Lets help Outsider save £160....

Right, I'm trying to play Mass Effect 2, and for some reason my X-Box keeps freezing during the cut scenes. It played the first hour of the game fine, but now it won't go more than ten minutes without fucking up.

My first guess is that the game was faulty, so I took it back and go another one, but within minutes it did the same.

My console is over three years old, so I'm guessing Microsoft will just point and laugh at me if I try and blame them.

I guess it could be a problem with the disk drive, seeing as sometimes I have to press it multiple times to get it to open, but last night it played a DVD absolutely fine, and it doesn't freeze during games. However, it does tell me the disk can't be read often. But ME2 is the only thing it's done this with.

So, does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Or shall I just go ahead and throw it at my housemate next time he's a twat?

Disc is faulty, there was a bout of this with MW2 as well where alot of brand new discs just wouldnt read/would screw up.

Turns out it's not the game. What I was experiencing is a symtom of a hardware faliure.

Which appeared as three red lights today.

Yikes. Bitten in the ass by the RRoD sucks, especially when you don't even suspect that to be the culprit of a problem with a 360 console. Hope your warranty is still valid or who knows how much you may end up shelling out for repairs.

Don't think it is, but microsoft don't seem to want to charge me so am sending it away. I guess they may then try to charge me anyway, but will have to wait and see.

I really must send my old box off to be fixed and sell it or give it to someone. Wasn't arsed at the time just bought an Arcade one and stuck my old harddrive in.
