wtf Koko doesn't look older than 30
|
He looked a lot older than thirty when I watched it.

How much do you think they were getting paid exactly?
Of course he wanted to kick his head in. |
looks like no new one tonight bunch of reruns till 9 then they are playing some old movie
|
Watched the Matt Borne and JYD episodes. Both were good. There just isn't enough meat on the bone though.
Should have done a Chris Adams episode! |
Koko sounds and reminds me of Gary Coleman
|
tonight is bret hart heavy.
|
Was the Adonis one tonight?
|

|
Blah. That sucks. I love Adrian Adonis.
|
bret made it about bret

And Vince?
|
I dunno why, but I had this thing in my head where I hear Bret call Goldberg "William" all pissed off like.
"Thing were good until WILL-YUM decided to boot me in the head eh" |
Frankly, if Bret didn't shoehorn in a spiteful Goldberg anecdote, was he really even officially in the episode?
|
He should just be an honorary Hart family member at this stage, really.
|
Nah. Bret's the man. Only dumb Americans (and Gertner, who's from Windsor, which means you're really from nowhere) don't get him. Oh, and if you're Canadian (or from another country like the UK) and don't get Bret, you're also dumb.

Shane McMahon throws better punches than that.
|
His punch kind of look like girls punches. Very limp wristed downward motion.
Shawn Michaels has way better punches |
Exactly. Those are the same punches that every white girl fighting in a worldstar video uses.
|
If you ask Vince I bet he’d say Bret throws a pretty good punch.
|
Bret connected though. Terrible working punch there.
|
Best punches in the business.

That is the exact opposite of what happened. Bret Hart did better than 90% of the sources they use on DSOTR specifically because he talked entirely about the subject at hand and didn’t pull any of that weird “I knew something strange was a-brewin” that everyone else does. Even Adonis’ wife was trying to be more interesting and mysterious with her claims about Adonis doing things he never did right before he died. I bet he did them all of the time and she’s just a boring bitch who took thirty five years to find a way to make the man’s death about her. It was a better episode actually, still not very dark or in-line with the previous seasons but more interesting than JYD and Matt Borne. |
Who’s fat daughter was it that made crazy claims about a girlfriend od’ing her dad… was that Doink?
|
My favourite ep so far (out of all the seasons) was Johnny K9/Bruiser Bedlam. My parents live in Hamilton. so there was that extra bit of investment. Plus, there was something very "dramaturgic" about that guy.

There are a lot of fruity family members in the show, but the conspiracy theories are secondary to body shape for me. The ex wives are almost always hags by now, especially Pillman’s. Most of them hooked up with a pill-man at some point anyway.
I remember Warrior’s ex wife being pretty hot for an old broad with fake tits but I’m a deeply damaged man. |
Watching the Adonis Dark Side. Holy shit, Danny Spivey! Awesome episode
|
Yeah that Spivey story was great, never heard that one before.
|
I've heard the Spivey story before from George Steele. He said that Adonis's head swelled up the size of a balloon after the fight
|
ready for the butcher
|
grew up like junkyard having to piss in a can
|
that was a good one

I just caught this one last night. One thing that kept sticking out to me was how much Spivey and Steve Austin looked alike with the blond hair. Holy fucking SHIT at that uppercut though. Fucked up that man's life. |
Spivey used to be a collector for the mob. He's not one to fuck with.
|
cornett talks about the abdul the butcher ep it is funny as hell
|
I’m guessing he sides with the elderly virus spreader and condemns Hannibal in a way that makes you wonder if Corny is one of those AIDS kink people. Admittedly Hannibal does suck just as much ass as Abdullah but in a different way.
It was a pretty lame episode, just lots of talking about a guy who had gross tits and no athletic ability. This season has been very poor in comparison to the others. |
There's only SO much you can talk about he Darkside of Wrestling (and anything, really) before the wrong eyebrows are raised, and suddenly it's hard to talk about anything of substance.
The Adonis episode was pretty interesting. Erickman's summation that Bret made it about himself was fucking ridiculous. Dude must really hate Bret. |
That would be fair enough if this show didn’t make its reputation by shining light on the boldest of accusations every season until now. I mean Abdullah says “I don’t want to talk about it” and there goes any and all discussion about the man spreading a blood disease in the most negligent way possible.
They’ve openly trashed so many careers by now that to pull the reins before they trampled Abdullah was pretty shocking. Why do an Abdullah episode at all if they aren’t even going to talk to him about it? Terrible episode, terrible season. |
Hannibal so funny. What a human. Freak. Partied with him and Honky Tonk Man til 6am in their hotel room. After he beat up some kid at the bar before and chased down my buddies car like the terminator when they took his cheese. Long story. T1000.
|
i hope bam bams ep will be good, 2 thirds of the triad has been on darkside of the ring
|
I'm gonna watch the Bam Bam one more as a career retrospective/bio than as a Darkside Of The Ring. Will probably be more enjoyable that way.
|
taz and ddp is doing a good job on this one
|
That was an interesting ep. Like usual, I feel like they glossed over a fuckload, but the old footage was great.
|
bash at the beach should be good hard to gloss over. we will get easy e vs russo
|
And it will suck because of those two relentless blowhards.
|
I heard the Bam Bam episode was really good

TBH Spilly, there is nothing appealing about Hannibal. He comes across as an enormous piece of shit.
It is kind of funny that you partied with that psychopath Honky Tonk Man. That's something that I think we'd all want to do. |
Brought him to my buddies house to grab booze late night. So funny when he walked out to Honky Tonk Man on his front lawn at 2am.
|
Abby episode was pretty bad. Should have done Chris Adams instead
|
get the f%%k you russo chants ready for tonight
|
lance storm is the star of tonight's ep
|
BATB episode was awesome lol

Why was Bash at the Beach even a topic for this show? What exactly was "dark" about it? Did we really need to shine a spotlight on three of the biggest piles of fuck in the business, all of whom have a tenuous relationship with reality as it is?
|
I like how you say that about far and away the best episode of this series.
I enjoyed that so much more than every bio they have done this time around, at least this was a legitimate “what the fuck just happened” moment in wrestling history. Eric Bischoff was at his malevolent best, somehow managing to look down his nose at everybody despite that nose being crammed up Hulk’s ass. Glorious. I’m really starting to worry that Vince Russo may be a bit of a fall guy here, he seems to be so annoying that everybody immediately accepts him as the source of any fault but all fingers pointed towards Hogan and The Bisch screwing this particular pooch. I love grown men bitching like women, but I really really love old men going on diatribes that their memories cannot even be trusted to correctly remember. That’s what rasslin’ is all about now. |

I only have a cursory knowledge of Chris Adams, but after getting a bit more into the history of World Class thanks to the Lapsed Fan’s journey on it, I have to agree with Gertner that Adams is a no-brainer. Like, at least 3 of the women he shacked up with are dead. And he turned himself in for manslaughter at some point. And how it all ends and who ends up pulling the trigger. |
Quote:
He also headbutted the co-pilot of an airplane he was on. And then there's the way he died. HOW DO THEY FUCKING GRAHAMS OR ABBY GET AN EPISODE AND NOT ADAMS!!!! GAH! |
Quote:
|
They probably can’t do Chris Adams because Stone Cold will sue them the moment his ex wife says they both hit her
|
Jannetty was a bleak episode…
That guy has not got long left to live. |
I've thought the same about Jake Roberts and Ric Flair. Lol Jannetty will probably end up outliving HBK
|
I thought the Marty episode was sort of eh. I didn't gain any meaningful insight into him. He's an interesting guy and a total fkn weirdo. but beyond that it was kind of boring.

It would've been something if they had managed to actually get Shawn Michaels as a talking head for the episode.
|
The man has open wounds that look like foot vaginas
|
The John Tenta one was good, although it seemed like they were just going out of their way to make the WWE the villain
|
Tenta’s wife is a fucking nutter. Random singing, reading out things that are clearly not written in love notes… weird broad.
Nothing dark about Tenta. |
Earl “My twin brother just died but I miss John Tenta more” Hebner
|
The best part was seeing Haku piss himself laughing at The Shockmaster
|
That was hysterical.
"Buff and the Bagwell's" episode this week. |
Was not expecting the Bagwell episode to be good, but man was it good. Lots of stuff I had totally forgotten about.
Terry Gordy next week |
I have to catch this, Wrestling docs are the only form of wrestling me and the Mrs's get into.
Didn't know a thing about the Von Erichs until Iron Claw. (Yes I know that's not a doc) |
I've still gotta check that out.
|
The Buff Bagwell episode was one of the best that they have done for ages. No wonder he grew up to be such a spastic, his weirdo hillbilly millionaire folks gave him no chance at all.
The Terry Gordy episode was a good mixture of past glory followed by tragedy. I had never seen any clips of that shoot interview post OD but damn, he was just like the smack heads I used to deal with in the mall. There’s only so much humanity and personality left after repeated OD’s and prolonged heavy drug use. Even once they sober up and clean up they are shells of their former selves and frankly society doesn’t want or need them. I think Gordy probably did himself in on purpose, he’d have known he wasn’t getting back to normal. |
I didn't realize Gordy died in 2001. I thought it was mid 90s. Like right after his ECW run.
Decent episode Brutus Beefcake is right under Vince Russo on my list of "voices that immediately make my angry" I find Beefcake so obnoxious. Amazing episode though. His wife is something else. I always thought the falling out between Hogan and Beefcake was that Beefcake stole a bunch of jewelry from Hogan. |
Beefcake episode was top notch and it made me like his attitude. I’ve heard all about the face collapse before and it nearly made me throw up so seeing the x-ray was great.
I looked up his wife immediately afterwards and found a clip of Greg Valentine calling her a cunt and laughing. Greg Valentine may look an old woman I know called Marion but he is a great interview. |
Fuck gotta watch this tonight.
|
Super hilarious episode (Bagwell).
|
Harley Race this week
|
Harley was ok, Chris Colt was good, Chris Adams was excellent.
Good season so far. |
Chris Adams was awesome.
|
The Chris Adams episode was everything I had hoped for.
Been wanting this episode since it started Chris Colt episode was awesome Harley Race episode was eh. |
I need to catch up on the episodes but there not easily available in the UK, last series I was relying on finding them uploaded onto youtube to watch.

You’re welcome |
Liked Sherri’s.
|
What the fuck is up with Sherri’s boy?
The pictures do not match the reality. You can’t do an episode like that and include the exsanguinated son without explanation. |
Halfway through the Sandman and I have Black Saturday left.
The second half of the season is the best run of shows they've done. |
Sandman was pretty standard and Black Saturday was sorely missing a bunch of angry old men.
Good season, just not very dark really. |
loved the end of black saturday vince busted an forced out of wwe. now dark side is working with wwe they can do vince stories
|
Show me the smoking gun
|
The Sandman episode was alright.
I have Black Saturday left |
Black Saturday was alright. Nothing that I haven't heard before.
Lots of "Vince killed the Territories" nonsense. |
Chris Adams and Chris Colt were both good episodes.
The most shocking thing in the whole season was the state that Sherri’s son has gotten himself into since her death. |
