View Full Version : Could Rob Terry and/ or Chris Masters be the next Lex Luger?

I have been watching alot of "late WCW" reciently after somebody tried to say that Luger's career was cut short because of an accident. I have no idea what they were talkin about and I will say Lex looked like he was in the best shape when he reamerged as just The Total Package in late 1999 (plus Liz looked just as beautiful as ever). Anyways, back to my original question with Masters back and off the roids and Rob Terry's recient title win and face turn could either of them be the next bodybuilder turned world champion?

Haven't seen much of Masters since he came back. But I remember during his first run he was improving all the time. I don't know if he could be a world champion but I wouldn't hate it.

I dont think so seeing is how Luger has had so many accomplishments aswell as the fact he had SO MUCH more charisma

With a new, bad-ass theme like that and Eve Torres already by his side, I don't see why Masters couldn't pull it off...although it was kind of weird. Last Friday (2/12) WWE came in to our town for a RAW Road To WrestleMania show and Masters did one of his now famous/infamous Master Lock Challenges. Santino answered, but wanted Eve's managerial services on the line to which they agreed, and to be honest, I'd be lying if I said for the tiniest split-second in my head I didn't think there was the possibility Santino could have actually "won".

he was awful in 99. his accident was in 1992, so don't know what you mean as obviously his career was not cut short.

I think Masters would pull it off, but I doubt he ever gets over like Luger did

I think the whole thing with him running around breakin peoples arms with a chair and teaming with Buff Bagwell were horrible, but he was in great shape and was still decient in the ring (as good as Lex could be in the ring). I was completely unaware of his accident in 1992, he had a full career both before and after that.

I think Chris Masters has got a deceptively good shot at making it big. He's only 27 years old, is improving all the time, has a good connection with the crowds, and has a hot valet. He's *this* close to connecting with the fans enough to warrant a push.

Well, if Masters can kill Eve Torres with an overdose, than the answer is yes.

Haven't seen enough of Masters since his return to comment, but just wanted to add that Luger in '99 was awful.

One thing I would add to Masters is a second finishing move. The Masterlock has been built up well (to the point when people were marking out for it when he was a generic heel), but it'd be cool if he had some other move that could get him a few pinfall victories here and there over guys the WWE may not want to have pass out in the full nelson.

I'd rather see Terry do it..... guy is ripped to shit and might actually have charisma if he were ever given the mic

You are being sarcastic, right?

For a guy who does pretty much nothing obvious, Masters gets really good reactions. His work as a face has also been quite...good. There's something about the guy that makes me like him. I always felt a bit sorry that he was saddled with such a shallow gimmick when he debuted.

Let me put it to you this way, Gary: whether you like him or you hate him, there will never be another Lex Luger.
