View Full Version : In terms of top-tier HOFers, who's left?
With DiBiase going in this year, it seems that the list of "headline" HOFers is dwindling.
Forgetting about filler here, who are the big names you think could be a major HOF draw and WWE would put into the HOF (personal grudges not withstanding)?
Off the top of my head:
The Rock
LOD
Savage
Warrior
Goldberg
Bischoff
Vince McMahon
Shawn Michaels
The Undertaker
Those last two are close enough to the end of their careers that they could be put in within the next few years.

Sting
Lex Luger
Steiners (as a team though)

Mic Foley would probably be a draw but I don't think his credentials are that of a sure fire HOF'er. As if that means anything anyway.
Damn. You just beat me Xero.

Heyman?
Definitely Heyman.
It would be amazing if one year they had Vince, Heyman and either Bischoff or Ted Turner go in at once.
Maybe make it an all non-wrestler one, throw in a few announcers and Jim Johnston to round out the filler.

The Rock and him hold the record for the highest rated Raw segment of all times. I'm sure he'll get in just fine.

do they have to be a major draw or are you just talking big names?
There's not a lot of major draws left, but there's a lot of big names left

Well, they sort of do have to draw, since I'm looking more for potential HOF headliners.

yea, ok. There's not a lot of star power type names like you guys listed. There's a ton of the upper mid card guys (dead and alive) that will most likely go in.
But for the HOF crowd, it's a lot of fans like us that will go to the event and tune in. So guys like Jake Roberts, Tully Blanchard, Vader, Barry Windham, Magnum TA, Muta, Dynamite Kid ,(not happening), Freebirds, Demolition, Honky Tonk etc etc etc will become draws.
Sadly, there's also a ton of deseased wrestlers that deserve it was well

Kevin Nash, maybe? He certainly has a place in history, both as Diesel and Big Sexy...rose to stardom with HBK, one of the founding members of the nWo, etc. Of course, current relations between him and the company probably make it hard for him to get in anytime soon, but maybe eventually?

yea, was going to say Nash and Hall. Definately draws, but I didn't include because it seemed as if we are talking guys potentially going in within the next couple years. I don't see them going in for a while

If WWE or Vince is willing to go back future than the 1970s and 1980s and use people popular from the time of today's older population, I could see maybe a Gorgeous George since he was the 1st popular tv heel of the 1950s.
For WCW era people, Bischoff and Sting since Sting is the biggest name left from WCW not inducted yet while Bischoff was as important as Vince McMahon in the Monday Night Wars.
I could also see a Trish Stratus if they want to include more women wrestlers into the Hall since she was very popular during her time with the WWE.
What Would Kevin Do?

I don't think Goldberg will ever be in the WWE HoF, just saying.

yea, George is who I thought as well when I initially read the thread. But that's why I asked Xero is he was only wanting us to come up with people who would headline the show in today's time. Unless you're really into wrestling history, most people have no clue who he is or what he really meant.
I think he deserves a spot 100%, but he would just be a "filler" type guy that goes in. George was wayyyyyyyyyyy before his time though and was the first true wrestling gimmick/character
Owen Hart (never will happen :'()
British Bulldog
"Ravishing" Rick Rude
Legion Of Doom
Pretty sure all 4 of these will go in, dunno why you'd doubt Owen

Agree since Vince/WWE current mindset is the candidate needs to be within last 20-30 years in order for people to remember or care about the wrestler. I don't blame him or the WWE though since wrestling's main viewing audience is either very young for current era, or have been watching wrestling since the 1980s when wrestling went back to mainstream status.
They could however be using their wwe.com website and WWE 24/7 much better to improve people's wrestling history and as a result open up more wrestlers to the Hall without worrying about ever running out of quality main event material.

I think Xero's original concept of this thread has been totally lost. He's not asking who do you think should get in. He's asking who are the main draws that are left? I think we as hardcore wrestling fans can all agree that about 100-150 more people should get in, but there's very few larger then life superstars that are left.

Macho Man Randy Savage
The Ultimate Warrior
The Rock (I'm sure at some point this will happen)
Mick Foley (most likely will be back at some point)- I see his being one of the inductees at WM30, with the big one being Vince McMahon

No way this is happenning. Never worked for the WWF and I don't think they'd induct WCW exclusive wrestlers.

Uh, Verne Gagne? Gordon Solie? Not to mention guys who had much more success outside the WWF.
WCW-exclusive wrestlers are fair game as far as I'm concerned, especially considering WWF owns the footage.

Ron Simmons and JBL would be great individually. I mean, frankly their time as the APA took up only a small fraction of both men's careers.

I don't think Goldberg will ever be in the WWE HoF, just saying.
I'd say he deserves it. He doesn't deserve it more than most of the others already listed, but the man drew the highest rated televised match in history, and while he was far from the best wrestler ever, you can argue that he was one of the most charismatic. When you talk about having "it", Bill Goldberg is Exhibit A.
terry funk got inducted last year
Ah, just found that out. Must have missed it for all the hoopla given to SCSA.
