Outside of the top three (Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando), Miami can certainly win a 7 game series. Hawks or Philly may have talent, but Wade alone can win a series. If we actually break it down player by player, only the Hawks have a better starting 5, and the Wade-effect outmatches Atlanta in 7 (I can break down the actual numbers if need be). This is assuming all things continue in the same direction. It's unlikely that they match-up with Boston or LeBronland, but Orlando is a possibility. At the beginning of the season, Orlando crushes them in 5, but with Nelson gone... Well, Wade leads the league in scoring for a reason. Not saying they win, but it's a whole lot closer then people think. We can argue that they beat Detroit, Chicago, or heaven forbid the Bucks, should they move into the 4th slot. Again, I can break down positions if we really need to. God, the East is just pitiful. Oh, and Dave... Go play NBA2K or something to create a dream team that will never happen. I'll trade you Luke for Amare... Actually, fuck that. Ariza's better then #1 anyways. You can keep him/ I'll take: Paul Kobe LeBron Duncan Howard Can I trade Sun Yue? They're comparing him to Magic in China. |
I like the suns. It saddened me that they broke up a great team when they found a way to jettison Matrix. I actually think that the Suns are doomed to be the Sacramento Kings circa 2000-2004
haven't had time to be around lately, so a belated congrats to the lakers and spurs fans.
if someone know's where PJ Brown is, please tell him it's time to play some ball. |
GREAT trade by Miami.
O'neal is a mess, but way better than any center they have. Now haslem can stay at PF with Beasly off the bench. Miami dumped a worthless back up PG and got a Starting SF too. Seriously, Moon can fill in for marion who wasnt a fit in Miami, they upgraded their front court, and set 27 million to come off the cap to resign Wade and try for Bosh in 2010 |
And I hate Simmons, but love his list columns like this one every year.

Colangelo and Marion know each other their days with the Suns, and maybe Colangelo can re-sign Marion to a mid level contract. Which is about what he's worth at this point in his career. |
This HORSE contest is RETARDED.
LAAAAAAKE SHOWWWWWWWWW
Dwight Howard and the 12 foot rim, the phone booth, the cape. I LOVE ALL STAR WEEKEND
DAH DAH DAHDAHDAHHHHHHHHHH
Nate Robinson busts out the green uniform for Dwight's kryptonite
Bron in the dunk contest next year

Shawn Marion is a good player and its a shame he hasn't found a team where he can be best utilized. He was a good fit in D'Antoni's Suns though.
Anywho, I missed the Dunk Contest, did I miss anything spectacular?? |
You missed little Nate Robinson Dunking OVER dwight Howard for the Win!
Jesus, the little bugger has springs!

The dunk contest was the worst I have ever seen. Dwight was disappointing. Rudy's behind the back dunk by the way is VERY underrated.
It wasn't the best but it's far from the worst. I thought the crowd was super hot. dwight should have saved the 12 foot dunk for the last round. The free throw shoulda been first. He'd would've guaranteed victory that way. The dunk he did from the base line was pretty sweet, though.
So it looks like the Suns are gonna fire their coach...
Being able to dunk when you're 4 feet tall shouldn't win you the Dunk Contest. Fuck Nate Robinson.
i am telling you. worst i have ever seen.
Dwight didn't do much to win it either. He shot his load on his second dunk. He played the whole kryptonite thing pretty well too.
That 12 foot dunk looked effortless. Like he didn't even really try to do that. His coolest dunk was the one of the side of the backboard, easily.
Plus Nate pushed off Dwight to do that dunk. Dwight Howard is the reason Nate won. Had he not had let him jump over him, no way Nate wins.
Dwight could have used the 2nd rim better. in the 1st round, he could have put a spin on the Larry Nance classic (2 balls 1 basket) and used the 2nd basket to dunk on both (@ 10 ft) at the same time. And then done the 12 footer dunk (which I think he could have put a little flavor on) in the finals.
that sounds like mba jams. He shoulda had a 360 or tomahawk with the 12 foot rim in the finals. If He was gonna let nate dunk over him, then he shoulda did the 12 foot dunk in the finals too. Nate didn't really push off Dwight. He was protecting his nuts and Dwight's head.

Danny Granger All Star MVP tonight
Quote:
The Heat could be a scary matchup in the playofs. ANy time Wade is on the floor they can win. Chalmers is a nice fit next to wade, and The combo of Moon, O'Neal, Haslem with Cook and Beasley scoring off the bench is not too shabby. I think O'neal will play much better in Miami, much better fit, even if it is only 29 minutes a game. |
Kobe and Shaq were great tonight. Brought a tear to my Laker eye
Disgusting.
that was amazing and brought back so many memories.
Shaq will be a Laker once again. Guarantee it. |
I forgot that guys like Paul Pierce and Dwayne Wade would literally hog the ball all game. I love how Granger only got 10 minutes, but everyone else on the East got 15+. Total disrespect.
He was hurt.
Shaq and Kobe were so fake last night. |
I thought Alvin Gentry died 10 years ago...
He will die now.
Tyson Chandler to the Thunder for expiring contracts. Wow. If the Thunder can get Blake Griffin in the draft, they might have a good team next year.
The Hornets just don't wanna compete anymore I guess.
Chandler is having a huge down year an is overpaying.
They got back cap money to sign Paul Long term. They beefed up their frontcourt. Wilcox and Smith are outplaying chandler this year anyways. |
This shit is fucking awesome. 81 points in 1 half. SEVEN SECONDS OR LESS 4 LYFE.
Suck my dick, Terry Porter.
They are playing a scrub team, with like 4 injured players.
Yeah, calm down Wadding. We will beat you down coming soon.
Fuck you both. Let Terry Porter coach your team and see how happy you are when they actually act like they have a pulse.
"LAAAAAAKE SHOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW NBA CHAMPIONS NBA CHAMPIONS YEAH FUCK YOU TERRY PORTER LAAAAAAAKE SHOWWWWWWWWWW" |
Why are you so happy? Your season is already fucked. You will not make the playoffs probably.

Remember back when when you posted about committing suicide because the Lakers sucked ass? Well that was me the past 4 months minus being an overdramatic bitch.
Finally, the fatass has returned to the NBA thread, because his team beat the Clippers. Impressive.
40 point win

Thursday the 26th we beat you in Staples, and then on march 1st in PHX. Hey, at least you get to be on TV because the Suns play the Lakers
Meh, Porter had the right idea, but failed at getting the players to buy into it.
Nah Porter did not. You can't turn a team like that into a half court offense team.
The old system that D'Antoni set up was nice but was not going to win them a championship, so I liked the idea of gutting the team (sort of) and becoming a defensive minded team, but Like I said, I don't think any of the players bought into what Porter was selling.

Also, I feel bad for McGrady, he has fallen off so hard :nono:
T-mac is done. done done done.

Yup, Brown is a keeper :D
How is that humanly possible. What a block.
Lamar Odom, averaging 19/19 over the past 4 games.
Yeah, Brown is a keeper, which is why 2 teams have dumped him and that is his sole career highlight.
lol it's not like Brown is gonna get much playing time, but I'm sure he can contribute some solid minutes.
also, going from playing on a scrub team, to playing for a title contender will no doubt do a lot for his confidence.

First major deal has gone down.
Bulls get: Brad Miller and John Salmons, and Ike Diogu Kings get: Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons, Trailblazers get: Michael Ruffin |
Wow, Kings might actually win some games now.
Kings reloading yeah
Richard Jefferson being talked about with Cleveland (Bucks would get Szczerbiak's expiring deal) and Portland (for LaFrentz's expiring deal and Travis Outlaw). I also heard San Antonio, but I don't know who they would be dangling.
As far as I'm concerned, the Bucks can just pack up and relocate to Seattle or something. Once Redd went down, their fate in fringe playoff purgatory was sealed. and all hopes of getting a nice trade package for him next year was squashed. They're still too talented to completely tank, and not good enough to be much more than a sacrificial first round opponent for a top seed. They desperately need a new arena, but no sane person in the Milwaukee area would be willing to help finance a new arena through taxes in this economy when they're also stuck paying for Miller Park for like the next 20 years. Herb Kohl needs to sell the team before he dies, and hasn't gotten any solid offers because he won't listen to anyone who won't commit to keeping the team in Milwaukee. I lost most of my interest in the team years ago when they gave away Ray Allen for two months of Gary Payton. Ever since then I've pretty much been a man without a team. Going to school out on Long Island, I've kind of been attracted to the Knicks due to them being on TV all the time, but that's more because I'm attracted to the collective freak show they've been recently. I was a pretty big Bulls fan growing up (mostly due to Jordan and the fact that they were always on the NBA on NBC during the weekends, my only chance to watch live NBA games), and that interest is kinda coming up again with Derrick Rose being there. But for the most part I still have no real ties. Edit: Jesus, I'm the Noid of the sports forum. |
Good for the kings, they dump some hige contracts.
The BUlls lose flexibility for 2 years, with Hughes and Miller gobbling up huge contracts. But they are much better for a playoff push. Word has it Portland might be looking to swap Raef and Outlaw and Sergio for Vince Carter, which makes no sense to me. He doesnt fit with them and he would need to play SF. |
Carter to Portland makes perfect sense, gives them some more offensive bang for the play offs, and is another tough guard at the wing, to go with Roy. Most teams are lucky to have one good wing defender.
Should've gone to the Lakers/Warriors game tonight :-\
So apparently the Tyson Chandler deal has been rescinded, because the Thunder could not medically clear him.
HAHAHAHAHAHA |
142!
LAKE SHOW bitches
Josh Powell stole the show IMO, but another solid game from Odom.
Also, Chris Mihm was traded to Memphis for a 2013 2nd Round Draft pick. |
lol Mihm traded for nothing basically. Just trying to save up some money to resign Odom and Ariza at the end of the year.
Shaq to Cleveland rumors.. Please god no. |
LOL
If that happens, you better PRAY Bynum comes back |
Didn't happen. Trade deadline has passed.
Lakers still gonna win it all. |

Rim, tell me how my ass taste.
Suck it Celtics. Suck it. Jazz bitches.
Big news coming out of the NBA today.
Amare Stoudemaire had major eye surgery to repair a partially detached retina. He is expected to be out 8 weeks. Kevin Garnett has gone back to Boston to have an MRI done on his strained knee after straining it in last night's game to the Jazz. |
Woulda been funny had PHX shipped him out yesterday.
We got a barn burner going on in LA right now.
Horrible 4th quarter by the Lakers though. We're lucky to have even made it to overtime.
KG will have an MRI on Monday for his sprained knee and Amare might be done for the year.
KG out 3 weeks holla
Fuck KG, this will slow the Celtics, and depending how he recovers, could hurt them come playoffs. It happens when you build a team around three guys over 31 years old.
Time for D-Will to own CP3 again.
