My friend and I tried to guess what the first thing Joe Buck was going to say when the Giants made the final out. My guess was "And for the first time since 1954 the Giants are champions of the baseball world." I was so close.

I guess I never really attribute torture to a fan base that hasn't had a championship team. Like it's only torture if your team won before so you got a taste of it and it's been torture trying to get it back. And yeah the Giants won before but it wasn't in San Francisco so it's not like San Franciscans knew what they were missing out on.

If Texas would've won nobody would've called it an end to 49 years of torture because the Rangers had never won a title before.

Also "What?" @ 56 years of "losing." You've had 34 winning seasons out of 52 seasons in San Fran. Not to mention you had both the greatest all around player of all time and the all time home run leader on your teams. If that's what passes for tortured, I'm moving to Guantanamo.
