Who are the mods around here? I need to add a poll to my thread before the buzz wears off.

CSL 12-14-2008 10:57 PM

Meh. Kind of anti-climatic in the end. Dunno if that's just me. I can't help but be sure it's gonna be short reign. Nice match though, maybe I was hoping too much Christian might show

KingofOldSchool 12-14-2008 10:58 PM

Looks like I don't have to watch Smackdown for a while.

Plus, maybe WWE wants to see if Jeff can handle this kind of spotlight without imploding before giving him a WrestleMania Moment. Maybe this is a trial run to see if he can go three months on top without getting suspended again.

Honestly, lay off the guy. Yeah shit's happened, but past is past. If he fucks up then he fucks up again and he is gone and I'll eat my words. However, enjoy this moment, the pure shock value of it, and deal

CSL 12-14-2008 10:58 PM

Hey I have a new green blippy thing. Thank you :D

Do you really need the poll? I think it's a wash.

Pardeep 619 12-14-2008 10:59 PM

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!! Fucking love it right now!! Don't screw up Jeff, please don't screw up

Lux 12-14-2008 11:01 PM

I knew he could do it and I never doubted him.

Me, Loose Cannon and WWKD?. You can edit it in, tho. I ain't doing shit.

Johnny Vegas 12-14-2008 11:02 PM

I bet you that the match at WrestleMania is going to be Edge v Hardy in a Ladder/TLC match for the WWE championship.

Mercury Bullet 12-14-2008 11:02 PM

I hope he doesn't screw up, but I'm expecting the worst. If he gets busted again I think its walking papers too, not a suspension.

McLegend 12-14-2008 11:03 PM

Pretty cool.

Lux 12-14-2008 11:04 PM

I have faith in Jeff's ability to know that if he does he is out.

He'll lose the title eventually but I predict he will regain it a few times before his carrer ends.

Rob 12-14-2008 11:10 PM

They should have waited til Mania but I'm glad Jeff got the title anyway. Glad I stayed up to see it too. He is probably the last guy left that I would really want to see as a world champion.

Splaya 12-14-2008 11:18 PM

Also, I think it was very awesome how the announcers said nothing while Hardy was walking around

Afterlife 12-14-2008 11:21 PM

That was a good main event.

Jeritron 12-14-2008 11:24 PM

Well that completes the smark wishlist for this year. Punk, Jericho, Hardy

Jeritron 12-14-2008 11:25 PM

If Christian shows up before the year ends everyones had a good year

thedamndest 12-14-2008 11:28 PM

Punk never held the title.

thedamndest 12-14-2008 11:28 PM

He is just now feuding for the IC title.

Juan 12-14-2008 11:28 PM

lol word

I don't really want to get into this whole Hardy thing, but think of all the shit Ric Flair pulled in his day. Plus I don't recall Hardy beating his wife ala Austin.

Sure he's fucked up, but there are some top tier former and current guys who I'm sure have done just as much, if not more over their time.

Just my 2c

 ya thedy

RGWhat316 12-14-2008 11:36 PM

I am pretty well in shock. I was at a Buffalo Wild Wings for it, and didn't really expect it. I think it's pretty cool, just have to wait and see how long its gonna last. But other than that, none of my favorites won tonight. Orton, Jericho, and Edge all jobbed.

thedamndest 12-14-2008 11:37 PM

You don't make it to the top without getting into, let alone as the owner of the company.

I will say though, that Hardy standing on that set at the end was a little morbid, what with his house just burned down and all.

El Fangel 12-14-2008 11:48 PM

Holy shit, WWE just redeemed every fucking thing they did over the last year in my mind.

Somewhere Russo had the same thought.

I wouldn't go THAT far, but this is awesome.

Rob 12-14-2008 11:50 PM

You're too easily pleased then dude.

Theo Dious 12-14-2008 11:50 PM

And I say this every time a new champ is crowned, but I hope this leads to the retirement of the (non spinning) spinner belt.

Jeritron 12-14-2008 11:51 PM

I don't even know what they did in the past year that was so bad. It wasn't the best year in wrestling history, but it was a big improvement on the past 4 or 5 years.

Jeritron 12-14-2008 11:53 PM

That's with full acknowlegement to the fact that there was plenty of shit booking and head-scratchers to speak of.
I just felt the amount of mark out moments, and the overall freshness and change that occured this year was greater than the very trite string of years before it.
It's a good thing when the promotion and respective brands feel different than they were at years beginning.

2008>>>>>2005-07

Still, it has a long way to go before being > the years before those.

Yeah, this doesn't pay up for Punk's reign, McMahon Death Angle 2, Cena's assed up surprise Rumble win, or the continuing employment of Mark Henry.

Splaya 12-14-2008 11:55 PM

Raw is no different. Cena is still out there burying people.

Who'd have thunk, at least in my eyes, that SD is the #1 promotion, based on depth and quality

Nothing makes up for squatting on the greatest WWE tradition ever IMO (aka the Rumble, and decent buildup thereof)

It made sense, seeing as it was "Armageddon"
