Ya know what I wouldn’t mind seeing? After they’re both done with their current angles… picture this…

CM Punk, the Straight Edge Superstar, and a blight on a fun loving society.
With Punk wanting to “save” people by converting them to a straight edge life style, who could be more annoying, and more of an asshole than….

WOO WOO WOO! ZACK RYDER! IT’S THE ZACK ATTACK!!!
It’s a perfect fit, and it’ll put Ryder up to that next level even if the feud ends with him jobbing out to Punk. Letting the modern day party boy get the rub from someone who could be the biggest heel in a few years would do WONDERS for Zack Ryder. Of course there will be a face turn, but after he gets that initial turn he can always turn back by being too cool to cheer for DX (because they’re, like, 50! Woo woo woo!) or John Cena (and his theme song sucks, too! Woo woo woo!), etc.
So, Ryder/Punk…. How does it sound?

He doesn't need to be popular. In my eyes it's possible to start this feud tomorrow (if their current angles could be wrapped up today).
The fans hate Punk. He's a great heel, and gets great reactions. Ryder just needs to run on that. The fans hate Punk. Ergo, they'll cheer Ryder.
Also, look at Mr. <strike>Kennedy</strike> Anderson. If there's one thing he has taught the wrestling world is the fans still love a sing-a-long. "Woo Woo Woo" is corny enough to catch on with the smaller children while "You Know It" can work with the older crowd. Add that cheap interaction with the crowd & Ryder and it'll work.

I've thought about this feud before, as well as the possibility of turning Ryder face. It could be interesting.

Alternately, I'd like to see a face CM Punk start losing everything from his World Title to his big matches to his friends and girlfriends and finally his self respect. In his deepest sorrowful times and depressions, a dude named Scott Hall shows up in the WWE and offers him a beer to soothe his nerves. After some internal debate, Punk takes the drink.

He quickly becomes an uncontrollable drunk asshole, but starts winning his matches again. When his drinking get too out of control, he loses it on Scott Hall and beats the crap out of him in the ring, ending the feud.
