View Full Version : Will Sheamus ever win the WWE title again?

My first gut reaction to the question would be "Of course he will" but after thinking about it for a minute, I'm not so sure. Obviously Sheamus winning the belt was some sort of test or experiment and I think Sheamus actually did fantastic for his first run, but could he turn into a one reign champion like JBL or Kane?

What do you think about Sheamus and his future? Do you see the Championship in his future again?

I think he will win it again, given the landscape of the WWE, brand extension, and the way their championship pool crowds up

I think he will still be a viable contender...on Smackdown. Expect him to be one of the first big names shipped there in the upcoming draft.

I hope that they actually build him up some next time before giving him the title.

Personally, I wouldn't lose any sleep if he never had the title again. If they are going to do it though, establish some credibility for him first.

I could see him winning the belt again but I could also see him used as just another intimidating monster/enforcer type character until the end of his WWE tenure. Really hope they do something with him though. I've grown to like the guy. Unique look, solid in the ring, and can work the mic well for a guy who's been in the company for only a year or so.

You win, you're more annoying than I am. I've been defeated. Congrats.

If he can stay around without being let go for like 2 years, I can see him winning again

I don't know about most people's reaction to him winning the belt the first time, don't know if he got a huge heel heat or not. For me it was just "meh", so I, myself don't see him winning it again.

Wouldn't have a problem the next time around if he got the proper build. Yeah sure, due to the outcome of TLC, we had to run/deal with it for a while.

He's a former champion, they can either develop him or use him as a means to get other people over for the next few years.

I think we will see the WHC on Sheamus

I could see it. Personally, I don't think he should be away from the WWE Title picture right now. I'd care about Triple H vs. Sheamus far more if the belt was involved. Sheamus' stock would also get a huge boost if he walked out of Mania as the WWE Champion.

Eventually, I see some gold back on Sheamus. He's a very solid and well-rounded performer, and being a former WWE Champion means that if someone gets injured or something, he could very easily be positioned for another run. It would really make no sense for the guy to go nowhere.

You still can't point to anything that he's done that's impressive. I didn't watch ECW, but he didn't capture the title there. It's a moot point now that the show is gone and it probably would have been anyway since he's off the show, but that's one less credential to put in the portfolio. After all this time, he's still just got "Pushed Cena through table, won title." He didn't decisively win anything. I don't think you could even call him a monster right now.

He may win it, but I don't think it will be for quite some time if it happens. They need to actually build him up.

I think if they plan to have him face Triple H at Mania, that will be the biggest rub he's gotten yet.
Actually, it'll be pretty good for him.

If he wins, it's obvious that they're serious about doing something with him in 2010. If he loses, which is probably more likely, then I think that's probably the beginning of the end for him.
Actually, in concept it's similar to the old Taker wrestlemania matches. The Monster of the Week gets a strong build, is fed to Taker, and slowly fades into obscurity.
This woud basically be the same thing, only with HHH.
The concept is almost perfect, since it allows HHH to perpetuate his dominance without having to be part of one of the world title matches yet again.

I can't say I feel strongly about it either way. If they decide to push the guy and make something of it, I'm all for it because he's a new star. Still, I won't cry travesty if he get's "buried"

If Conan O'Brien ever does Guest Host RAW, I am looking forward to the interaction between Conan O'Brien and Sheamus. I will say that much.
