<!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message -->WHAT THE FUCK?
Thank you for ruining Edge's return, thank you for ruining what would have been my only mark out moment in a year.
WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU NOT TYPE "SPOILERS" WHEN YOU TYPE WHAT THE SPOILER IS RIGHT BESIDE IT!!!!!!!!!
Now I know Edge is confirmed, he is my favourite wrestler, hearing his damn music hit would have made me mark out so bad, but no, you have to fucking ruin it, couldn't you make the title "Royal Rumble major spoilers" alone? Seriously man, use your goddam brain. Why mark for spoilers when the spoiler is right beside where you mark for spoilers.
Fuck this shit, you're not the only one who does it, so many people do, i am out of the fucking wrestling forum besides for tipsters until Wrestlemania is over, see you all April fourth

I disagree. Edge's wasn't shocking, really, but Cena's was yawn-worthy.

Royal Rumble is a live show all over the world, so if you don't want to read about it how about not coming to the wrestling forum?
I and most people don't really think about people who don't get shows when they are supposed to air. It is easy to forget. But you know what, I watch TNA every week and I never read the spoilers. I watch out for it here, so if you really don't want to get spoiled you shouldn't post here. There will always be accidents.
Now let me just say I am not the kind of person who will intentionally spoil a show or segment to piss somebody off or to have a title that says "EDGE RETURNS AND WINS!" but you know there are tons of idiots here that will so just be smart.
It seems every few weeks this happens and somebody gets pissed off. Your not going to control some guy who just started posting here and doesn't know the rules.
Hell I have been posting here for 10 years and I could easily forget.
Sorry I just think its a loosing battle.

AND just to say, I was pretty underwhelmed by Edge winning the Rumble. I see Edge's rank in WWE Universe equal to Jericho. They both have risen from the bottom of the card, and have both headlined Wrestlemania, yet there is something about them that doesn't have the star power of Triple H, or HBK, The Undertaker, or dare I even say Cena.
I think Edge's biggest time for status was in his amazing feud with John Cena. I am a little baffled by the choice to win the Rumble because there doesn't seem to be an opponent for Edge that screams to me "Wrestlemania Main Event". Even Jericho, while normally would be an awesome PPV main event, seems a little lackluster for a Wrestlemania Main Event showdown.
They would be fighting because of an injury a half a year ago that I don't really remember or care about anymore.
The possibilties are
Edge/Sheamus - Give me a break, pass
Edge/Undertaker - Eh... I don't want that to main event again it had it's time and was great. Now I don't think they would pull it off as well as before.
Edge/Triple H - Now this has potential I think
Edge/HBK - Another decent pick
Edge/HBK/HHH - This would be great although I think I would rather see HHH/HBK/Undertaker
I am still confused, what match can Edge have that will fit the main event at Wrestlemania.
(Also it seems Cena, Orton, and Batista will be out of question as they are going down their own paths which look to be Cena/Batstia and Orton/Diabiase/Rhodes maybe)

Edge vs. Christian for the ECW Title. :shifty:

Well that may not be too off... WWE is going to revamp ECW into something else, after Wrestlemania. I wouldn't be too surprised if they were to rename the ECW Title, or create a new one and the match would be Edge vs Christian. That would be pretty awesome.

Considering that Christian has pretty much beat the entire ECW roster, who else is there?

Cena's was far less expected though. A lot of people were guessing that Edge could come back for it, but Cena was definitely not expected to come back when he did.

I don't know. Mr. Kennedy had a very similar injury and returned in a short time. There were reports that Cena would be out for longer, but the moment Cena's music hit, I knew that he had beaten the injury, and was about to win the Royal Rumble. People had also been joking about Cena returning and winning for weeks.
When Edge's music hit, I wasn't sure that he would win. I knew he would eliminate Chris Jericho, but I thought there was a chance they would repeat the MVP/Miz spot with both men going over and touching the floor.
I guess it's all subjective. I will say this: I sort of guessed Edge's music hitting when it did. "Surprised" isn't the right word about Edge's return. I wasn't shocked by Cena's either. The dude works hard -- was it really so difficult to see him beating an injury and returning ahead of schedule?

As for who Edge will face, just look at the expected line-up for WrestleMania:
* The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
* Sheamus vs. Triple H
* John Cena vs. Batista
* Edge vs. Chris Jericho
* Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase
* CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
Now, which of those matches is Edge in? Versus Chris Jericho. The safe bet would be Chris Jericho winning the Elimination Chamber with Shawn Michaels' help (I don't think it will be a full heel turn, but I think it will really express how much Shawn Michaels wants this match if he helps an arch-nemesis win the World Heavyweight Title), and then Edge wanting to cash in his shot against the man who hurt him.
How can the WWE fuck this up? By, for some reason, putting The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels as the headlining match, making both World Titles look like afterthoughts and cutting the balls off Jericho and Edge. I can see the WWE doing that.
Now, the WWE does throw wrenches into their ideas some of the time. For example: While Sheamus vs. Triple H seems like a logical excuse to be a WWE Title Match, the WWE could very easily have Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase for the WWE Title as a way of "boosting" that match (although I don't think it needs it). They could also put the WWE Title on John Cena, and have Vince McMahon grant Batista a title shot at Mania. Ew. But it wouldn't surprise me. Sheamus vs. Triple H could be a "grudge match," because the WWE may not feel that Sheamus is "ready" for the main event. I think those are where the variables will lay this year -- and not so much in the specific match-ups.
Although, if the WWE does shock us with a surprise match-ups, I could see Edge going for the WWE Title. Because I feel that Chris Jericho will be connected to Edge no matter what he does at WrestleMania, I think Jericho would do an Edge, lose the first Elimination Chamber, and then take Kofi Kingston's spot in the second EC -- winning the WWE Title. The Undertaker would retain the World Heavyweight Title, and Shawn Michaels would find a way to challenge for that (perhaps Vickie Guerrero trades Chris Jericho for Shawn Michaels behind the scenes after the first Chamber).
I see this turning into a Fatal 4-Way with Triple H and probably Sheamus, although Kofi Kingston's new character would probably be pissed off with Jericho for taking him out of the match. Either Kofi then enters Money in the Bank and vows to cash in that night (and probably does), or Kofi takes Sheamus' spot in the match, and we get Jericho vs. Edge vs. Triple H vs. Kofi. I know that sounds like a mess, and it is, but the WWE did that with their World Heavyweight Title Match last year.
Another I could see: CM Punk manages to win the World Heavyweight Championship in the Elimination Chamber -- Edge then goes after that World Title. This may seem to leave Rey Mysterio in the dark, but he and Punk have not had any sort of build to their WrestleMania program yet. Rey's story to this point has been trying to reclaim the World Title so he can prove that he is not a fluke. Rey could earn a title shot by competing in Money in the Bank -- and for a guy who is known as such a high-flyer, Rey has been in surprisingly few Ladder Matches.
This also leaves Chris Jericho without a program, but I could honestly see them turning Big Show face and putting him against Jericho. Does it seem like Jericho gets the shaft? Probably, but Jericho could also win his match. As the heat machine he is, he'd recover anyway.
So my obvious vote goes to Chris Jericho vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Title, with the slightly more abstract vote going to CM Punk vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Title -- with Punk likely bringing up Edge needing to use pain-killers because of all his injures and the like.
Mr. Nerfect
02-04-2010, 11:59 AM
Or maybe the WWE will combine the messes? CM Punk ends up in the RAW Elimination Chamber, and wins the WWE Title (he could use the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles as an excuse as to how he can enter a RAW match). Chris Jericho also wins the SmackDown! Elimination Chamber with Shawn Michaels' help. Edge cashes in his title shot against CM Punk, and Jericho defends the World Title against a hungry Rey Mysterio and a giant Big Show who feels he has been screwed in all the WrestleMania hype. The smallest World Champ and the largest as challengers for Jericho in one match.
Not likely, but I never would have called Edge vs. John Cena vs. Big Show for the RAW World Title at WrestleMania XXV.

Ok, I can buy that idea. The 08 Rumble was definitely over as soon as the first note of "My Time Is Now" hit, whereas it wasn't a foregone conclusion that Edge was going to win. I still think though that before the event itself, "Cena is going to return and win the Rumble" was less expected than "Edge is going to return and win the Rumble."

And I would agree with that statement. But I personally was not surprised at all when Cena returned. More...let down.
