Rampage is doing the same thing that Bobby Lashley did before- splitting time and duties between TNA and MMA (Bellator in this case). TNA is definitely not going to be his primary priority.

A thought about Curtis Axel:

The WWE usually leaves a lot of the behind the scenes stuff behind the scenes, of course, but do you think the WWE could get away with that little bit about Axel helping The Rock prepare for his Royal Rumble 2013 match against CM Punk, where Rock won the title, as perhaps a bit of background information on Axel and what Heyman sees in him?

You have it revealed that The Rock went after Axel as a training partner because he grew up with him in the business and always liked what he saw, but he knew that Axel had a past with CM Punk in New Nexus and knew some of his weak spots. Axel helped The Rock prepare and defeat CM Punk, and sources close to Heyman leaked the information who helped get The Rock to that level again so quickly. Heyman began to research Axel and hired him to be a training partner for Brock Lesnar and after seeing Axel's work decided to represent him. When The Rock shows up, it gives Axel a reason to interact with him, and when Brock Lesnar comes back, it gives Brock a corner buddy. But it could also be used to spark tension between CM Punk and Paul Heyman. "You hired the guy who helped The Rock take the WWE Title from me?"

I know I was ripping on McGuillicutty/Curtis Axel a week or two back, about people only loving him because of the romantic idea that he could achieve the levels of his dad and maybe farther, but after just seeing this I'd love for Hall's kid to get some serious training and go far for pretty much the same reason.

Granted, he interested me more in those 2 minutes than Axel has anytime I've ever seen him.

WWE.com has a pretty interesting look at some forgotten Velocity matches. It's made me miss Paul London.

It's also made me think that Ultimo Dragon could have been more if he had been signed at a different time. If he got some sort of Sin Cara push, he could have been huge.

It's also why I believe that a Cruiserweight Division in the WWE is a bad idea. It's an albatross around smaller guys' necks to be labelled that way than not.

In today's WWE, Ultimo Dragon would have been billed as a "high-flying world warrior" and put over guys like Heath Slater instead of wrestling other guys that would have put over Heath Slater.

Paul London has appeared in three of these matches so far. I'm five in...

I just watched Nunzio defeat Rey Mysterio (albeit in a Fatal 4-Way with Akio and Billy Kidman also involved). Had no clue Nunzio ever did that.

Jamie Noble was such a good smaller act. He oozed personality. I loved his pairing with Nidia. She radiated real slut vibes and seemed super-accessible.

Might be a random suggestion, but I'd really like to see Jamie Noble made the General Manager of RAW or something. Noble coming out in a suit and making it a "Tag team match, boy!" could be pretty entertaining.

Would you prefer Tyson Kidd be a guy chasing the same ultimate goal as John Cena? Because you know... there's 0 percent chance of that happening.

At least with a Cruiserweight division, all the guys like him actually have a realistic goal.

Hey, you know what, a Cruiserweight Division properly booked could be awesome. If Cruiserweight Champion Tyson Kidd was presented as the best wrestler 220lbs or under in the WWE, it might work. As it were, though, Kidd would be Cruiserweight Champion and Dolph Ziggler would be World Heavyweight Champion, despite the fact both are cruiserweights and it would make no fucking sense.

It just depends on whether you want talent to be judged on either skill or size.

If you want to make the Cruiserweight Title for wrestlers 230lbs or under, you can have Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho and CM Punk grouped in with the division as well. Are we meant to believe that Tyson Kidd can beat them? Guys like Rey Mysterio, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes and John Morrison are all cruiserweights. How can you explain them going after the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship and yet have other smaller guys fighting each other and convincing people that it means something? Because they're not good enough to break out of the division and fight up?

If the Cruiserweight Title were around, people would be saying the same things you are currently saying about the guys who have managed to avoid the curse of being labelled a "cruiserweight."

Also, for the record, yes, I think Tyson Kidd could be chasing the same goal as John Cena. Do I think he would win it? Not unless he caught fire, but I could definitely see Kidd working a few higher-up matches against the likes of Chris Jericho, Curtis Axel, CM Punk or Daniel Bryan, instead of being given a title for "smaller guys that aren't as good as those other smaller guys."

Since the Cruiserweight Title was retired, I've noticed that there's less of a kayfabe stigma about smaller guys. They're not "mismatched," but they're merely giving up some size and need to make it up with a smart approach. If you want to have Evan Bourne and Tyson Kidd have a bunch of awesome matches on Superstars or Main Event, that's absolutely fine, but if you throw them in a "division," they may never get out.

You can have a guy like CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler be lighter than 230 yet not be in the Cruiserweight division. It would blatantly be saying "Alright, the only reason Tyson Kidd is in the division and they aren't is because they have potential to be major main eventers and he doesn't." but that isn't really anything we don't already know. There is no way... absolutely NO WAY that John Cena will ever be chasing Tyson Kidd for the title. Let's be realistic. Kidd is never gonna be THE guy. So why not make a division that he CAN be THE guy in. And if by some crazy chance they decided they wanted someone like Sin Cara or Tyson Kidd or Justin Gabriel to fight with the "big boys", they can graduate to the main event or upper-midcard or feud with a non-cruiserweight guy or whatever they want. They wouldn't be stuck there. Just like Mysterio wasn't stuck in the cruiserweight division.

Zack Ryder would be the "John Cena" of Cruiserweights. Book it!

Nobody is as entertaining as Daniel Bryan at the moment. I hope that the WWE recognize him and award him with the WWE Championship (in the near future) or a program for the strap (atleast).
