The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s plans for a debut in the Middle East took a hit on Thursday when an injured shoulder forced Vitor Belfort to withdraw from his fight with UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva at UFC 112 on April 10th in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the news to Yahoo! Sports on Thursday and said Silva would remain on the card, but didn’t say who he would fight.
Wow. I was so excited for this fight. Who else can stand a chance against Silva?
Randy Couture is signed on for four remaining fights and entering the twilight of the greatest career in the UFC ever. Silva-Couture would be a blockbuster in White’s book, and it also proves to cultivate Silva’s career while defining the remainder of Couture’s. Could Couture stand toe-to-toe with Silva?

Randy is probably the one person I do NOT want to see Anderson fight. Randy Couture is my favorite fighter ever, and at this stage in his carear I think he'd either be able to drag Anderson through the trenches, or in a much more likely scenario Anderson's speed would be just too much for him and he'd be outclassed. I'd hate to see how it would affect Randy's career and legacy if the latte were to happen.

The next guy in line is probably Sonnen, but he's not gonna be ready in time...Bet the UFC wished they still had Hendo around.
Kinda would like to Silva V Vera or Silva V Chuck (I don't like Chuck) :p

Isn't Randy V Franklin being considered as the co main event to Chuck V Tito 3?

One of the few fights I've been looking forward too after months of shitty cards. This is terrible.

I want Randy to go away, I used to really like him, but now he fights every 2 months and his fights are boring.

Chael Sonnen WON'T be fighting Anderson Silva at UFC 112. Story soon on Yahoo! Sports.
There's no need to make Silva defend the title at 112. Belfort is out until the end of the year. The Couture fight would be a dream and wouldn't take much for them to find a replacement for the co-main event to Liddell vs. Ortiz III.

Main Card
* Middleweight Championship bout: Brazil Anderson Silva (c) vs not Dan Henderson
* Lightweight Championship bout: United States B.J. Penn (c) vs. United States Frankie Edgar[1]
* Welterweight bout: United States Matt Hughes vs. Brazil Renzo Gracie[1]
Doesn't almost everyone get issued a 30 day no contact thingy if they had a tough fight? That means Chael and Randy can't do anything until this time next month and then that leaves only one month to train. It's unlikely it'll be either of them.

Nah at least Maia will try and pull guard...
and will get his head knocked off.

If Maia's head doesn't get knocked off, and he manages to pull guard, he'll stand a chance.
If he manages to bust out a throw similar to what he busted out against Sonnen, he'll stand a chance.

Lame.
They should have given Henderson the next crack at Silva's Championship anyways. I bet if they guarenteed Henderson his rematch, their contract negotiations would have gone smoother.

henderson doesn't deserve a title shot. since losing to anderson last time he's beat a guy i've never heard of before or since, going to a decision with rich franklin who is now way past his best and looking at retiring after getting his arse handed to him by belfort, and bisping, who is shit.

wow. Im not sure the name for a fan like you, I think front runner wouldnt be the right term, but calling franklin past his best? Hes the best 185 lber in the world not called anderson silva or vitor. He was robbed in a decision with henderson and outside of those three people his only other loss is to lyoto machida. Yea hes fucking terrible.
And Henderson did have the most competitive fight with anderson seeing as how he took it into the second round actually fighting him.

i didn't say he was terrible you div. he is the gatekeeper, no doubt, but he's nowhere near touching anderson and if you can't beat him convincingly, like you say henderson didn't, then you're just being fed to anderson silva rather than being a challenge. whatever way you want to look at it, franklin isn't on the way up anymore.
ufc matches are generally easy enough to pick the outcome of already without just throwing matches together for the sake of putting out a ppv a month. they're throwing guys into championship fights before they're ready and it's only going to serve to widen the gulf between the champions and the rest of the pack.

yea... im suprised they felt they needed it to be a middleweight championship match when they could have made a bigger splash with couture and silva
