http://www.tpww.net/2010/02/mike-tenay-worried-backstage-tna-wants-jim-ross/

Eric Bischoff is still intent on bringing Jim Ross into TNA as an announcer. After many months of speculation as to what he’d do when his WWE contract expired, Ross signed a short-term extension back in December and is expected to be with WWE through mid-2010. That said, the face of the pro wrestling industry is sure to change this year, with TNA going to Monday nights on March 8th, so who knows what the future holds. It should also be noted that TNA pushed hard to recruit the WWE hall of famer for iMPACT!’s three-hour live show on January 1st.

» With that being said, Mike Tenay, who has been with TNA since day one, is said to be paranoid over his position with the company due to the fact that people within the organization have attempted to recruit Jim Ross as his replacement. Although it should be noted that Tenay is considered by many in the company to be paranoid in general, but the company’s shift in power has made him more leery than usual.

I'd say if they somehow do it, replace Tazz instead of Tenay.

Never really cared for Tazz as an announcer.

J.R. isn't going to leave a company he's been loyal to for some 17 years now, just because he had a random health condition pop up that temporarily prevents him from being able to work for several months.

Anyone who thinks he has the slightest chance of finishing his career anywhere other than WWE is a complete moron.

Shut up. Vince and his boys get a kick out of treating JR like shit and have done for years. Whilst I'd be suprised if he ever showed up in TNA, to say that 'Anyone who thinks he has the slightest chance of finishing his career anywhere other than WWE is a complete moron' is one of the stupider things I've seen you post. And that's saying something.

I think Jim Ross hating Eric Bischoff more than anything else on Earth might be the reason he will not go to TNA...just sayin'.

If Jim Ross goes to TNA (big if), I'd like to see Tenay become the third guy on the team. He fit well in that role during his WCW days, and I think he would do well in that role again.

Be amusing if he did, mc mahon shit canned jr twice in the past, they fucked him over with the move to smackdown he wasn't informed of. Possible i suppose but with Bischoff being there not that likely.

Dude, most everyone except possibly the past WWE talent in TNA probably don't know or don't even give a fuck who J.R. is, to be quite frank. Also, he won't give up job security and better pay in WWE to go to TNA. And thirdly, yes, they do like treating J.R. like dirt on-camera, but for the most part, off-camera and what not, like in his blogs and whatever he's always talking about how much he loves working with WWE and how much he loves his job.

I for one, would love to see J.R. if he's physically able, return to the RAW announce table, or at least have a cameo appearance on 3/15 and have some kind of interaction with long-time kayfabe and real-life friend Stone Cold, who will be hosting that night.

Mike Tenay is a terrible announcer, he needs to shut the fuck up and let shit play out. I don't need him doing play by play and recapping what was just said during promos.

Let me ask you: Would you bash your current employer on a blog that many of the higher ups could (and probably do) read?

Not saying I think JR is unhappy with WWE. He just wouldn't be dumb enough to post about it while still under contract.

In some of his blogs he does distance himself from the WWE saying "they" instead of "we". Nothing thats really gonna draw any major shit from wwe though.

This seems like something TNA would do. JR has an iconic voice associated with professional wrestling, and if they are going in to bat against the WWE with Jim Ross, they win on the commentary front (although they do already). JR and Taz were a good team, too.

I doubt Mike Tenay would lose his job or anything. He'd still work backstage and such -- probably as a writer.

At his current juncture (i.e. not being on TV/not actually working) though, that seems more appropriate. He's not [directly/as far as I know] involved.

It becomes him commenting on what the company is doing (they) rather than what he is involved in doing with the company (we).

I think TNA should have two shows to better utilise their talent, anyway. Eric Bischoff seems against the idea; but if they went for it, Jim Ross and Mike Tenay as the two play-by-play men for the company would be fine. Have Taz and Mick Foley do the color analysing.
