Eventually, have Orton give in, offering to give Shane a match, but if Shane loses, Stephanie is gone from raw. Steph, confident in Shane, especially since he's been kicking Orton's ass, okays the match.

No Way Out, Shane lays down, Orton wins, they reveal it was all a plan to set up Steph and get rid of her. Shane is part of the Legacy, and has soul control of Raw as Vince is injured, and Steph is gone.

That would be great! Odds of it happening, probably not good.

This had so much steam and in a split second its all gone by Shane killing off the most dominant force in the Rumble the night prior. I don't get this at all. RAW ends on a sour note for me.

Let Santino go first...that would be comedy gold!

Yeah I don't understand the point of that ending. Everything was building up perfectly, until the McMahon superpowers have to put themselves over again. That ending had the Kane/Shane feud written all over it. I don't get WWE sometimes. How can they ruin something that fast?

Blitz 01-27-2009 07:41 AM

Horrible, horrible booking of Randy Orton all around. I mean just absolutely godawful.

Yet again, the McMahon's have to get themselves over at the expense of the talent. Any excitement I had about the WWE product after the Rumble is pretty much gone.

Volare 01-27-2009 08:01 AM

What if Orton punted Shane in the head? Or Steph maybe? Would that bring it back?

No. The only way Orton can save face is if it was a set up, and he was letting Shane do it to lure Steph or Shane into a false sense of security. Besides that, Orton getting his ass kicked by an out of shape McMahon who was never a real wrestler in the first place just looks bad, and it looks bad for everyone Orton has ever beat too.

Volare 01-27-2009 11:10 AM

BTW looking at the ending again, look at Shane's punches...jezus for the love of god throw something a little better!

I love Shane, but he threw some of the fakest punches I have ever seen in wrestling. And that's saying a lot.

Lock Jaw 01-27-2009 12:51 PM

Worse than RVD!

RatedGSuperstar 01-27-2009 01:11 PM

Looks like Todd Martin hated the whole show. Saying TNA has nothing on RAW this week is a bit harsh, but maybe my growing mark-ness for Orton is blinding me a bit. Aside from the end of the show, I didn't think it was bad.

He keeps bitching about Orton being portrayed as a chickenshit heel on Raw like it's some kind of new development. What about the way he won the Rumble? What about punting a defenseless Vince? The guy's been acting chickenshit when the odds are against him for weeks, and he's treating it like it's a new development. I don't know...maybe I'm just more interested in seeing how this plays out before calling this Road to Wrestlemania a failure.

Hardly a waste. It's gonna be all in the build, and you're going to have an amazing promo man going against an actor.
It should be a fun storyline, and it's big exposure. I'm sure Jericho is pumped about it. It's great for his character too.

You'd rather have him in MITB?

And if you suggest the main event, well it's just not going to happen at this stage. He held the title for a long while and had great fueds with Michaels. He'll get another go too, but not at Mania. What more do you want?

Anyone he could face at Wrestlemania he already has, or will in the next year. Why not do this while they can?
I for one think it's a good idea.

Jeritron 01-27-2009 03:25 PM

I'm sure some people would rather see him get absolutely buried by Taker too. Like they can't do that next year.

I still think Taker's got HBM this year. I think they're going to tie up JBL vs HBM at No Way Out, and Takers going to try to bring the best back out of Michaels in storyline.
Maybe the two will even tie together.

thedamndest 01-27-2009 03:41 PM

Rourke's challenge to Jericho was already in the Entertainment section of my newspaper today. This is good business.

Jeritron 01-27-2009 04:04 PM

No, Paul Burchill vs Chris Jericho in an iron man match for the titles would be good business. This is nonsense.

thedamndest 01-27-2009 07:26 PM

BAH GAWD KING! BURCHILL STILL HAS A JOB???

Except most fans don't even give a shit about Paul Burchill, and most causal fans don't have the attention span for an iron man match, nevermind the general public.

Juan 01-29-2009 11:16 PM
