View Full Version : Monday Night Wars 2010 - Round 2
From PWInsider:
Get ready for the second battle in the new "Monday Night War" as TNA goes head to head with the Cheech & Chong hosted edition of WWE Raw on March 1st. With WWE in full Wrestlemania mood at that point, it is an interesting night for the two shows to go head-to-head. At this time, TNA has no live event set for that date, so it will be a taped episode.
Thanks to Devin Cutting for the following. ... Spike TV will be airing an episode of TNA Impact on Monday, March 1st, 2010 from 9 to 11 PM (ET/PT).
March 1st is also the night that Wrestlicious debuts on MavTV and Bite TV.
This means that there will be 6 hours of wrestling on national TV in the US and Canada that night: ROH On HD-Net, WWE Raw, TNA Impact and Wrestlicious
UPDATE:
The TNA Impact taping hotline for Universal Studios has been updated, with March 1st and 2nd now listed as Impact taping dates. So, when TNA goes head-to-head with WWE Raw on March 1st, it looks be a live event, not a taped episode.
The new taping dates are not listed on TNA's website at the time of this writing.

I like this overall for wrestling. However, I don't know if the WWE retirement home (TNA) is going to be able to pull enough viewers for it to matter. I totally enjoyed the two competing on Monday nights, but the question is whether TNA can produce the same rating it did the last Monday they broadcast now that they don't have an insane amount of debuts and suprises. They will have to book something great and/or come up with a hook.

With this being a taped show, I would highly doubt it.
They also wouldn't have the hour lead-in, which will hurt them.

I guess it's just to gain extra viewers of the Wrestlemania 'buzz' then.
What the hell is Wreslicious though?

While WWE officially "won" the last head-to-head with TNA, I'd consider TNA's rating a success for them and WWE's a disappointment so in that case TNA "won".
TNA is moving to monday on a permanent basis I wonder how Vince will react

So the Monday Night Wars are back for real? Although if Vince was really threatened this war would be be like Germany vs Poland.

This is exciting though. Should make wrestling really interesting in the near future with MNW Round 2 and it being the "Road to WM" at the same time.

all of us should be excited for this . TNA is no where near WWE . But they do consistently have a better show than raw .

I dunno about that! RAW has been pretty good this year. TNA's Jan 4th show was absolutely ridiculous.

They need to be on Monday, even if it's a taped show. People will flip the channel during commercials naturally. If TNA can put on a better show than Raw (and as much as we call them a WWE retirement home, that isn't hard to do given what Raw is) people will stay there.
Still better than Germany vs. France.
Exactly, at least Poland had the balls to fight
No doubt TNA has am uphill struggle but I trust they'll improve one week at a time.
Maybe this will light a fire under Vinces ass

TNA going head to head again against WWE with a guest hosed edition of RAW by Cheech and Chong...for some reason going into the biggest and most extravegent pay per view that is supposed to be WWE's crowning jewel, it seems to me that TNA is going to garner even more attention and viewers that night. TNA will bring us the A-List peformances and I can still see more interview time than wrestling time from WWE on this episode of RAW. Even though I don't think WWE will lose the ratings against TNA I think you can expect perhaps for TNA to beat that 2.2 from the 3 hour live Impact they have on Monday previously.
