OK, when did you enjoy Bret the most, when he was a heel or when he was a babyface?
For me, I loved Bret Hart back in the day when he was babyface, but I worshipped him and the rest of the HF when he was a heel. I actually bought a T-shirt with the Mapleleaf on the front during 97 to show support for the Foundation. I hated every other wrestler in the WWE during that time and absolutely loved when Bret attacked someone from behind and went for the legs. Remember when Bret first gave that heel speech and Michaels came down to interupt him. Michales was talking crap and then when he turned his back, Bret took out his leg and gave him the figure four around the poll. So yeah, Heel Bret RULED ALL.
Well when he was a heel, he was a babyface to me as a Brit and as a huge Bret Hart mark so it never made a difference.

I guess I could have left that the way it was, seeing as I'm British born. :-\

Well that depends, because Bret played a heel twice and a face once in the WWF, and played both roles twice in WCW. For me, it's a tie between his first heel run when he debuted and teamed with Jim Neidhart, and in WCW when he feuded with Booker T. and Diamond Dallas Page. I liked his first heel run in the WWF because he came off as arrogant, his WCW heel was a true "Hitman," as he would viciously attack other wrestlers and put them out of action. As innovative as his '97 heel character was, it seemed forced to me at times, when he would attack people.

Even though he was a good heel I think I liked him better as a babyface.

I don't think Bret was ever great as a heel. He was still the shit, but that's just because he's Bret Hart. He played the hero role so well. I would definately say he was better as a face. I'd say he's one of the top 3 or 4 best babyfaces in wrestling ever.

also, his hole heel run was pretty much based on canadian nationalism, which is a pretty weak angle

it's kinda confusing cause he's always sorta been a face in canada, even with his heel run with the foundation so i dunno what to pick.

Well if you don't consider yourself British then you're ok.
Where you from anyways?

Greatest angle of all-time IMO. (Well that and Pillman's "Loose Cannon" angle) No wonder it's been done to death since the HART fOUNDATION.
It rejuvenated the WWF thats for sure.
Bret Hart is God, whether he's a face or heel,
but since I'm such a huge HF Mark I'm going to say Heel Bret.
