– Former WCW World and WWF tag team champion Ron Simmons has announced that he will wrestle his last match on Saturday night for Historic Purks International Championship Wrestling. WWE HoF at some point?
Or not until JBL officially hangs it up so they go in together?
He'll probably go in down the line, not with JBL though.

On the one hand, they were a great team and for that they should be recognized.
But, right after I posted, I thought that if JBL does get in it will be more focused on his singles success.

JBL can get in based on his singles career alone. I actually don't think he is in without his singles run.

True, but I don't know that Ron gets in without his tag run. Though I guess they could recognize it by having JBL induct him and talk about it.

Yeah, the Acolytes will be the main reason he gets in. It's not like he's the first black world heavyweight champion or anything like that...
Now that worth giving a damn! Thanks for the acolytes and the Nation of Domination too..

Ron Simmons is def going into the HoF. First African American world champion? WIN.
Other than he and Booker T, has there been any others?
(And no, Rock doesn't count.)
The news in this is not that he is retiring.
The news in this was the fact that he was still wrestling.

do you count the NWA/TNA Belt?
I was thinking WWE/WCW/WHC, but sure, why not.
Killings I know is there.

yea, that's pretty much it for major World titles.
I mean we can count WCCW maybe? Then you throw in Ernie Ladd and Ice Man Parsons. But they were part of NWA and they weren't really the NWA Champion
Ron retired, came out and wants to retire yet again?

Yeah, isn't that right Eddie Graham?
Let me ask someone else: Verne Gagne?
How about... Gordon Solie?
You're right.
Also, Kerry was the only Von Erich that was in the WWF. They inducted the whole family.

If it were up to me, he'd go in this year. I mean he's going into the Georgia Hall of Fame, he went into the College Football Hall of Fame last year...this would probably be the perfect year for him to go in, or if not maybe next year as WM 27 is scheduled for Atlanta.

To be honest I never really cared about Ron Simmons anyway, and didn't find the whole 'Damn!' thing funny.
