woooahhh scsa shooting on the hulkster!

Mercenary 08-16-2014 02:20 PM

no footage... wtf

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 02:23 PM

Yeah, just renders. Lame.

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 02:31 PM

I'm watching on YouTube. Haven't had any issues.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIxNOxiV4i4

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 02:34 PM

NXT confirmed  Now hoping they reveal some NXT guys.

Dark-Slicer Diago 08-16-2014 02:42 PM

IGN was slow and freezing for me too, I switched to youtube and no issues.

drave 08-16-2014 02:45 PM

lol "Tyson Kidd.... you can see him alongside Natalya on Total Divas".

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 02:53 PM

So they said the reveal would be in 3 sections, and there are still a bunch of guys that would seem to be slam dunks to be in.

Either the 3rd section is massive or they're holding off Legends/NXT/etc. until another day. Or it's just a way smaller roster than expected.

XL 08-16-2014 02:53 PM

No surprises so far.

Mercenary 08-16-2014 03:03 PM

wtf roster is this snes one

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 03:04 PM

No Kane???

This can't be it. They have to be NXT guys or legends or something they've held out.

Maybe a 4th section and Renee said 3 by mistake.

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 03:12 PM

Kane
Mark Henry
Cody Rhodes
Bad News Barrett

Yeah...there are definitely more to come.

Dark-Slicer Diago 08-16-2014 03:16 PM

I think they'll be in the next batch for sure, Vito.

Dark-Slicer Diago 08-16-2014 03:17 PM

I've put the roster in a notepad atm, then I'll post after I've put them in alphabetical order.

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 03:28 PM

All of these people asking Sting when he'll wrestle again wouldn't have survived 1997 WCW.

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 03:37 PM

Yeah so 2K pretty much trolled everybody. They've already sent out a tweet inferring that there are more to be announced later.

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 03:43 PM

And WWE.com just posted a new list. Loads of people that weren't announced for some reason:

The WWE 2K15 roster includes:

AJ Lee
Alberto Del Rio
Bad News Barrett
Batista
Big E
Big Show
Booker T
Bray Wyatt
Brie Bella
Brock Lesnar
Cameron
Cesaro
Chris Jericho
CM Punk
Cody Rhodes
Curtis Axel
Damien Sandow
Daniel Bryan
Darren Young
Dean Ambrose
Dolph Ziggler
Erick Rowan
Fandango
Goldust
Hulk Hogan
Jack Swagger
Jey Uso
Jimmy Uso
John Cena
Justin Gabriel
Kane
Kevin Nash
Kofi Kingston
Luke Harper
Mark Henry
Naomi
Natalya
Nikki Bella
Randy Orton
Rey Mysterio
Ric Flair
Rob Van Dam
Roman Reigns
R-Truth
Ryback
Santino Marella
Seth Rollins
Shawn Michaels
Sheamus
Sting
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin
Summer Rae
Tamina
The Miz
The Rock
The Undertaker
Titus O'Neil
Triple H
Xavier Woods

Evil Vito 08-16-2014 04:04 PM

I still think there are more to come, really. The roster selection screen showed 92 spots and this roster is about 60. If nothing else I think they may reveal some NXT people later. They confirmed you start My Career mode on NXT. If they don't have any NXT people you'll pretty much just be wrestling Xavier Woods and Tyson Kidd for weeks on end.

If that's the final roster though, it shows 2K's statement that they have a later cutoff date is complete bollocks. No Paige or Rusev who literally debuted the night after the normal cutoff date.

whiteyford 08-16-2014 04:44 PM

DLC for them most likely.

Lock Jaw 08-16-2014 06:38 PM

I can't support a game that doesn't have Christian.

Emperor Smeat 08-16-2014 07:05 PM

http://i.minus.com/im8fx0PLg3enB.gif

Rock changed a lot ever since losing to Cena.

Cool King 08-16-2014 07:13 PM

I don't know how I feel about that roster.

It seems like a lot of names are missing and a few names there that personally, I don't think should be there.

Hulk Hogan
Kevin Nash
Ric Flair
Shawn Michaels
Steve Austin

Why are they in the game? Not counting Sting for obvious reasons, but those guys have not had a match on WWE TV/been on the active roster for years now. And to a lesser extent, Booker T and Rey Mysterio.

Instead of those guys, we could have had Christian, Heath Slater, Sin Cara, Zack Ryder, Zeb Colter or Paul Heyman and Los Matadores. They're the first names that come into my head.

Fignuts 08-16-2014 10:46 PM

I'll give you Nash, but I think for the majority of people playing the game, having as many current performers isn't as important as having people who they would enjoy playing.

Most people will take Austin over Slater any day, even if Slater is more relevant.

Fignuts 08-16-2014 11:09 PM

No entrance videos or any footage at all, just render reveals and not even the full roster.

Considering how much this event was hyped, this has to be considered a letdown. And as a whole this has been one of the most poorly marketed games I've ever seen. Why, I don't know, because what little we've seen so far has all been great.

road doggy dogg 08-17-2014 03:52 AM

no WWE Paige = no buy

Fignuts 08-17-2014 04:09 AM

Paige will definitely make it.

When did Tamina turn into Lord Vigo from Ghostbusters 2?

You're always going to get Rock & Austin, and eventually Triple H, blame the Attitude era, but to the casual fan all the guys you listed are more recognizable than half the current roster. And they may as well milk the Legends contracts even if it's the same Legends pretty much year in year out.

Evil Vito 08-17-2014 10:34 AM

Heath Slater is the one "current roster" guy I'm fussed about. Regardless of when the cutoff was, he's been on TV seemingly every week since like 2012. His exclusion leads me to believe that 3MB wouldn't have made the cut even if they were still around, which is shocking considering some of the guys that did make it.

I'll be very bummed if there's no Rusev, Bo Dallas, etc. in the main game as well (not counting DLC). I would have pegged those guys for DLC initially but 2K outwardly stating that they had a later cutoff this year led me to think people who debuted soon after WM would make it in.

The other current guys are no great loss. I love Christian but he's practically retired it seems. Zack Ryder and Sin Cara have done nothing. I would have liked Los Matadores to beef up the tag division but realistically I don't know how much I would have used them.

Booker T, Ric Flair, and Kevin Nash were on the WWE.com list but not on the WWE 2K15 website, so I'm assuming there is going to be a proper legends reveal later. Vince will be in, he always is. Edge getting in wouldn't shock me either, he's one of only about 4 people left to be in every game so far. Oh and there is going to be a retro version of Triple H, his render was already shown.

I've never liked Legends being in these games and have said I could happily do without them, but at this point I've accepted that it's never going to happen.

Ditto.

I've never really played as the Legends in past games, but when I do, I always face other Legends.

I really don't care about them as I've never really wanted to play a match and see Yokozuna vs Jack Swagger or Jimmy Snuka vs Brock Lesnar or whatever. They just seem pretty pointless to me and their slots could have went to the guys who are actually on the active roster.

Another thing I've never liked, but what I probably dislike more than Legends, is older versions of a wrestler getting their own slot. It's slowly grown and grown to a point now where it's "normal" to have a massive chunk of the games roster, be filled with older versions of wrestlers.

HCTP: Undertaker & Old School Undertaker
SvR: Kane & Masked Kane - Undertaker & Old School Undertaker
SvR06: Hogan 80's & Hollywood Hogan & Hulk Hogan
SvR07: Mick Foley & Cactus Jack & Dude Love & Mankind
WWE '12: Christian & Christian (Retro) - Edge & Edge (Retro) - Kane & Kane (Retro)
WWE '13: Big Show & Paul Wight - Bradshaw & JBL - Cactus Jack & Dude Love & Mankind - Chris Jericho & Chris Jericho '99 - Christian & Christian '99 - Edge & Edge '99 - Hunter Hearst Helmsley & Triple H & Triple H '99 - John Cena & John Cena '04 - Kane & Kane '97-'99 - Lita & Lita '00 - Mark Henry & Mark Henry '98 - The Rock & The Rock '98-'99 - Undertaker & Undertaker '97-'98
2K14: Big Show & Big Show (Retro) & The Giant - Brock Lesnar & Brock Lesnar (Retro) - Chris Jericho & Chris Jericho (Retro) - Hollywood Hulk Hogan & Hulk Hogan - John Cena & John Cena (Retro) - Kane & Kane (Retro) - Kevin Nash & Kevin Nash (nWo) - Macho Man (nWo) & Macho Man Randy Savage - Ric Flair & Ric Flair (Retro) - Scott Hall & Scott Hall (nWo) - Shawn Michaels & Shawn Michaels (Retro) - The Rock & The Rock (Retro) - Triple H & Triple H (Retro) - Undertaker & Undertaker (ABA) & Undertaker (Retro)

I can see why there were so many for WWE '13, as it was based around The Attitude Era. But with so many doubles, alongside guys like Val Venis, X-Pac, Too Cool and so on, why didn't THQ just make a game based solely on The Attitude Era, with no current guys on the roster? Sort of like a "WWF Attitude 2" or "WWF No Mercy 2", so to speak. That probably would have sold quite well, and they could have also released WWE '13 that would feature the current guys.

As for 2K14, a game which I've barely touched, I just want to point out that the entire roster (including DLC), consists of more "old" wrestlers, than current wrestlers. To me, that's pretty bad.

I just don't get their infatuation with including former talent in the latest games, when we could finally have a game that features every single person that's on the current roster and some from NXT. :-\

James Steele 08-17-2014 12:18 PM

I like having the legends.

whiteyford 08-17-2014 12:23 PM

I get the point with some of them, differing movesets/wildly different appearances, but for the most part they shouldn't be getting their own slot for each version just because one has a ponytail and the other version doesn't. I'd rather they varied the Legends they used if anything, I don't care about Jimmy Snuka give me someone like Stevie Richards or Raven, who can have as many character slots as he likes, instead. I don't care about losing job guys like Ryder though.

Razzamajazz 08-17-2014 12:25 PM

I don't mind the legends so much, except for them having multiple characters for the different versions. It fucks up my universe mode when I want one of them to be active in it. They could just have the different clothing or music or whatever as alternates instead of a different character slot.

Cool King 08-17-2014 12:26 PM

Now, if they had to include older guys, I'd be all up for seeing guys like Richards or Raven appearing in games.

whiteyford 08-17-2014 12:40 PM

Charge 89 pence/cent a superstar and flood the store with random midcarders and variants, I'd buy Max Moon and the new Midnight Express plus Jim Cornette as the NPC manager, they'd make a killing signing up guys that work the indys now.

cnoslim 08-17-2014 01:23 PM

No road dogg and billy gunn -- they were active up til wrestlemania wasn't they?

XL 08-17-2014 01:55 PM

Not so cut up about Legends vs. current roster as long as there are enough "new" guys/first appearances in the games.

This time we have Bray, Harper and Rowan, Woods, and Sting. That's not a whole lot. Whilst having Austin, Rock, Hogan is great, it's not new.

Purgatory 08-17-2014 01:56 PM

I could do without the legends if it means having the current roster included. I didn't really futze about too much with the Create A Story either because my 360 doesn't support USB keyboard use. Hopefully the Xbox One version supports this.
