there. They just need to learn how to tell better stories inside/outside the ring in a real concise manner for TV.

Angle, Desmond Wolf, The Pope, and AJ seem to me what they should focus on.

If the "real" talent doesnt kill off the brought in talent then i will just give up on TNA and wrestling in general.

I wish he would have said something about Cena being a complete marketing tool, but I guess we'll have to wait.
