- The new issue of the PW Torch Newsletter speculates that Rob Van Dam may make a surprise WWE return at the Royal Rumble. Apparently RVD has told people that he hasn't spoken with TNA officials since November.

A source close to Van Dam feels he would be open to the idea of a short stint with WWE if the money and creative plans were right.

Well, he showed up last year. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up this year.

But now with TNA taking former WWE talent at a high rate, I'd imagine WWE would want him under a short-term contract at the very least, or a non-compete clause.

most definately, but RVD always seemed on good terms with Vince and if the money/amount of working days was right for him, I could see RVD signing a short term deal....

Meh, he was meant to be going to TNA, that got axed now theyre jumping back on the "may be going to WWE" bandwagon.

Last i read his wife has or had cancer so id imagine he'd prefer to be with her.

RVD could be the Boss Challenger of the ECW Homecoming.

No problem with RVD coming back full time. Coming just to make the Rumble interesting will start to get irritating.

Sit down at the table, broker a deal, and remind him what happened to him the last time.

Vince: No more getting caught with shit on you, and no more pills.

*RVD gets up, waves, and walks out*

Vince: ...He's going to TNA, isn't he?

*Triple H nods*

CM Punk vs. Rob Van Dam actually seems like a WrestleMania feud. When you add that to Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H, Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart, The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho and Batista vs. John Cena, the WWE could actually have a pretty big WrestleMania card on the works.

Based on the reason why he's not working full time right now, he can pretty much do what ever the fuck he wants as far as I'm concerned, he's one of the hottest unsigned talents going around and can and should pick and choose what's good for him

If Punk's getting a stable, RVD would need one. I say we call them the "Spot Junkies."

I'd mark out like crazy if Battle Creek's finest crashed the 2010 Rumble and I knew RVD was guaranteed at least several months with the possibility of one last WWE or WHC run...it couldn't hurt. I'd fucking kill to see Sheamus vs. RVD at Mania XXVI, especially as it would be a huge breath of fresh air, rather than having the same guys shoved down our throats for title shots on RAW (looking at you especially Cena and Orton).

I could easily accept RVD coming back and winning. Won't happen though. :(

I feel your pain. Looks like no more Booker T, at least not right now, back in WWE either. :(

I love to see RVD come back for the Rumble just to show how over he still is with the fans.

He kinda pulled one of those stunts last year though, and if RVD's just gonna fuck around for a few minutes one night a year to make a cameo Rumble appearance...not worth it. Better to ink him to a new long-term deal than play that tired cop-out card again.
