So I'm looking for some recommendations for something new to read.

A bit of background here...

I read comics as a kid. Loved them. Then for whatever reason I just sort of stopped. I think the last big thing I read as a kid was the Infinity Gauntlet shit. Dopplegangers, etc.

As an 'adult' I've read a few things that I thoroughly have enjoyed. 100 Bullets, Watchmen, Civil War (meh), World War Hulk (meh), but nothing consistent. The Walking Dead books were good too.

Fast forward to today. I recently have gone on something of a reading binge because of the Marvel app on my ipad. They gave away some free teaser issues, and in turn I burned through Runaways (loved it, especially the first run) and just caught up with AvX. So I'm looking for something else to read, and I figure I'd ask you guys for some ideas.

Try Preacher.

Honestly, I only read Marvel as a kid and thought I couldn't go through with anything else, but this comic blew my mind. Read it on the PC, cause you can't get it here.

(I just started the Daredevil 2011 run and is up to the 18th issue coming out this week...so far so good but I am too new to it to call it an official recommendation)

Just so I understand this, the book falls outside of the normal 'marvel timeline', correct? Because if not, that's a shit load of characters they're going to kill off.

I don't think it does.

I'm sure X-23 will be the main character, and one of the top competitors, but she's not quite wolverine. Hell, Hazmat could probably slow her down quite a bit, if not outright killing her.

Also, I thought darkhawk was an adult. And a cosmic assassin, or at least rebelled against his fellow cosmic assassins.

I don't really know anything about it.... but... is it confirmed that they are going to be killing each other? I mean, you can have a series have a cover that is an "homage" to Battle Royale without meaning that the series is actually about them killing each other.

Everything I've read is that Arcade (I believe) brings them all to an island where they must fight or die, last man standing sort of deal.

Yeah, but I doubt the body count will be as high as BR. 3 or 4 characters that no one will give a shit about, will die, and the rest will figure out a way off the island.
