Who was the 1st round pick the year they took him?

just looked, didn't have a 1st rounder that year.. it was a pick that went to the NYJ for Belicheck, the Pats took Klemm in round #2..

Wasn't he the OL that threw coffee on his agent or something like that and soon after the pats cut him...

Fact, Merriman will beat Matt Light once or twice and do his stupid dance when he did nothing special and everyone will talk how great he is and miss that Light handeld him most the game. That's the thing with LT in the NFL, you never hear about the good, only that 1 miss that gives up a sack.

I really can't stand Merriman... do the dance on 3rd and 4 when you sack the QB and force a punt, but he dances like and idiot when he hasn't done crap.

I don't see why the NFL doesn't flag him when they do people for TD celebrations.

Just read through that article, he had 18 tackles in the championship game? Jesus christ. I was hoping he would fall to the Patriots at 7 (was doubtful) but oh well. Patriots are prob gonna trade anyway

I'd assume trade, if not Belicheck has never gone for a young LB, he likes guys with their feet wet because he runs "complex systems"

Yeah, I just hope if the Pats are up they pull all the key starters... hate to see someone get injured on a cheap play.

See, I was figuring your first post here would either be if the Pats lost saying they're no better then the Colts or after the Pats win the superbowl calling them cheaters and all the super bowl rings are tainted.

National reports are saying some in Indy don't want Dungy back? Is that really true? I mean, he has 1 SB win and multiple late post season apperances, and it's not like Marty Ball who choked every time... Give Dungy some respect.

you mean winning the final game of the year? both of those years they won their last game and this year they lost it and have their best postseason since 2000.

Gonzo 01-15-2008 04:46 PM

The past two years preceding this year they fell apart in the 2nd half of the season, and just ended up not being a playoff caliber team by the time the playoffs rolled around. This year, they just seem to have a better attitude towards everything. We aren't shooting ourselves in the foot right now, and thats why we're succeeding.

National reports say Belichek is considering leaving for Atlanta's coaching job.

See how that works.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-15-2008 04:58 PM

Yo whens that 10 minute feature on Hunter Smith gonna air?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-15-2008 06:02 PM

I was just reading the Boston Herald, they making it seem like the Chargers have no chance. I dunno, they did just beat Indy with their back up QB and RB playing for good portions of the game. Do I think the Patriots are going to win? Yeah, but I don't think they are going to smash them like they did in Week 2.

Also, it listed the odds for each team left to win the Superbowl at the start of the season, Green Bay was 65-1

So, you're saying it's false and everyone in Indy wants Dungy back and no one is upset that he has teams that tend to get upset in the playoffs?

I don't live there, you do, that's why I'm asking you.

I mean, I could see this happening in a few years if it keeps up, but 1yr removed from a super bowl doesn't make sense.

You're talking out of your ass. There are no reports of such thing. So please do everyone a favor and shut the fuck up.

Thank fuck someone else noticed this. I fucking HATE when he does that shit when it means fuck all, what a dickhead. I would greatly enjoy if Matt Light did a dance in front of him every time he kept him off of Brady. Or just for any Patriots player to do it like the time T.O did Ray Lewis' gay chicken dance.

Well any player except Rodney Harrison, he's gay.

of course, whenever it's anything you don't like about your colts it's something being made up...

It was talked about on national shows, it didn't sound right to me hence I asked you if it was true and what the general feeling was... but I guess you're still pissy about the Colts crushing your back to back dreams.

you should be used to disapointment in your football life by now.

Actually, Ellis Hobbs did the same dance on the Charges logo and midfield after the playoff win which is what caused Rivers to call me "the sorriest corner in the league", the Patriots reaction however was atributed to payback from when the Charges destoryed the Patriots in Foxboro earlier that year, there were reports some Charges players were yelling insults into the patriots locker-room after the game and went "over board" celebrating a regular season win.

either way, should be a decent game... honestly, I'd rather face a banged up LT then a healthy/fresh Turner.

Also, on Rivers claiming he and LT wanted to go back in, there are reports that there was an argument on the sideline between LT and Rivers because LT wanted to go in and they wouldn't let him, Rivers was given the green light but refused because he said he "couldn't go"...

not sure how much of it is true, don't really care.

Skippord 01-16-2008 01:18 AM

God I hate Phillip Rivers

FearedSanctity 01-16-2008 03:15 AM

So apparently Denver's offensive coordinator/assistant head coach Mike Heimerdinger head coach is the favorite to become Tennessee's new offensive coordinator, meanwhile their former OC Norm Chow is the likely favorite to replace Heimerdinger

I'm ok with it tbh

I know this is a few days old, but still funny... some players really need a schooling in media relations...

Chargers defensive lineman Igor Olshansky

Who? New England?" Olshansky said. "Seriously, I mean, they're more worried than we are, I promise you. Believe me. They know what's up."

Maybe this guy can figure out how to get the ball into the end zone although the Titan's weren't exactly a scoring machine so I doubt it will amount to much. Maybe he can figure out the red zone since it seemed like a foreign land to Heimerdinger.

on a possible negative note...

Some woman in Miami has taken out a restraining/protection order on Moss.

Some florida paper had the story, then took it down and now put it up again... Moss spoke to the press, going to hear the audio soon...

5bucks she's like the cousin of Mercury Morris trying to screw with the pats...

nah, probably not... but wanna hear the details first..

VonErichLives 01-16-2008 11:37 AM

Moss's statement (short ver).

He's never attacked any woman in his life.

This is a friend of his who had an accident and injured herself and contacted her Lawyer and said if he didn't pay her they were going to the press before the AFC Championship.

He went on to say he doesn't know the full story of what he's being charged with, (although nothing has been filed for charges against him) and that his teammates know less then he does about it so to please leave them alone.

But he wanted to make clear he has never hurt a woman.

what really happened no idea... good thing the superbowl isn't in Miami :)

VonErichLives 01-16-2008 11:54 AM

friend of mine in SD sent me this...

Quote:

Four football fans; a Colts fan, a Seahawks fan, a Chargers
fan, and a Patriots fan are climbing a mountain and arguing about who loves his team more.

The Indianapolis fan insists he is the most loyal. 'This is
for the Colts!' he yells, and jumps off the side of the mountain.

Not to be outdone, the Seattle fan shouts, 'This is for the
Seahawks!' and throws himself off the mountain.

The San Diego fan is next to profess his love for his team.
He yells, 'This is for everyone!' and pushes the Patriot fan off the
mountain.

Titans don't exactly have great players on the offence though. If that happens Jay Cutler should be the happiest person in Denver as it should help him out tremendously.

Yah... it works with each team. All of them in the NFL. Even CFL teams. And if you really wanted to be creative and cool and super duper funny, you could mix in NBA, MLB and NHL teams. Whoa right?

Problem with that is, Shanahan calls the offensive plays

Ninti the Mad 01-16-2008 01:54 PM

I have newfound respect for Brady for sticking up for Romo.

:y:

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-16-2008 01:55 PM

lol Merriman "didn't know" Jabar Gaffney's name either...these guys are idiots eh? Although I did have a dream that the Chargers were up 28-7 at halftime and I've never had a professional sports dream before, well, at least one that I could remember

Y2Ant 01-16-2008 02:17 PM

lol

I hope Ellis Hobbs picks off Rivers for 5 TDs then.

LIGHTS OUT

Y2Ant 01-16-2008 02:18 PM

Also I would like Merriman to pick off Brady, then get hit by like Wes Welker or someone and fumble, and have it result in a TD. That would make my day.

Really? Wow, never realised that...

you're just super grumpy you got beat in "your house", just be happy you lost a slugfest with the charges rather then getting stomped in New England.

CTS - That is why sites like youtube need to be stopped...

my fav was "krafts mayo, I just made that up" I find what funny because of his money and owning the team people assume he's some relation to the "Kraft Foods"

also, Kyle Brady did have one of his two TD's of the season against Dallas, so maybe she knows what's she talking about...
