Hey Fallen Angel, didn't you say a while ago that you were done with this thread? Let's go ahead and follow through on that.

title defense mode is hard as fuck on beginner.... once you get past the C tier, you get knocked out first match in the B

Still couldn't invite thecc or CSL. Wouldn't think you would have to have an online fight, just enter the code but I dunno.

I made it past the first B Tier match, but I took so many shots to the head that most of the damage carried over to the second one. I didn't last long.

yea i was the same way
I blew through defense mode with Wanderlei until the 2nd match of Tier A when Alan Belcher turned into Anderson Silva, dodging just about everything I threw until he caught me flush with a counter punch that KO'd me. Was pretty frustrating.
Actually, gonna have another crack at it with Shogun due to him being lethal.

yea my caf i made through career had 100 strength, 80 cardio and speed and 100 striking and for some reason justin mcaully became the most dangerous striker in the world in tier B but i still pulled out the win... then in the next match andrei 1 hit KOed me
lol yeah, sounds about right.
Went through with Shogun, only really had problems with Vera kneeing from the clinch and Tito's takedowns. You only get some points and a trophy for finishing it, stingy fuckers.

anyway if anyone wants a guy with unreal stats and hasnt figured it out yet.....
get your fighters stats to 70 across the board and dont use your points until after your last fight when you have like 2 more weeks to spar and then start adding your points in... obviously its a little more in depth than that, but if you know what your doing, that should make you get guys that are unreal.

Dunno why but having real trouble throwing people in this version, its probably to do with getting in the right clinch, but even then still cant get them down easily.
Still having issues with this, totally annoying as all I'm now doing is striking.

Are you talking about career mode? If so, you have to learn the throws from a camp. If you're talking about any other mode, I'm not really sure what the problem is.

yea your coach makes a big deal out of it... you have a ton of time though. The career goes until 2021 or 23
Still having issues with this, totally annoying as all I'm now doing is striking.
if its in career mode, you have to actually learn how to throw people or else you will never be able to.
does anyone else know how to unlock the camp's logos to put on your clothes?
Anybody Thrilla

If I had to guess, I'd figure you'd have to learn all the moves at said camp.

You don't want to learn 47 moves to get a Team Punishment logo????
I mean, some moves that you learn are in several camps, so it wouldn't be AS bad, but it would still take forever. Maybe it has something to do with your relationships with the people at the camp? Cain Velasquez is apparently my BFF now.

Also, after I won the Heavyweight title and defended it like three times, they asked me if I wanted to switch weight classes. I was sick of fighting the same guys over and over so I did it, but now my stat maxes are 95, 85, 85. I'm wondering if when I retire, I'll be a heavyweight or a lightheavyweight. Also, in the game progress tracker, it says you gain progress in career mode as you complete careers in different weight classes. I wonder how they'll count this.
Reavant
06-02-2010, 10:15 AM
well it takes away a lot of time from sparring and shit like that... i dunno a lot of the moves that you can do in the camps, you already know... kinda retarded

I know I suck at this game, but apparently Diego Sanchez can't beat Sean Sherk for the Lightweight Championship. I finally got to where I'd force it to the 3rd round and I'd get KOd within the first 30 seconds on the 3rd round.
I finally got pissed after Sherk whooped my ass for like the 20th time and started a title mode with Matt Hughes and was mowing down competition, but then I hit a brick wall in the title fight. I don't get it... I KOd BJ Penn and GSP in Round 1, but I can't stop Jon Fitch from pounding my face in.
The sway thing is hard for me to do real fluidly.

KOed Machida for my 3rd defense today and was offered to move to Heavyweight. I wanted to see if they would offer to let me move to Middleweight so I rejected. Now I have to defend against Rua before I get to find out.
In about the 4th/5th year, 19-0, 4 or 5 heavyweight title defenses, got all my stats at 70 but keep striking and subs around the 90's. Turned down a move to LHW so I'm fighting Rampage next in the HW champ vs. LHW champ fight. Anybody got any camp logos yet? That's what I'm trying to work on atm.

Currently working my way through a new career after the stat decay raped my first fighter, currently 10-0 and moving slowly up the ranks. Trying to get all my stats up to 30, then concentrating on getting to 50 before learning more moves. Any tips on which are the best to go for/most vicious and devastating?
Only moves I've learned are Shogun's left hook, Brock's straight right (lethal) a left uppercut from inside and the D'arce choke from side control rocked. Only one I really 'needed' was the straight right. Gonna work on adding some more slams and subs though.
Reavant
06-09-2010, 12:06 PM
Get your suplex from the double underhook position to world class or level 3. Its the easiest takedown in the game.
Then get your ground grapple offense to 70 and then immediately learn the salavery position (the top crucifix) and get that to level 3.
those two things alone will make your fighter ridiculous

you get a couple weeks after your last fight to spar/train to get plug in any unused stats points
Impact!
06-12-2010, 11:20 AM
Oh it's only a few weeks after the last fight. I was wondering why it was still gonna let me train.
Also made Hall of Fame on my second go in career. 52-2 record, with 3 title defences with the welterweight belt, and over 20 title defences with the middleweight belt (as well as beating GSP in a Middle v welter bout). Awesome :D

Currently something ridiculous like 37-0 in career, decided against moving weight classes and just dominate the light heavyweight divison. Made hall of fame and won the pound for pound fight, just make sure your conditioning is high as possible otherwise you will get your ass handed to you.
alvarado52
06-12-2010, 05:22 PM
make sure youre submission defense is high too. Not many fighters in LHW div will try to submit you, but if you move up to Heavy, they will try. Thats how i freakin' lost to Frank Mir 3 times (the only fighter in my career that had multiple victories over me)

Getting pretty frustrated with submissions here. It seems like nothing is even happening when I rotate the stick. Been doing everything I can.
Been tapping guys out left, right and centre in career mode but it takes/took some getting used to. You need to kill off the others guys stamina (body shots is the best way) and have decent sub and strength stats. If the other guy has higher strength and better sub stats, you aren't gonna tap him out. Attempting subs while they're rocked helps as well.
Nark Order
06-18-2010, 11:58 AM
Yeah, I'll try this. Will be a guy with high sub skills at first to try to ease my way into it.

Yeah, I finally got one with BJ Penn. I basically punished his gut until he got rocked, took him down, then locked on a knee bar. Seems Submissions aren't practical for every fight and you should probably know your opponents stats well before you try them.
Disturbed316
06-18-2010, 12:42 PM
Submissions are pretty easy providing you have the right fighter. Career is done and dusted, remained undefeated, HoF inductee etc. Doubt I'll be going through it again though, found it really boring towards the end and those end of fight interviews turned into a giant pain.
Trying to get through Title Defence, but keep getting twated around the end of B division/begining of A, quite frustrating.
Try a LHW one with Shogun, I blew through it at my 2nd attempt.

Ok
So I got this and I love it.
Im having a hard time in areer mode. Anyone have advice? Seems like no matter what you start with a base set of shit skills and need to learn new ones through camps, right? Like you dont get skills based on like a class type or style type selection like last year.
Seems like no matter what, my career mode guy is worthless on the ground. Like I cant even get a single transition. And when I try to come up to ground and pount, I cant get my face of their chest.
Tips?

what camp did you go to for those two punches? I need some more stuff to add
Shoot which camps are the most ideal to go to and which aspects of fighting are best to get? I'm still early in my career so I can afford to get plenty of new stuff.

i made sure every guy ive put through career mode learned the suplex from the double underhook position. You get there real easy and its a solid takedown.

I like to shoot double, and then use the transition from open to side control I learned at Greg Jacksons.
From there I can learn that top crucifix thing right? What advantage does that have?
At what skill level and strength level does submission become an option? Im coming up on 50 sub and still at 40 strength. Its early in my career.

Learn Suplex to Side Control asap in career.
Spar and do it over and over again.
Max points.
Doesnt work with first patch.
Max out all caf's then d/l patch.

plus get submission offense of about 85 or more and do the arm triangle choke once you get to the ground. if you do it on expert i've got something like 450 points a session doing it, though usually it's more 300 and something.
i am so good at this game. breaks my heart my connection is shit.

also never try to transition :'( just use reversals for everything.
if you're playing the computer get rubber guard, then when they take you down you can slap it on and punch them in the head 400 times.
