Dickey & Young on the mound for Game 4, has the potential to be a 17-15 game with those potential gas cans.....

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-20-2015 07:03 PM

They peaked.

Matt Harvey's agent Scott Boras has secured an insurance policy for his client that would protect the New York Mets pitcher if he suffers any injury that results in a loss of value for his next contract, or in the case of a career-ending injury, a source confirmed to ESPN.
Happened right around the end of the season when Boras and Harvey went public about wanting an innings cap regardless of the Mets title aspirations. Might have been a bit prophetic since Harvey is dealing with arm soreness at the moment.

Will be 70 with wind blowing out 9 MPH toward left. Conditions favor the Cubs and their home run ways. No excuses about it being cold.

Need at least one win so I can get the money for my game 5 tickets.

OssMan 10-20-2015 08:08 PM

Mets will win WS

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 08:26 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Well...this is gonna be a high scoring game if that Schwarber HR was any indication. Didn't even make good contact and it went out opposite field to left.</font>

Frank Drebin 10-20-2015 08:35 PM

Cubs can't drive runners in from scoring position. Thats been their problem. Relying too much on the home run.

Frank Drebin 10-20-2015 08:45 PM

I think I just saw Hannibal Burress in the crowd.

Bad News Gertner 10-20-2015 08:55 PM

Hahaha wow

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 08:56 PM

<font color=goldenrod>If there's one thing Terry Collins does that pisses me off above all else, it's that with a man on first, 1 out, and the pitcher up he ALWAYS takes the bunt off after 2 strikes. And it nearly always results in a GIDP. Been happening all year.

I don't understand it. If you're gonna bunt, just commit to it. I sure as hell would have rather had deGrom strike out trying to bunt and bring Granderson up in this wind with 2 men on than leading off the next inning.</font>

Frank Drebin 10-20-2015 09:01 PM

Murphy is on the juice.

Frank Drebin 10-20-2015 09:02 PM

You know he's gonna get a 3/30 mil deal from someone and suck fn balls after this.

I think KC just did their homework. They are hitting off jays pitching with a disturbing level of clairvoyance.

Series ain't over yet. Of Estrada pulls a rabbit out of hos hat who knows what can happen.

<font color=goldenrod>Before the playoffs started most of the projections I saw on Murphy were around 3/30 anyway. He made $8 million this year so it's a reasonable bump in annual salary given his numbers.

Wouldn't shock me if a team went to 4 or 5 now at an even higher AAV.

Supposedly the Mets have zero interest in bringing him back regardless of his postseason heroics and no matter what he does going forward. He doesn't get on base all that much, which goes against Alderson's philosophy. He's also mostly terrible defensively even though he can play at 3 spots.</font>

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 09:37 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Mets pitching has carried them in this postseason, but the bats are going to need to shoulder the load in these games in Wrigley. Simple as that.</font>

Frank Drebin 10-20-2015 09:55 PM

for fucks sake

OssMan 10-20-2015 09:56 PM

Those are the rules kids. Cubs have been on the other end of that plenty of times as well.

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 10:01 PM

<font color=goldenrod>hopefully deGrom can respond with a shutout inning. that feels like the kind of thing that could swing the momentum of the game tho. if the Cubs win this by a run it'll always be known as "The Ivy Game"</font>

Frank Drebin 10-20-2015 10:02 PM

Nah....happens more often than you think. It'l just be game 3.

road doggy dogg 10-20-2015 10:02 PM

Ground rule doubles are such a bitch move. Who even likes ivy

Lol and degrom up right after. Brutal.

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 10:09 PM

<font color=goldenrod>I'm fine with the ivy itself...I just think it's dumb that the umps can't have any discretion on where to place the runners aside from the batter. There's no chance the runner doesn't score on that play even if the wall was a standard padded wall. Zero.</font>

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 10:39 PM

<font color=goldenrod>reaaaaaally don't think I agree with not sending deGrom out to at least start the 8th</font>

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 11:10 PM

<font color=goldenrod>3-0. Holy fuck.</font>

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-20-2015 11:32 PM

Looks like on BTTF day the Cubbies will re-write history by getting swept.

Frank Drebin 10-20-2015 11:35 PM

Obvs Marty McFly knowing that info caused a ripple in the space time continuum causing this to happen.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-20-2015 11:45 PM

Erased from existence.

Evil Vito 10-20-2015 11:46 PM

<font color=goldenrod>I could still easily see this series ending in NY tbh. I like Steven Matz a lot but he's made a grand total of 7 big league starts and will be pitching on an unusually long 7 days rest tomorrow. It's a tough spot for him.

Then you have Lester on Thursday and if it heads back to NY, Arrieta on Saturday. You know the NY media will be anxious to dust off the 2004 Yankees stories if this series gets pushed to at least 6.</font>

BigDaddyCool 10-21-2015 12:12 AM

The Blue Jay should just give up. The Royals won't be stopped.
