Just logged on to make a thread about this. Borga had so much potential as an upper-mid card heel until they sacrificed his winning streak. He'll be missed :(

I remember him. A promo he once did made my Grandma laugh. Not because he lacked the mic skills, but because he said he had no respect for this country. And my Grandma's from England so maybe she felt the same way. :) I doubt it, but for some reason, he made her laugh with that comment.

This was the promo my Grandma watched with me back in 1993 at WWF All American Wrestling. At 2:45 is when he talked about not having any respect for the country.

I bet he's in heaven (or possibly hell) wrestling Lex Luger's self respect.

R.I.P.
Don't really remember anything about him except his winning streak back in 92/93.

Sadly, I remember his fake assed body shots, where he would lift up his opponent's arm and punch them in the ribs. I was a mark then, but even I found it hard to believe that a guy would let his opponent pick his arm up to punch him in the ribs.

His tenure in WWE was awful short but RIP nonetheless.

He says in finnish "these assholes don't fucking understand what to do..." then Lawler cuts him off. It easy to curse on tv when no one understands what you're saying

Former 90s WWE star Ludvig Borga (real name Tony Halme) has passed away at age 47. On January 10 he was found dead in his apartment in Helsinki, Finland, with local newspapers suggesting he committed suicide using an illegally acquired firearm.
Halme is best known as a star of Finnish Gladiators and as a member of the True Finns political party, where he was elected to Parliament. He also tried his hand at signing, releasing 5 singles, and as an author he wrote 5 books promoting his political views.
In wrestling he had runs with UWF, New Japan, WWF and the Catch Wrestling Association all through the 90s. He also had a brief UFC career.

Poor bastard, must have had a revelation that Finland sucks and couldn't live with himself.

I'm told his political career was based on racism and homophobia. I don't think he gets the usual RIP from me.

Either way, liked him as a performer. He was entertaining.
