View Full Version : Move of a Thousand Names

One of the things I've found interesting in wrestling over the years are finishing moves and their names. There are so many different name given to the same wrestling move, that it's hard even to remember them all. Therefore I felt it would be fun to start a game to see how many names you guys can remember.

The game goes as so:
I will name a wrestling move and you must give at least one alternate name for that move. For example...

Rock Bottom

...an alternate name would be...

Book End

You can name as many alternate names for a move as you like, but only one is required. Also, after you have listed the alternate name(s), place down another move with an alternate name for the game to continue. Okay...here we go...

What is another name for the RKO.

If anyone says "Diamond Cutter", I will knife you.

The RKO is NOT the move DDP made famous.

I would call it a floating neckbreaker, though.

Fine the Bubba Cutter. :p Bubba Dudley used it a few times.

Tazmission

Rock Bottom

Evenflow, Impaler, DDT.

Hurricanrana, "Headscissors take-down."

And the Book End isn't done the same as the Rock Bottom.

Also I coined the name "Elevated Firemen's Carry" for what move.

Yeah, people were trying to figure out what the FU was, and were calling it a dvd. I refure to call that thing a dvd.

It's not a DVD.

If I took a DVD I'd probably die. If I took and FU, I'd get up and punch the guy.

Evenflow, Impaler, DDT.

They are all different moves aren't they? Inverted DDT, Impaler, Edgecution. DDT, Sweet Dreams. Inverted Figure Four, Venis Flytrap, Trailer Hitch (I think).

BTW, Rene Dupree does a DVD alled the French Rivierre. It would be funny if the reason he can't use it on SmackDown! is because it might outshine the F-U.

I'll take the first shot.

Stone Cold Stunner
The Last Dance
Chart Buster
Wippersnapper
The Apocalypse
Ace Driver

What Would Kevin Do?

Ace Driver

I'm pretty sure it's an ace crusher ( if we're thining of the same move) and it's not quite a diamon cutter, or a stunner, it's in between.

Also, the Rikishi driver and Michinoku drive are two different moves.

I'm not sure about the move with the most names, but I know the powerbomb probably has the most variations.

I think he's talking about Michinoku Driver #2. Taka had 3 versions of it. He used #2 in ECW mostly. And #1 in WWE.

LOL, HeartBreakKid2k your name gave me an idea. The move with probably the most names is the superkick.

Superkick
Sweet Chin Music
Steven Kick
Stevie Kick
Samoan Kick
Sidekick
Standing Sidekick
Feliner (I think The Cat used this as the Feliner once or twice)
Glacier had one (forgotten the name)
Jungle Kick
The Whack
And others
*Shelton Benjamin may give his a name soon (Money Clip)

Colossal Kick was Glacier's finisher, and The Feliner was a spinning back kick.

And Rikishi had his own name for the kick I think.

I still think Rosey's finisher should be called The Fan.

Michinoku Driver # 1 is sort of like a suplex into the driver
Michinoku Driver # 2 is the commonly used sitdown body slam type move
Michinoku Drive Beta ( pretty sure it's Beta) starts off like an reverse DDT, and he lifts them into the air almost like a reverse suplex and drops him into the driver.

He's talking about # 2 ( basically the sit out body slam, except it's usually an upper back bump). However, the Rikishi Driver is not a michinoku driver. It is a fire thunder driver, AKA a sitdown tombstone, It's a head/neck bump.

Colossal Kick was Glacier's finisher, and The Feliner was a spinning back kick.

I believe it was the Cryonic Kick. Keepin' in theme with the whole "Ice" gimmick.
