The Miz knows French, he knows what he's saying.
By "gai", he most likely meant happy. The word has alot of different meanings in French and "Happy" is one of them.

Well, in English it also means "happy". Or used to at least.

Pretty sure this was meant to be a rib on Maryse or something. She looked like she was going to 'lol' when he said that.

fuck, I speak french and that's NOT what it translates too, I knew it since I read this "translation" I've forgot.
It didn't mean gay, nor did it mean happy.
it's a simple french word I should know (and did 5 minutes ago)
anyone speak french? they'll know...

The Miz may have been misinterpreted as according to FreeTranslation.com, the French to English translation of “Je suis gai, tu me veux” — what he said to Maryse this past Monday night on RAW — is “I am cheerful, you want me.” It’s been noted that he said, “I am gay, you want me.” With that being said, this is likely a case of a word having multiple connotations.
gay is another word for happy/cheerful mr clark
Easily the biggest wrestling news story of the last 5 years, maybe even since Montreal

his accent was so bad, it's even hard to tell what he said..... but even if he called himself gay.... it was probably only a backstage joke

Gai is borrowed from English word gay while it dosent carry the same context as the english word implying homosexuality it (It actually means happy) it is nonetheless used by french homosexuals to refer to them selves
je suis heureux (if male) I am happy- this would have been less controversial

Everyone seems to be suggesting that The Miz say "happy." I ask you this: Does the phrase "I am happy. You want me," really sound like something suave? He should have said "I am awesome. You want me." Happy doesn't really fit, either.
It either seems like a The Miz/Maryse having fun, or what The Miz said was nothing like is being reported.

Come on guys, you must have misheard him. He obviously said something that translates to "I am awesome". If not, then that's what he meant.

Well, in English it also means "happy". Or used to at least.
Anyone who thinks that in today's society in America that gay could possibly mean happy anymore is sadly mistaken. That's a very archaic usage of the term and if I'm not mistaken it's pretty much obsolete in that definition. Shit, about the only time I hear it in the "happy and innocent" meaning anymore is at the end of the Flintstones theme song ("...we'll have a gay old time!")

Gai can be used to mean frisky or horny.
