There is no way... absolutely NO WAY that John Cena will ever be chasing Tyson Kidd for the title. Let's be realistic. Kidd is never gonna be THE guy. So why not make a division that he CAN be THE guy in. And if by some crazy chance they decided they wanted someone like Sin Cara or Tyson Kidd or Justin Gabriel to fight with the "big boys", they can graduate to the main event or upper-midcard or feud with a non-cruiserweight guy or whatever they want. They wouldn't be stuck there. Just like Mysterio wasn't stuck in the cruiserweight division.

I couldn't agree more :y:

Except Rey was stuck in the Cruiserweight Division for years. There are a few exceptions, but a lot of talent wouldn't be given the chance to even cut promos in the Cruiserweight Division.

I didn't say that Tyson Kidd would be THE GUY. Not everybody needs to be THE GUY. I can definitely see Tyson Kidd challenging a heel champion in Calgary with Bret Hart in his corner, though. I can definitely see Kidd facing Chris Jericho and maybe even pulling off a massive upset, though. I could even see Kidd getting a surprising amount of offense in on a Mark Henry type before getting put down by a powerful onslaught and finished. I could see Curtis Axel and Tyson Kidd renewing their rivalry, perhaps even with Kidd eventually joining Axel and Heyman. Paul Heyman could sell Kidd as a heel submission specialist to the WWE Universe. Give him a bodyguard that is less shit than Jackson Andrews and Kidd could work surprisingly well in a similar role to what The Brian Kendrick was playing before he fucked that up.

I completely agree. I still hope that we get Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton at Payback, as I feel that could a Match of the Year candidate, and that a win there would launch Daniel Bryan into the stratosphere. He also seems like a pretty logical choice to win a Money in the Bank briefcase this year.

GD 06-05-2013 12:21 AM

I've taken it upon myself to maintain Curtis Axel's Wikipedia page. They won't change the name of the page from "Michael McGillicutty" to "Curtis Axel" or "Joe Henning".

Mr. Nerfect 06-05-2013 12:25 AM

Could you imagine how hot a Ziggler vs. Bryan match would be at the moment? I mean, Ziggler has been inactive for a bit, but their matches are always so fantastic and with the crowd so into Bryan? Wow.

GD 06-05-2013 12:30 AM

Ziggler and Daniel had one of the best series of "Champion versus Champion" matches. All of them were consistently good.

lol. He wasn't "stuck" in the Cruiserweight division any more than he would have been "stuck" in a lower-card division without a title to go after before. The man even fucking challenged for the WCW title against Ric Flair while he was "stuck" in the cruiserweight division. Having a division to be at the top of did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to hamper him and in fact helped his career outside that division in the long run. How is this a bad thing? lol

Rey Rey was never "stuck" stuck. Although he was running after the Cruiserweight title, he was constantly involved in wrestling the top stars of Smackdown and getting shots at other belts.

Why does Vince McMahon think that a last-second rewrite that has no added promotional opportunities is going to do ANYTHING to change the Raw rating? This isn't 1999, and Mankind's not winning the strap.

It's just an appearance by Vince and Stephanie that lasted all of one segment, and there's no one sitting behind the NBA commentary desk that going to give two shits about WWE enough to make a "That'll put butts in seats" comment.

itsmeJD 06-05-2013 05:32 AM

Court Bauer mentioned Vince can make his mind up for shit these days and constantly requests these changes. In listening to him it sounds like working WWE creative is fucking clown shoes.

Apparently Scotty 2 Hotty is now a fireman:

loopydate 06-05-2013 10:35 AM

A guy I used to work with is now a fireman, and he posted on his Facebook a few weeks back:

"So the old wrestler "Scotty 2 Hotty" is going to school to be a firefighter and came to the station for dinner and hang out. Weird."

Apparently he was closer to done than he thought.

They're not "mismatched," but they're merely giving up some size and need to make it up with a smart approach. If you want to have Evan Bourne and Tyson Kidd have a bunch of awesome matches on Superstars or Main Event, that's absolutely fine, but if you throw them in a "division," they may never get out.

The guys with Main Event potential will always get out. They'll always find a way to catch on and crossover. Especially if you make that the intention of the Division.

I'd love a new Cruiserweight Divison (or something completely different to the current structure like the X Division or Hardcore Divisions were) as I think it'd give renewed focus to the lower card. The major benefit of using the smaller guys is that if Creative can't come up with anything storyline-wise the very least you get is a stellar match per show.

TNA are doing an interesting thing with their Triple Threat X Division setup that gets guys on TV, gives the audience a great 7-10 minute match and can lead to any number of angles if that's the way they wanna go.

Alternatively, you actually give focus back to the Tag Division with stoylines/promo time instead of these random matches here and there.

WWE.com has listed STING as the greatest wrestler never to appear in the WWE.

Swiss Ultimate 06-05-2013 01:07 PM

Even better than John Cena??????

Swiss Ultimate 06-05-2013 01:07 PM

Get it Slik? Because of his catch-phrase "You can't see me!"

That was a good joke.

slik 06-05-2013 01:09 PM

Mind. Blown.

Some stuff from the dirtsheets:

Quote:

It appears WWE are planting the seeds for more members of The Wyatt Family to debut on TV. Right now, we know that Bray Wyatt will be coming up with NXT Tag Team Champions Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The video that aired on Monday also featured what appeared to be NXT wrestler Garrett Dylan and NXT Diva Bayley in minor roles as Wyatt's "followers."
Quote:

WWE officials are once again interested in pushing the tag team division. Over the next few weeks, we may see several undercard talents put together in new tag teams. This latest tag team kick is part of why The Usos are being pushed to feud with Tag Team Champions The Shield.
So any bets on how long the tag revival lasts this time before the WWE loses interest again.

Also from what I've understand about the CHIKARA mess is that the company split off into around 7 smaller promotions (Wrestling Is coalition). Everything that involved money or backstage issues is indeed true while the hostile or new management takeover is just a work/storyline to keep people interested in the smaller promotions.

I'm guessing it's gonna be The Usos suddenly winning matches left and right for a month just to push them as viable contenders to The Shield and then after they lose the tag title match, going right back to where they were before.

Kinda like whenever a random diva gets a meaningless one month push to try to convince people they're relevant before it ends immediately following the title match.

XL 06-05-2013 03:40 PM

Sadly, I had the exact same thought process.

I'm in two minds whether to buy this T-Shirt or not.

http://imageshack.us/a/img96/1512/ab...roguekicks.jpg

The main thing stopping me from buying it right now is the fact that I'm not really that big a Sheamus fan at the moment. I like him but if he returns to the Sheamus I didn't really like not too long ago, where he would constantly tell those tall tales about Ireland and his ever growing family, while saying "Arse" every five minutes, then I doubt I'd wear the T-Shirt much, which in a way would be a waste of my money. :-\

Would have said that Muta should have been higher. Abby should have been much lower. I wish Kobashi was on this list.

Seriously, I don't know what's weirder: The fact that Kevin Sullivan was in WWWF, or that he was a face during that time.
