has an interview up with Dwayne Johnson talking about The Tooth Fairy and a return to WWE. He mentions that he was supposed to host Raw this past Monday but couldn’t because he was in Mexico promoting the movie. He goes on to say that he is working with Vince McMahon to come up with a plan, and adds that once he finishes filming his next flick Faster this summer he might go back.

Yeah, so its only a maybe, but its from his own mouth thru a reasonable reputable source.

The Rock fans, come on in and get your hopes up only to be dashed. (or not, hopefully)

I'll believe it when I see it.

I saw that earlier. I was wondering what he meant by go back. When looking at it you would think return to wrestling but Im thinking it may be him talking about guest hosting or making an appearance.

Looking up his upcomming projects he still has 4 more movies in the works after Faster.

If only Rock came back. Seeing him at the Hall of Fame two years ago showed how much better he was than damn-near anything in the WWE right now.

Unless he comes back as a full time wrestler I won't give a crap. He won't. He's making millions of dollars starring in terrible movies. He's done with wrestling and that's fine.

I think him going back just means going back to the company for a show or two.

Rock went out on top. It'd actually probably be better if he stayed retired and didn't tarnish his legacy like Flair and Hogan.

THIS. Unfortunately as Dorkchop said, I have a hard time believing that he'll ever be back full-time.

I'd like to see him come back with a Tooth Fairy gimmick.

I'd say there's a roughly 43000% chance Santino will make an appearance dressed as the Tooth Fairy if the Rock guest hosts.

Itd be hillarious if Taker doesn't face HBK and the Rock shows up and challenges him at WM since they've never wrestled 1 on 1.

and then I guess they could always do Cena/Rock which would be 8 years later version of Rock/Hogan.

Rock returning right now would not tarnish his legacy at all. He'd go out on top again when he was done wrestling again. He's still young.

Problem is, it isn't gonna happen, so it's irrelevant.

I keep on thinking the same things everyone else on here is saying about that it will never happen....but then again didnt everyone also say Bret Hart would never return to the WWE....

After that happening im not saying anything wont happen....but this is just one of those things that seem unlikely...

But at least he has said it himself now. I dont see why he couldn't come back full time, he looks to be in great shape, and never suffered a serious injury as a result of wrestlng before.

Even if its just a short stint to "pass the torch" to someone, its the f'n Rock.

Thankfully, he doesn't have to come back.

oh he will be back. WWE is a shot in the arm for some of these guys careers. Yes their career is so bad that an appearance on RAW will "boost" interest in them.

Yeah, and that definitely describes the Rock...

rock will be making B-movies very soon..

His movie career isn't as great as he wanted it to be. So why not return to WWE for a while? He knows he can get a lot more popular by spending some time in WWE and then making some more movies. DO IT ROCK!

PS.

The idea of Bret returning was less likely to happen than this.

I don't see a full-full time return for The Rock, but I could definitely see him come back for three months full time to work a couple of big programs before leaving again. Jordan is right; his career hasn't really been what was expected of him. Rock was supposed to be a big action star; now he's kind of family fare. Look at the films he's been in:

- The Scorpion King
- The Rundown
- Walking Tall
- Be Cool
- Doom
- Southland Tales
- Gridiron Gang
- The Game Plan
- Get Smart
- Race to Witch Mountain
- Tooth Fairy

Now, while these are nationally released theatrical films, none of them exactly screams "BIG MOVIE." None of them have really been high grossers, none of them have gotten that amazing of reviews, and none of them have showcased Dwayne Johnson as a great actor. He's The Rock in all of those pictures. Going back to being The Rock in the WWE will only help him get back into doing move action driven films. It's a smart move for him right now.

Not only that, but times have changed greatly since Rocky left. Back then, he had wrestled all the main event guys and done all the big stuff. There are many more possibilities now that there are new stars.

Rock vs. Cena
Rock vs. Orton
Rock vs. Batista
Rock vs. CM Punk
Rock vs. Shawn Michaels (!!!!!!!!)

I would even like to see Rock vs. Rey Mysterio if only for the fuck of seeing these two guys in the ring together.

I know it's only rumors right now, but a Rock return could yield big things for the WWE.

I'm fairly certain he's good with his massive Disney contract guys
