The last two years was veteran vs. veteran, so I don't see why they wouldn't do Triple H vs. Undertaker

I don't think they wanna blow the streak just yet

Okay, random "Do You Agree" post.

The 2009 Slammys to WrestleMania 26 was the superior Mania build up for Taker vs Michaels, but their Mania 25 match was superior.

Triple Naitch 01-23-2011 02:40 PM

Agreed. But that's because the first match was so good they needed a proper build for the rematch.

XL 01-23-2011 02:49 PM

I don't think I like the name. I don't get why there are two R's. I read it as "Corr-y".

The singer of 9 Electric (who were rumored to open for Marilyn Manson 3 weeks ago) recorded Wades new song.

" Here's the debut of the WWE theme song Thunderwood sang vocals on! The song is called 'End Of Days' and it's getting a nice amount of attention on Youtube by wrestling fans!!! It's hard to hear but you can make out Thunderwood's voice pretty easily! "

"Lots of funny emails about the WWE song. Here's the FAQ- THIS IS NOT OUR SONG! WE DID NOT WRITE IT. It was just a studio session for Thunderwood. The rest of us have never even heard the song! We do not know when it's getting released. It's not up to us. We didn't write it. We didn't play guitars/drums on it. We cannot... release it. Also, I stopped watching wrestling when Hillbilly Jim retired. -CaseyDC"

The Naitch 01-23-2011 03:23 PM

Heath Slater as the One Man Rock Band is fucking gay. He shouldn't be allowed to touch the mic

The Naitch 01-23-2011 03:24 PM

Gabriel works, because he's like that "lone babyface" in the "heel stable"

It works for him for some reason and it hasn't been done before (for a while atleast, since RVD was the huge babyface in the Alliance)

Lock Jaw 01-23-2011 03:54 PM

WTF is this "Corre" stuff? I assumed this thread was just a typo, but then everyone kept saying "Corre", and so I went to WWE.com and it says "Corre" there, too.

Still need to watch Smackdown, what did Barrett have to do, stand there and spell out the name of his group? "We are The Corre! With an extra R! C-O-Double-R-E!"

Razzamajazz 01-23-2011 03:55 PM

i saw a local commercial last night with THE NASTY BOY BRIAN KNOBBS for some money lending company. it was so stupid but i can't find it anywhere online yet

Yeah, Starrcade '90 was good. Although, I wished the finals of that Tag Team tournament was The Steiners (U.S.A.) vs. Victor Zangiev and Salman Hashimikov (U.S.S.R.). So not Starcade.

Probably Halloween Havoc or Fall Brawl.

I can't believe the main event of Starrcade 1996 was a non-title match. Starrcade was usually WCW's biggest show of the year. Imagine the main event of WrestleMania being a one-on-one match featuring the champion but having it as a non-title match.

Rated RKO: The Return.

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

WWE creative has discussed reuniting Randy Orton and Edge as a tandem.

The duo is scheduled for a dark match at this Tuesday’s SmackDown! taping in Cincinnati, Ohio against WWE Champion The Miz and Dolph Ziggler.

Orton and Edge formed an alliance known as Rated-RKO in October 2006 to challenge the team of Triple H and Shawn Michaels. The group captured the World Tag Team Championship in November 2006 and officially disbanded in May 2007, after Edge moved to the SmackDown! brand.

I see this happening as both wrestlers are the vipers of their respected brands.

Together, they can go against heels, faces, and anyone else who attempts to take away their spotlight.

I'd mark out with this.

Your thoughts?

Tazz Dan 01-24-2011 12:48 AM

Nah, I don't think either need it right now. Plus they're on different shows. I'd prefer a short E&C reunion leading to a turn from one of them and a nice juicy feud. :y:

I'm sure we'll see them show up on the same show and work together -- both being main event faces -- but I don't think it should go beyond this. Neither needs it right now. Although, I would sorta mark out if Edge, Randy Orton, Christian, John Cena, R-Truth, John Morrison, Daniel Bryan & Darren Young and fought Nexus and The Corre at the same time. It'd fuck up too many storylines, and would be something Russo would write -- but I'd totally mark out for it after the headaches.

James Steele 01-24-2011 05:30 AM

They need to reunite Evolution.

I could see him becoming the member of Corre who does the dirty work that the group doesn't want to do. Like, I'd love for Corre to pretend to be a face group when Teddy Long is around, only to have Tarver as this sort of third party contractor who does all their dirty work.

Pretty much this. It actually wouldn't make sense for Wade Barrett to roll out the carpet for Tarver again. When John Cena beat him down to explain his injury, Wade Barrett said he was thinking of ways to get rid of him, anyway. But if Tarver wanted back in -- he could earn it by being an unofficial enforcer for The Corre. In some ways, it would help Tarver stand out -- he's so loathsome that the second most loathsome group in the WWE won't have him, but he still wants to get in. It could also be a wild-card for Barrett, if he seems to have issues with Tarver, but then at a big moment in time, Tarver is revealed to have been accepted by Barrett -- and aids him tremendously.

Just keep him in the nice clothes, and have him call himself "Mr. Tarver" until he officially rejoins the group. Tarver seems like the kind of guy who doesn't like you using his first name.

SPOILER: show
"BREAK DA WALLS DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!!!!!!!!"

Mr. Nerfect 01-24-2011 05:40 AM

Justin Gabriel getting to be a part of this group is probably the best thing for his career right now. He's a) Getting the chance to prove that despite his size, he can play a psychotic heel and grow a beard; b) Working with main event guys and proving he can be a threat. When he does turn face, the WWE will know that he can play a heel, his finishing move can get over as something more than flash, and he's got so much story to him already.

I'm still on Heath Slater's side, although seeing him on SmackDown! made me realise what a guilty pleasure he is. The guy does look goofy, his hair does seem a little too straight, and it's a bit ridiculous him calling himself a One Man Rock Band -- but Matt Striker pointed out what it is about Slater later in the evening. It's his cunning. The guy stands around and seems like a doofus hick who probably couldn't count to ten, but he's not that -- the guy constantly displays an intelligence in the ring, often outsmarting the best in the business. It's this contrast that I love in Slater. He downplays his presence so he is underestimated. He doesn't die his hair, or cut it short, or wear a scowl all the time, or work on losing his accent, or get tights that aren't so sparkly. He seemingly embraces all these things, and surprises his opponent -- a deliberate underachiever. He's truly a Ginja Ninja.

I kinda sorta want him to get an entirely new finishing move, though. Something with a bit more "Oops, you're dead" quality. Anything. Even a submission move, since no one in The Corre seems to have one of those, and out of everybody in the group, it would seemingly fit Slater's built persona of being "cunning." I can just imagine people really booing a guy saying in a Virginian drawl: "That's right...you just tapped out to the chick from Wendy's."

Mr. Nerfect 01-24-2011 05:43 AM

I'd rather see Orton and Triple H remain hating each other. If he does join a group, I want it to be a massive heel one later in the year -- bringing together Vince's "company men." Sort of like a combination between Evolution and the Corporation. Triple H would be the mouthpiece and the active mind behind the group, while Drew McIntyre would be the "future" or "chosen one." Maybe throw in CM Punk, which is what I thought they were teasing a while back when Punk and Undertaker were feuding, but that never went anywhere.

James Steele 01-24-2011 05:45 AM

Fuck it, retry the 2-Man Power Trip angle only this time with Triple H/Cena/McMahon. Of course, Cena would become Intercontinental Champion.

You know what, I've had a similar idea in the past. Not sure if I posted it anywhere. But I've always felt that is how John Cena should turn heel -- the man does everything for the company...why wouldn't he be in bed with Vince? Triple H is the guy's son-in-law. It's the perfect fit.

WWE Hall of Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart was a guest on Sunday night's Live Audio Wrestling radio show on Sirius XM. Among the topics discussed was the announcement that Shawn Michaels will be joining him in the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania weekend in April. Visit TheFightNetwork.com to download an MP3 of Bret's appearance on the LAW show.

Hart says despite the long standing issues he and Shawn had in the past, they buried the hatchet last year when he returned to WWE television on January 4th and remain friends to this day. When asked whether he would induct Shawn into the Hall of Fame, Bret responded:

"I wouldn't have any problem inducting Shawn. The truth is Shawn was a great wrestler and I had a lot of great matches with him. I'm proud of some of the great memories I had with Shawn and I would be happy to induct him into the Hall of Fame if they asked me to," Hart told John Pollock of the Fight Network for an interview on Sunday's Live Audio Wrestling show.
