TNA President Dixie Carter spoke to Fred Tropel of CanMag.com and explained that TNA Wrestling is going up against a corporate juggernaut that will stop at nothing to put them out of business.
“Our competition may not have the same opinion that competition is good for an industry and take every opportunity to try to shut us down,” she said. “I mean, it is the truest of David-and-Goliath situations, but we are scrappy. We will not take no for an answer, and we are going to have great success.”
With everything that WWE has going for them, Carter believes her company has a better in ring product and knows what the fans want.
“I think that these days you don’t have to be a bigger-than-life cartoon character. I mean, it’s much more about reality and what these guys can do in the ring. They are amazing athletes,” Carter said. “I can have an all-pro football player, an NBA star on, and they say, ‘We could never do something like this.’ You have no off season. It’s 52 weeks a year, and then we tour in between that. These guys are incredible athletes, and we do focus on the athleticism on our show much, much more.”

Okay, lemme look at one statement here....

“Our competition may not have the same opinion that competition is good for an industry and take every opportunity to try to shut us down,”
She is the one that moved to an already filled Monday night... signed retired dinosaurs instead of focusing on her product, and killed the one non-retarded thing that made TNA not look like it was trying to become the next WCW (the six sided ring).
I know Dixie isn't the one who came up with all of these ideas, but as someone that high on the food chain she gets the blame for not keeping her company in check.
....sounds a lot like holding a toy gun up telling a cop you're going to fire. Seriously. If she's saying WWE is trying to shut her down when her company is making mistakes left and right that has NOTHING to do with WWE, then she's on something.

1. Not her company.
2. Hogan apparently now has as much stroke as her.
3. The 6 sided ring was shit.

Did I miss something? Isn't her legit title "President of TNA Entertainment"? The majority of the company is owned by Panda Energy, and Panda Energy gave Dixie that title.

With Panda Energy owning 72 percent of TNA then Hogan may have the influence, but not the power.

Six sided ring... I'll give you that, but at least they didn't do a three tier cage match with two faces vs every heel in a convoluted gauntlet.

Panda Energy is owned by Dixie's father and has nothing to do with her. Dixie was just the one that got them involved with TNA. Her role as president is nothing more than a job, much like Hogan's job is playing bookerman. The only person Hogan apparently answers to is Robert Carter, who I don't think is exactly 'heavily involved'.

It should be noted that in both the case of WCW and TNA, it was them who decided to compete directly with Vince on Monday nights.
In neither case did he go after them, but was rather attacked at his existing time slot.

That's not to say that I think they're wrong to do so. They should want to grow as companies and to be the top dog that's what they have to do. WCW succeeded for a while. The verdict is still out on TNA.
With all that being said, Dixie is obviously wrong with what she's saying. Unless of course she's talking about what Vince did in the 80s.

Fourfifty....you've never had anything constructive to say about TNA, so this does not surprise me. By the way, those dinosaurs of yours are slowly gaining ratings....I guess not everyone thinks the way internet fans do.

those dinosaurs are one of the reasons WCW went out of business

WCW's lack of a clear, reasonable, no-nonsense boss with a business sense and a mind for the wrestling world was one of the reasons WCW went out of business.

Stevevis Cious89, FourFifty is entitled to an opinion, as is everyone on the internet. Maybe when your post count passes 500, people might care about yours.

Y'know I never liked the 6-sided ring, and was so happy when I heard TNA were getting rid of it, but now I kinda feel like TNA has 'lost it's identity' so to speak. :(

But yeah TNA is basically WCW 2000 with all these old guys again. :nono:
